I have seen before those result and now I ask myself that is my n7000 can 12 hours 47 minutes screen on really???
Today, my phone screen on time is 2 hours and battery 25%. How can the testers do that, even with 3g???
Battery life varies tremendously between ROMs, settings, apps installed and running, and usage profiles. Don't take these comparisons so seriously. Anyway, 12 hours of screen on seems a bit exagerated to me. If you feel your battery is draining fast, check:
1) Is your ROM and kernel a battery drainer? Check the forums.
2) Install an app like Better Battery Stats and check if your phone is going to deep sleep, and if there are too many kernel wakelocks. It could indicate a kernel bug (old ROMs) or a misbehaved app.
3) Install an app like Juice Defender to save some battery, reduce the brightness to minimum etc.
2 to 4 hours of screen on time is more common, but 12 hours is too much for note.
Maybe it is standby time?
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda app-developers app
I think so
12hr 3G talk time .. hahah .. that is a joke ... did not happen to me a single time through all my cycles of of ROM's since its purchase.
3 - 4 hrs continuous 3G talk time and your phone battery icon is just about to turn Red
you can get a very long screen on time if you set a pureblack picture and have all radios off lol
Odp: [Q] About battery life test and reality...
The longest screen on time I've had was during battery comparison - 7:40 of continuous video playback with minimal brightness and in plane mode. I guess it could get a,bit better for book reading or some similar low-current activity.
I got my S2 Tab wifi (T713) a few days ago and I'm kind of disappointed with the battery life. I've got around 6-6.5h SoT with battery saving in the last 30%.
I'm still on stock, should I root and slap on LineageOS 14 or 15.1?
Thanks in advance
Depends what you're doing. Check your battery usage and see if you can identify what's the highest drain.
I just checked mine: 3h38min used 34%, so that would project out to 10+ hours SOT. This is reading / web surfing with screen brightness at about 10%. Gaming or bright screen will cut that down, of course, but it's the best of any of the tablets I've owned.
Thanks for your reply, but you ommited one crucial information for me - on what ROM/Android version are you?
Also that is really bad way to estimate battery life, please provide some numbers when you hit 5% battery.
My main consumer is the screen with ~35% battery usage.
I use my tablet mainly for reddit (sync for reddit app) which is a mix of reading, gifs and videos, but mostly reading and for YouTube.
I tried setting the screen to lower brightness but I wouldn't use it lower from 25-30%, I don't want the whites to be greys.
I'm wondering if LineageOS would improve something, or maybe rooting and applying ad blocking to the stock rom.
I'd also like to apply a dark theme.
It's still under the warranty, it's a week old, so I'm still figuring out if voiding the warranty would be worth it.
I would keep it stock and enjoy it. Over 6 hours of screen time is actually pretty good. Did you use it straight for those six hours? Do you have sync, nfc, gps turned on? Any apps that continuously refresh like weather, email, or other games, etc.... Battery drain is very subjective. I use my tablet for media and gaming. I find it difficult be productive on this tablet. I own a Surface pro and battery is terrible, but great for productivity.
Yeah, I'm going to stay stock - I managed to put SABS on it so I have ad blocking and I can disable the Samsung bloatware so I hope that will improve battery life overall.
As I said in my previous post, I use it mostly for browsing, very rarely for gaming and I know games drain the battery a lot.
My gps/nfc/bt all is turned off all the time.
Only wifi for browsing.
I have Lineage OS latest on the Tab S2 SM-T713 and if you do gaming on it, it will be miserable, barely two hours of SOT.
Anything over 5h of SOT is good for this tablet. Samsung took the decision to sacrifice battery in name of weight, (or lack of it.) For me, this was a great decision.
If you've just bought this, consider returning it and looking at the Huawei M3/M5. The Mrs is a power user and get around 8h of SOT.
Hello,
I've just bought a dual sim P20 Pro a couple of days ago and I am unhappy with the battery.
With moderate use like some Chrome browsing, some sms, calls and a bit of facebook I am getting only about of 26 hours life from 95% to 18-20%. I am only using one sim with LTE network.
Two times I've had a sudden drop from 96 to 91 percent and usually when screen is online I can observe percents dropping one by one in a matter of minutes.
If SOT is like 5-10min it is always 1%, if more than more. Could you please give me advice or share your experiencies?
I've read some reviews than phone is like a monster with battery lasting 2 full days with heavy use. So i would be glad to hear your opinions.
Authorised service centre haven't found any problems when I delivered the phone to them.
Thanks in advance!

No phone will last 2 full days with heavy use, if heavy use includes calls etc, no matter what they say. Download battery app and check for wakelocks. Probably some app keeping phone awake. Edit.. Try this https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&sou...FjAAegQIARAB&usg=AOvVaw3cuTBnY1K_02fdd-kpZpug
Go to Settings -> Battery -> Battery Usage and check what drains your battery. Usually it's bad cellular network reception (you will see more "Cell standby") or some app.
I charge my phone every ~36 hours, but I'm not really a heavy user.
Just a note - AOD (always-on-display) does drain your battery (yes, OLED display, black colours, bla-bla-bla, just test yourself), so if you want it enabled (because it's convenient, I use it too) keep your phone face down on your desk/bedside when you don't need it.
You are not alone as i have the same issue but mine drains overnight. I guess warranty will fix it?
Mines been mostly positive from the off, coming from a Oneplus 5 this phone had a lot to live up to.
Honestly it really depends on what you have installed and what your reception is like, remove your SIM and see how your battery lasts then, it's quite the difference.
Seeing as no one would do that and you won't be able to move your cell towers then it's apps.
I can't speak for Pie as i did not want to install it until there were some decent roms available and maybe a working TWRP.
This is the thread i made on the oneplus 5 showing where i was able to achieve 14 hours 30 mins whilst at home and a leaderboard showing other peoples longest SOT times with proof.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-5/how-to/screen-time-leaderboard-post-longest-sot-t3780178
Similar situation on my p20 pro but the SOT was 17 hours + over a weekend, so Friday - Sunday on 1 charge.
Average around 8-10 hours, 1 and a half days give or take/.
So depending on your usage / location / signal / apps it is more than possible to get ridiculous battery life and longevity.
Personally i'd say do the following:
Don't charge overnight (contrary to common belief, this does have an impact over time)
Leave sync on (maintaining synchronization uses less battery than a big sync)
Check your apps, Facebook / Snapchat / Viber, they're all hogs, use the web version of FB and stick with whatsapp, it's more efficient.
Remove any apps you aren't using.
Avoid any apps with ads on if there's a paid for variant.
As @purple patch has said, use BBS to diagnose if any apps are keeping the device from sleeping.
That's pretty much all i do.
Hope this helps.
I am wondering how are you guys getting this top performance. For me it is like a typical situation: 26 hours after charging to 93%, 22% charge now, 4 hours SOT.
Cell signal is good, using Facebook and Messenger a lot.
But let's see I will try your reccomendations. Thanks.

Facebook and messenger are major hogs, use the web version of facebook and you'll see a benfit.
Facebook harvest so much info it's insane, tbh i uninstalled my FB and deleted my account, got to be honest the only thing i miss are the little funny videos that people post.
Beyond that i'm glad to be rid of it.
Hey, does any1 has reached 2 days of battery with normal usage ?
I mean i twinkered the phone to not have all the bull**** in the background working, processes that check the motion sensors, battery, internet, screen touch, sync data, etc. all the customizable things off/denied/unistalled, the 120hz is on and the battery setting that puts the phone on battery saving at night, with all of these i berly get 2 days normal usage on the phone, and 1 day and few hours if play some games 2-3 hours of games, you guys have the same stats of battery usage ?
Hi @pewpewze there has already been a thread about this in Real Life Review i have put a direct link below where people have posted screenshots of screen on time drain and battery life battery life;

As I'm using Oppo Find X3 Pro which is better than premium devices when compared, devices that have more Mah battery tend to fail in power management. But Find X3 pro has great battery life. Check the link for further information.

Thanks For sharing information.
Screen on time on average around 7h/day. For me it depends on the apps I'm using, battery is draining faster during filming/editing but still very stable / no quick jumps but equal to usage.
My normal usage with 5h SOT: Phone unplugged at 7.00 AM, around 15% left at 10 PM.

Global
24-30h, 4-5 SOT
Just you to know, I never charge this thing at night. 20 minutes during my breakfast and going on using it all day and next night (not disturb). 5-6h SOT also with gaming and video streaming. I am super satisfied with battery management and especially with charging times.
The battery life isn't quite on par with the P40 or P30 Pro I had previously, but it's totally fine, and definitely not a reason to avoid this phone. I would say around 80-90% as good battery life.
Imho better than the Samsung s10 I had, that was pretty average.
I do run my screen at 60hz but otherwise use all the normal features like Bluetooth connected to a watch all day, camera plenty, music streaming, navigation, WiFi hot-spot etc. Screen timeout is 1min.
Using coloros 12 basically since I got the phone so can't tell you what 11 was like in comparison.
I came to this phone from a long line of Sony flagships, this is FAR superior battery life and agreeing with others in that I feel it's the power management over MaH. I am off work at the mo with a broken back so the phone is getting hammered, main usage is camera (I have 4 young kids and use the camera an awful lot as well as viewing photo's and videos), then Chrome & messaging, watching movies, casting screen to TV. WiFi, BT, NFC, mobile data always on, brightness always 100% except when in bed. Since being off work I no longer charge overnight as it charges so quick, I just plug it in when making dinner or getting a shower. I very rarely have to top it up. Very happy with the battery life.
Using ADB AppControl https://adbappcontrol.com/en/#download
And removing around 60 applications im having great battery life
Idle time is great
Not like samsung exynos crap draining your battery 1 % every 30 min

Can you share a list what did you remove with ADB - what is safe to remove. Thank you
I don't see any apk making significant drain on battery. You can check it yourself in battery stats.
What drains battery is screen on and network coverage and there is not much you can do there anyway.
People claiming that they improved battery usage after removing 50% of apps is just placebo.

Yeah it's just nonsense. You can even see they drain 0% before they are removed so pointless doing it
Battery drain issues over the last few days can be related to the storms we've been seeing.
Networks will be running a reduced power "safe mode" incase of power surges.
It may make your phone work a little bit harder to maintain a signal.
increíble. Sólo wifi.
Todo encendido excepto 5G
Segunda captura 4 horas en modo de espera y aun al 100 %
Solo parada micro G
I am moderate user, 5-6 hrs SOT with Youtube, Netflix, Messaging and Social Media apps and easily drops to 4-5 hrs SOT when I play power-hungry games. I find the battery usage is more or less the same with my previous phone, a Huawei Mate 20 Pro.
Considering Find X3 Pro has more powerful and power-hungry SD888, 120Hz screen, and a bump only 300mah more than my Huawei, I thought it's pretty good. The charging is way better than Huawei, faster and less heat. I usually charge my phone in the morning around 15 mins to 80% (I usually charge my phones to 80% unless I want to test for something.. and once or twice a month i full charged my phone to 100%)
