[Q] No OS :/ - X 2014 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Heya guys, first post here.
I recently rooted my friends' Moto X 2014, I personally have a OnePlus One, and I ran into a problem
He sent me a rom for the moto G instead, not the X, and I didn't even double check, and flashed it. Obviously, it failed, but with the rom I flashed the 5.1 Gapps. The moto X in question was still running 5.0.2 :/
So, I tried to wipe it, and accidentally pressed system :v
Any help? Stuck in TWRP with no OS
I've seen other threads for this, but they've all been for the 2013 moto X.
Cheers
Gustaw.

Maybe be you can adb sideload from the recovery or push the rom using adb push also. If you have a otg cable, you can put the rom on a sd card or flash drive and you will be able to flash the rom from there. If it does not work, you might have to flash the stock firmware from fastboot mode

How do I push it? The moto X doesn't have a sdcard slot, and I don't have an otg cable.
Link to instructions please?
Thanks

I know the moto x doesnt have a sd card. Thats why you get a sd card and sd card reader and plug it connect to the USB otg cable and then plug it in the the moto x. You should be able to view the files on the sdcard from the phone and you will be able to flash the rom in twrp.

[Q] HELP! I rooted my HTC ONE 801n everything was fine until...

Hey you guys what's up!
I unlocked the bootloader on my HTC One via HTC Devs and flashed a custom recovery (CWM) and then flashed Cyanogenmod 10.1 and everything was AMAZING and great I was updating the nighties almost daily and I was having a blast! Then my Google Apps stopped working. They would have a server error repeatedly and I couldnt update my apps on Play store or use G+ or sync my email none of my Gapps were working. So i figured i'd relfash my GAPPS and thats exactly what i did still nothing changed. So I wiped the device and reinstalled Cyanogenmod. In the welcome screen when i sign to Gmail, it gave me the same server error. So I wiped the sd card by accident and now i'm on Recovery but NO ROMS to flash! And because the phone doesn't support an external SD Card, I cannot add the rom again to flash it via recovery! I tried to adb sideload but it wont work the adb installer keeps telling my windows 8 64bit error! Also, I tried to mount the sdcard to copy the rom again and flash it in recovery but it wont mount my computer wont read the phone. It gives me the alert that the phone is connected but i do not get to access the memory to copy a rom to it.
Now I'm stuck with a HTC One that has CWM recovery and no roms to boot. Please please help!
Thanks
This happened to me. With cwm you'll just have to side load a new zip. Use adb sideload ROM.zip this should get you back in business.

If you have an OTG cable it will come in handy here. Try uninstalling the drivers and reinstall them

Why would an OTG cable come in handy? I have one but haven't really found any practical uses for it beside hooking up a mouse, keyboard, or sd reader.

after reading my own post, im guessing to to put zip files on an sd card when you cant use adb?
I'm having a similar problem, I can't access the sdcard (or /data directory) and don't have an OTG cable. Any way I can access the /data directory? recoveries keep showing it as 0MB. :/
---
EDIT: Got it fixed. Sideload didn't work on TWRP. I tried using CWM and it froze the computer I was doing it from. I tried again from another computer and I decided to wait a few minutes and it started pushing it. Eventually the rom installed and all is well!
I think the problem occured when trying to install a rom before and recovery rebooted in the middle of the installation which messed up the /data directory. I lost all access to it and ended up wiping it all (prob didn't need to) and sideload fixed it.
boys, i figured it out. I have used a OTG Cable copied the rom to a usb stick and bam! i'm a satisfied customer!

[Q] AT&T HTC One stuck in bootloop

While trying to flash the ViperOne ROM something went wrong and I deleted my entire internal storage, including my backup. I have tried adb sideload and adb push, but my device is not found. I am using TWRP, and I am on a mac. My USB-OTG cable arrives on Tuesday, how would I go about using the USB-OTG cable to put the stock ROM onto my phone? Are there any alternatives to using the cable? Thank you.

1. Just flash it with RSD lite
2. Flash lastest TWRP and flash anhy ROM.zip
P.S. If your PC can`t see phone on TWRP-MTP-mode - try to mount data on TWRP and look to drivers

SlimReaper, relax, don't freak out. You have all the tools you need, you just need to know how to use them properly.
Can you still get into TWRP? If yes, then if your phone can be detected as USB storage, how about copying a ROM zip file to it while it's connected as USB storage and then boot into TWRP and flash the ROM file that you just put on it? Otherwise you'll have to flash with your computer using RSD lite like the other guys suggested.

usb storage isn't what you are looking for
phone needs to be in AP fastboot mode if using RSD Lite

need help Nexus 6 i wiped everything by mistake stuck on twrp recovery

Hi XDA users i really need some help!!
my buddy is into rooting androids and doing all kinds of stuff to them. i bought a nexus 6 and he rooted it added cyanogenmod and twrp recovery.
I soon upgraded my phone and let my cousin use my nexus 6 cause he lost his phone.
when he gave it back I wanted to erase everything and sign back in to my account so i went into twrp recovery and by accident instead of factory reset i formatted the phone which erased everything. so now it doesn't have anything in the internal storage of the phone.
it is now stuck on twrp if i boot it all i see is the google startup screen and it stays there.
my laptop wont recognize the phone so i cant add cyanogenmod ROM and I bought
did i ruin this phone? anyone encountered this before?
i will ad pictures tonight
Get it hooked up to a computer (update drivers on your laptop if needed), get a flashable ROM onto your phone's storage, and flash in TWRP
Just use a otg cable to hook up usb stick to the phone and use that to install the rom
Preferably, download a fresh stock ROM from here: https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images#shamu
Then either get the drivers to work properly on your laptop or hook your phone up to another computer and transfer it over to flash. Shouldn't have anything to worry about
I do this all the time. You just wiped the OS and internals and only have TWRP. I do this when I want to complete clear my phone. You can either use an OTG stick or fastboot to flash a new ROM.
No one else here has mentioned this, but you can also use fastboot to adb push a ROM zip into your internal SD card if you do not have an OTG stick.

you can't use fastboot to flash any ROM but the factory image, and you can NOT use fastboot to adb push anything. you can only use adb to adb push stuff. and you dont need to use anything to move a rom into storage using twrp. and I do this every time I want to flash clean.
Yea, not too big of an issue really. Boot into TWRP and like the others said, transfer a ROM and gapps to the phone and just flash those, or alternatively, you can use fastboot to flash a stock image, if you want to go that route and need help with that, pm me and I'll run you through it! We all gotta learn these simple steps right? let me know!

I have a 64gb 3.0 sandisk OTG stick with the ROM but my nexus 6 is not recognizing it so adding a OTG cable in between might work?
Boot into TWRP and then plug into your PC, it should recognize it and let you move files.
thank you everyone for replying!! so pretty much this is what i have tried.
i connected it to three different laptops and none pick up the phone while i am in twrp recovery.
i bought a 64gb 3.0 sandisk OTG stick and put the ROM in their and the phone is not recognizing the external drive.
how do i update the drivers? maybe thats it.
am i using the wrong OTG stick?
Easiest way that's totally fool proof, download the nexus root toolkit from wugfresh.com and click the option to install drivers, then click "step 3" and it will install it for you without getting the full android SDK.

Try a different one if you have it. My Sandisk USB thumb drive to OTG cable does not recognize, but I have an HP thumbdrive that does.

I have this: http://www.amazon.com/LIFETIME-WARRANTY-Electronics-Micro-Cable/dp/B005GGBYJ4
It's basically a microUSB connector to USB. You can connect thumb drives, keyboards, mouses, etc..................I always keep a copy of TWRP and a ROM (dosen't matter what, I keep Pure Nexus) on it at all times. I've had to flash TWRP from my back up once b/c a CM based ROM corrupted TWRP.
What i noticed is that if i am already booted into twrp and then hook up my stick it isnt recognized either. But when i boot into twrp with the stick already hooked up its recognized.

Yeah same here. You either need to plug in first to get the phone to recognize it then go into twrp. If it doesn't then do a soft reboot to the rom then reboot into twrp agaib

Moto G Titan XT1068 usb port not working

Hi everyone.
While I was still running the phone stock and rooted my phone stopped reading usb otg devices and was no longer recognised by a pc. I carried on using the phone and used an sdcard to transfer files. After a while I sent it to a repair center and they told me that physically there is nothing wrong with the phone. So I took it back and flashed CM13 with TWRP. Before flashing gapps I connected it to a pc and the pc recognised it as a device. I could use ADB and transfer files. After flashing gapps I'm back to how it was, otg devices aren't recognised and pc's don't recognise the phone.
Can anyone help me? Anybody experience something similar and did you fix it? If so how?
Thanks for any help you can provide in advance.
So for giggles I booted to fastboot and plugged in my phone. Guess what? Minimal ADB can see the phone. I'll be flashing stock firmware and I'll report back
I successfully flashed the stock firmware on my moto g but the problem still persists. Oh well
