[Q] Lollipop screen brightness - Verizon LG G2

I'm new to this phone and on stock rooted lollipop (with twrp) but screen typically isn't bright enough indoors and outdoors. I want it to auto adjust so I tried lux lite but memory usage is very high (80-100MB). What are you guys doing about this?

Screen brightness

When someone develops a rom for this phone, can you boost screen brightness in auto? My screen seems so dim next to other android phones I put it next to..

I agree 100%. The automatic brightness is way dimmer than my OG Droid, I finally had to set the screen around 75% but now it's not quite bright enough for sunlight and too bright for nighttime.

Probably intentionally dim out of the box w/auto-brightness to save battery.
Would be cool if you could choose your auto-brightness settings (dim, medium and bright presets?)

agreed... im greatful for how dim it gets because I know it helps with battery, but being able to configure this would be nice as well.
Just used my friend's atrix.. Someone please hack the brightness!

Yeah, I am on board with this too
Screen brightness outside is abysmal

Brightness Sensor

hello everyone,
i noticed that the screen brightness doesnt change"on the spot", the phone needs to be locked and unlocked in order for the screen brightness to adapt at the ambient lighting.
e.g. im in a dark area using my phone then walking towards where is more brighter, the screen remain with the same brightness setting as the dark area, then for the screen to adapt i need to lock it and unlock it.
is this a bug?is my sensor broken? or this is how it really works?
P.S. i've searched already in the forum nothing came up in regards.
Phone Specs: LG optimus dual, rom temasek kang build 133, etana LOC kernel, BB and RIL match, And of course AUTOMATIC BRIGHTNESS TURNED ON.
Hoping for anyone kind consideration in the matter.
Thanks in advance.

[Q] A brighter note

there was an app called a brighter note for my note 2 to make my screen a little bit birghter than the stock adjustment. is there such a apk for the note 3 or any plans of one? Please dont start flaming over making the phone brighter. i like the screen to be a bit brighter thats just me.
no one on this? someone has to know how the old brighter note app worked and transfer it to this one
It's 2 completely different software builds. It won't work.

I use Lux Dash since I think it does a better job at controlling auto brightness, but it's a paid app. You have the ability to manually adjust how much higher than 'normal' it is, e.g. always be 5% or 10% brighter than 'normal throughout the entire ambient light range.
Don't know about brighter note app but lux has been working great for me on s3, note2 and now note3.

You people keep saying brighter this and brighter that with lux, which is not the case. Lux does not give you the option to set the brightness any higher than 100%.

If that was what he was asking, then you're right. He phrased it as wanting a bit more brightness than the normal adjustment, which sounded like auto brightness. Lux will let you ramp up throughout the ambient light range faster than stock.
OP - why not contact the original developer of that app and ask whether he can add a Note 3 version? The Note 3 screen is quite a bit brighter and easier to read outdoors IMO than the Note 2 , but I do understand a desire to have a brighter screen.

[Q] Does your phone get hot with full screen brightness?

I've recently noticed that my phone gets hot when I jack up the brightness. I'm used to running full brightness on my S4 and it never got hot. Is this a One thing or just mine?

It depends on what you do on the phone. Maximum brightness always heats up the phone. It's more noticeable on the One because the metal body of the one conducts heat more than the s4 plastic
htc one is known for its heating, maybe it is the metal cover, maybe some FW issue, dont know
but i have the same experience when aroma installer is on full brightness but cannot imagine to use full brightness for everyday use...must drain your battery

When its on auto it go full brightness and doesn't heat up. Only when forced into full brightness.

Galaxy S affected too
I do get the effect on my Galaxy S GT-I9000 too. It is pretty normal so I would usually set it to minimum brightness (though it won't solve your problem if you like a bright screen).
My Device does not get hot until I flashed Cyanogenmod 11 but I don't think screen brightness is a problem if I love my ROM.

[REQ] Auto Brightness Tweak

A lot have said the auto brightness is too aggressive which results in it being too bright. Could someone modify it to tone it down a bit?
+1
A formula resulting in maybe 60% brightness compared to default would be perfect for me.
Try this one if you are rooted:
