LG Watch Urbane Dock/Stand/Cradle [Custom] - LG Watch Urbane

Hey everyone, after seeing the other thread about a modified apple watch stand, I decided to make my own little stand.
Here I simply took an old Palm Touchstone Wireless charger and used it as a base for the stock cradle. I used a small piece of 3M automotive tape to connect the two.
The next idea I have is to tear them both down and try to solder the usb port leads to use the usb from the touchstone rather than the cradle so the usb can run out the back.

Very nice. Looks as if LG sold this.

The touchstone is a wireless charger right?. Why not just get a wireless qi receiver kit n connect it to the watch charger.

Touchstone is the other standard.. Not qi. And I don't see any efficiencies that could come out of it. A direct solder would be best.

N7 Stand via Direct TV

I thought I would share my new creation. I got tired of small stands that would not sit correctly while in my chair. So, I took an old direct tv stand and made a wooden enclosure, paired the together and.......voila! I have a new chair mount stand. Because of the skew adjustment on the dish stand, it can easily be set in both portrait and landscape position.
The whole stand is not quite finished. It still needs staining on the wood, stand painted light brown, and mounted to the chair. For now, I just have it sitting on the floor.
Update: I have finished staining the wood and have it fully mounted to the chair. The only things left to do are paint the base and add wingnuts on the back to replace the nuts so transition from landscape to portrait do not require a driver. Other than that, it is working perfectly. I have had it mounted and using it for the last few days. Otg cable and stereo aux cable are routed directly through the tube on the mount for easier and cleaner cable management. Watching movies and vids, browsing the web and most other things are excellent with this setup. Of course, accelerometer based games wont work well in this stationary setup, but the n7 slides right out, so no big deal. It is also where I have been leaving it at night. Great storage spot. Anyways, I am adding a few updated pics.
Next project: Building a normal carry around protective case for the N7 from some 100+ year old barn wood. After going through the planer and stain, it should look amazing.

What did you set the azimuth and elevation to?

It would depend on your seat. Mine is at 50 elevation. Azimuth is not marked on this on, so no clue. It is maxed out in the forward direction. Top unit is spun 90 degrees on the down tube to allow both portrait and landscape to sit correctly. Ordering the ir remote adapter tomorrow from amazon so I can use the tablet to control my tv, blu ray amd stereo while it is in the stand. This is my kings chair!

Magnetic charging dock

Just received my charging dock... But forgot that was going to use a cover so, just to inform that you have to remove the cover every time to charge it or you can try to slowly put the phone in some weird position in order to charge the phone.

I did my homework soon after my Z3 arrived.
Previous phone I always used and highly rate the case mate tough series so gone again this time around.

This one has space to allow you to pop in to magnetic dock so hoping it'll work.
I have the charging dock for Z2, will it work with Z3?
I'm really considering getting this phone. Coming from a nexus 5. I don't know if I should get this or wait for the nexus X lol. How are you liking the phone?

It works but Z3 is thinner so it can tilt and disconnect easily, less than ideal.

Have you tried pulling the insert out?
I purchased a cheap hard shell case from eBay to protect the phone while I'm waiting for a decent case to come on the market although for £1.95 this case was pretty good quality. The phone with the case on would not charge or fit with any of the inserts provided with the DK48 Magnetic Charging Dock. I removed the insert, added some foam padding, and trimmed the case slightly which allowed the phone to sit in the dock and charge. It works great

Custom Dock/Stand/Cradle

Hey everyone, I know this is the Urbane, but the cradle is nearly identical to the G Watch R and wanted to contribute my creation.

Project QI charging case for Xperia V

Hi,
I love the idea of wireless charging, especially with a waterproof phone so you don't need flaps or something like that for the charging port.
Ok, well the charging port of the xperia phones is very nice and I was using a dock quite a long time.
But hey, lets try charging the phone via qi.
This is the case thei the receiver mounted:
Since I decided modding the phone itself is not possible until larger modifications are made I decided modding a case to become a charging case.
The dock-ports are ideal for this.
So I bought a QI reciever. The reciever for the Samsung galaxy note II would do the job because the polarity matches with the polarity of the dock port (the upper one on the phone is the positive terminal).
The first receiver I bought was mechanically perfect because it is very small and thin. I taped it to a QI charger and connected the pins via lab wires to the phone. Unfortunately the receiver starts pulsing its output. I think the phone draws more current than the receiver could handle. Watching the receivers output with a scope showd that the receiver has much ripple and the voltage is around 7 V. This is to much, luckily the phone took no damage.
Here is a photo of the bad one:
So I bought a second receiver.
I'm from germany so, this is a link to german amazon.
You have to remove the 2 gold pins and replace them with 2 spring contacts.
I was using these contacts:
Put the receiver in the case, put in the phone and align it, so the spring contacts can touch the dock connector.
The remove the phone, fix the receiver with some tape and use a 2 component epoxy the fix the part with the spring contacts at its correct position.
Oh, and cut a hole for the flashlight led of the phone.
I used J-B-Kwik.
I uses the glue also at the outside to provice stability:
the case is just a bit to small for phone and receiver but it holds the phone nicely.
I forgot my qi charge at the office so I cannot provice a image with the phone charging, I can take a picture tomorrow.
Yes, the performance would be better if the receiver is mounted below the plastic case between plastic and leather. But is is to big for that. Even cutten the edged is not enough.
Here is a comparison with the old, non working receiver, it is smaller and I cut the edged.
I works well enough.
Hopefully this would be usefull for somebody.
I you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.

PowerWave II Pad - Vehicle Usage

I see the input is 12v 2A using the provided charger.
I would like to add one of these right under the surface of a custom console. It would be under a vinyl wrap - like an adhesive woodgrain vinyl, not vinyl like seat covering material.
I've seen videos of people doing the same but using a 12v cigarette lighter to usb adapter.
This one is a little different since it comes with a wall charger. Additionally I'd like to hardwire it to a fused 12v source (distribution/fuse block).
Possible? Concerns?
