[Q] ME572c Battery Drain Question - MeMO Pad 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Just got my ME572c and it runs great, the only exception being huge drain from Android OS. After leaving home at 7, by 11 am the battery is down to 80% and in battery stats, the CPU total is extremely high (3 hours), but the keep awake time is only 40 seconds.
Anyone else have this issue or a solution?

Hi! I have the same issue currently running on Android 5.0.1 and additional to this the touch screen has a strange behavior when receiving multi touch. Did you solve your problem?

I just raised a support ticket about this issue towards ASUS

[Q] How too improve battery life

I wonder i just bought a new Xperia T (james bond version).
But what i found out is that the phone is really fast empty.
I had a htc one v, and i didnt use my phone and was up to 60-70%,
With my xperia T i will not even make the complete work day (most of the time the phone is in my pocket)
I did do bravia engine off, screen in the middle/dark, auto on/off.
I do have sync on, facebook/twitter but dont the auto one that you can setup with sony
I run the same apps as i did on my htc.. but why is it empty so quick?
Is it a software issue because the phone is so new?
Please post in the correct forum. There's even a sticky about this in the General section.
Thanks

Check out the battery life thread.

There have been mixed results on battery life. Personally my phone has been great on battery life but I'm careful what I install and keep an eye on what might be draining my charge.
If you don't have 5-6 hours screen time and your phone is still discharging within 12 hours or so then it's likely to be an app hammering your battery.

You could also try installing CPU Spy to make sure the phone is going into deep sleep mode.
You could also try turning off WiFi when not in use to see if that makes a difference.

[Q]Galaxy Note stuck at bootscreen (GB 2.3.6)

Hi,
I was playing a game with my phone when suddenly the phone crashed (errors about framework or something) and now it is stuck at the bootscreen. Anyone who can help me?
It's running GB 2.3.6, rooted phone. I'm able to get into CWM-recovery and downloade mode.
I have a backup from a week ago but I don't want to lose my data from last week.
Thanks
The least you could do is clear cache and dalvik cache and see if your phone boots. If not..data wipe is the only way.

There is one more FIX PERMISSION
First of all thanks for the replies. I ran a full recovery backup yesterday and my problem was "solved".
Today I played The Simpsons again and my screen started flikkering. I thought it was due to low battery but I still had 60-70% battery.
When I rebooted my phone I could start it, fill in my pin code and it worked-ish. After a few seconds my screen started flikkering again and shut off my phone.
I turned it on again and quickly went into flight mode, everything seemed fine, untill I activated my 3g connection again. The screen started flikkering immediatly again and shut my phone off. You guys know what possible could be going on?
-edit-
It is also flickering when in flight mode...When there is load it flickers it seems...
Battery problems. I just faced the same problem like right now.
Was stuck at boot screen :/
Keep your phone for charging for like 15 minutes.
Recovery will work.

Change that battery of yours. it should solve everything, if the battery is bloated

I'm thinking it's the battery too because the battery doesn't seem to fit very well, it's a bit wobbely
I replaced my battery, everything is working fine now. Gonna send my old battery to Samsung to see what they will say about it.
???.. are they accepting faulty batteries? i have 2... may be they can figure out what going on

ConnectivityService wakelock - Wifi off

YHey everyone!
Recently I was able to pinpoint some problem that happens on my Moto X (xt1052 GB retail) with 4.4.4 rom.
I observed that switching off WIFI causes massive ConnectivityService wakelock. Every time I turn off the WiFi (could be through Tasker, could be manually) my phone collects 1 minute wakelock.
I verified that behavior by performing multiple tests with BBS and Gsam.
My setup:
- installed Xposed + Gravity Box
- installed Greenify
- no social apps like Facebook, Tweater
- Sync is totally switched off.
- No services like Google Play Services or Framework are disabled (either with Android Tunner or other similar apps)
- Location Services were enabled (battery save) and disabled - no impact.
So I was wondering if any of you guys and girls who has BBS or Gsam could do similar test and let me know if they experience same issue?
Test procedure:
- reset stats (i.e in BBS set custom point)
- enable WiFi and wait a minute
- check if there is ConnectivityService partial wakelock
- disable WiFi (manually)
- check BBS again for above wakelock
Note!
This wakelock will not appear if you do the test with Mobile Data. For me it only shows up with WiFi.
Thanks!

Do you have "always scan for WiFi blah blah" enabled in WiFi advanced settings? If so, turn it off.

Wait....one minute wakelock? How much total a day?

No I don't have that option enabled.
Yes the wakelock gets higher for about 1 minute every time you switch off WiFi.
I am using Tasker profile to switch off my WiFi and mobile data one the screen goes off. However it makes no difference if Taker is involved or not cause manual test gives same result.
So the total amount of time consumed by that wakelock depends on how many times I turn on and off the screen while being at home (out I am using Mobile Data which Tasker controls the same way without that wakelock)

Honestly, WiFi shouldn't cause nearly any drain if there's no related issues. So leaving it on is the best solution.
Chances are connecting/ disconnecting x amount of times a day is causing you more battery drain than leaving it on. On top of the wakelock. Which for your setup could be a perfectly normal wakelock.
I bet leaving it on would obviously get rid of the wakelock....and actually better your battery life overall.. :good:

Oh, and same goes for data....though data can use far more battery life up if the signal is not excellent. So disabling data can be smart if signal isn't top notch.
But again, disabling WiFi when screen is off isn't probably helping....more likely hurting.

KJ thanks for the tip. I was thinking about leaving WiFi on but it will not prevent any app that needs (usually that Google stuff to use the connection) - drain battery.
Moreover I was wondering if this is only related to my phone or other owners of Moto can observe the same. The test is pretty straightforward so if you or anyone could test out and let me know I will be glad!
EDIT:
I finally found circumstances under which this wakelock occurs. When the 'Mobile Data' is switched off (i.e. by toggle in notification area) and you switch off Wifi this wakelock appears. It looks like it is searching for alternative source of network connectivity for a minute.
If you turn on mobile data and then switch off Wifi it will not appear or will be there but for a very short time.

Some information regarding my phone;
1) Stock software, (N920C) Baseband N920CXXU1AOH2 with build nr LMY47X.N920CXXU1AOH4
2) Already tried clean cache,
3) Already tried re-installed stock firmware from Sammobile,
Have Package Disabler Pro and GSam Battery Monitor. Please help.
P.S. : The following seem to be running all the time; (for almost 16hrs!)
Fingerprint, SecurityManagerService, DeviceTest, Passpoint Settings, Security policy updates, tuiService, SmartcardService, Context Service, Google Services, Adapt Sound, Email sync, Email storage, Email, GameService, com.sec.android.app.FlashBarS.., com.sec.android.app.SmartClip..
P.S. : With the info below if i use a different rom does that solve my problem?!
Now i gotta recharge.
Your helps are appreciated;
i have the same issue with the same model (UAE) here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/note5/help/heavy-standby-battery-drain-t3207782
i have a massive standby drain during my night sleep i loose around 30% or more of the battery, i tried switching off Wifi and mobile data and the issue didn't occur as i just lost 1% only over 7 hours standby but we cannot go on like that!! , I believe its a Lollipop bug and hopefully it will be resolved with marshmallow update, otherwise we have to root the device to solve the issue then we will loose our warranty and official updates.

I'm wondering if we flash the 4 Rom files in this thread: "http://forum.xda-developers.com/note5/general/project-noble-firmware-pit-file-galaxy-t3179529 - All model" would solve the issue
