Hello everyone,
I have a HTC One M7 UL 801s, Taiwan version. I came across an OTA update yesterday, version - 7.18.708.21 weighing in at 379.31 MB Labelled as "System Enhancement".
My One is rooted with TWRP recovery and Elemental X Kernel, busybox installed.
Is it safe for me to install this update with my current setup?
Also, can anyone let me know where I can find a changelog for this version?

No, look around in the Q&A section and in the general section ota update thread. Lots of (my phone can't boot, stuck at HTC screen after x.xx.xxx.21/.22 ota update). Return back to 100% stock (stock kernel, stock system, stock recovery) before attempting to update or you'll have to ruu back to your previous version (only possible if you have s-off) or you'll need to flash a rom.

I looked around question wise, didn't see much.
Anyways, I have a Sprint HTC One - last Summer while on 4.1.2 stock, I unlocked, installed a custom recovery, and rooted it.
I have not really bothered updating, but I decided to take the jump to 4.4. What is the easiest way of doing this?
Can I just download the 4.4.2 Zip to my internal memory, and flash from recovery?
Info:
Sprint HTC One
Android 4.1.2
S-On with the Disable System Write Protection installed.
TWRP 2.5.0.0

That should be what you need. So far I don't know if you can flash kit kat firmware but prior firmwares you can.

Make sure your custom recovery is up to date before doing any rom flashing. There were some people that had problems when they tried to flash the 4.3 update on an older version of both CWM and TWRP. They had a problem where the custom recovery touch versions stopped responding to touch.
I just flashed the Bad Boys KK rom without installing a new firmware and everything has been great. But you might want to install at least the maintenance firmware update that came out a couple weeks ago as it fixed some PRL update issues. To flash the firmware you need to do that from a PC connected via usb to the HTC.
Good luck
Hi
I bought an at&t htc one (m7) mobile from the us
i managed to unlock it with a code. My issue is that the current software is android 4.1.2, Sense 5 and the mobile cannot find the updates (guess because I am outside of the US)
What should i do to get the update
can I download the latest software from the internet and do a flash recovery? or should I flash it with earlier updates first?
Is there an easier way to update?
Can you please explain how to do flash recovery?
Many thanks

You will only get OTA if you are on ATT. To get the update if you are not on att you will have to flash the ruu or root and flash one of the zips.
since you are outside US i would recommend you to flash an international stock rom on to your phone. If you manage to install a stock rom with its stock recovery you can get automatic OTA updates and be running the latest sense 6. but it depends on how much you know and how much you are willing to read and learn.. what i would do
1. s-off
2. supercid
3. modelid: PN0710000
and then install the [SYSTEM DUMP][07.06.2014] HTC One *STOCK* ROM | 5.11.401.10 | KitKat 4.4.2 | HTC Sense 6.0

Thank you all for the replies
I sent it with a friend back to the us because I could not find simple step by step instructions
My friend made the update using the AT&T software update option
However, he did not get the sense 6 or the newest Android version
Does he need to do it several times?
Many thanks
Guys, I have 901E and on android 4.4 with sense 5.5, my device is rooted, bootloader unlocked and S-ON, I am trying to update to Sense 6, as I received an OTA update, as I did before, I returned back to stock ROM that available in this article (DLXPUL_TW_1.21.709.3.zip), then downloading the OTA directly from device, but currently when the update finish, device keeps going on boot loop, (starting device>>>hTC logo appear>>>then restart again), I need to flash boot image from the OTA file in order to bypass this issue......
please advise
EDIT: when updating from 4.2.2 to 4.3 (stuck on boot loop, need to flash boot.img)
when updating from 4.3 to 4.4.2 w/sense 5.5 stuck on the white screen with htc logo and beats audio
I made the same procedure before when I got 4.4.2 update with Sense 5.5 as I was also rooted on 4.3, please help, I might forget some steps....
Guys please advise......

Well, I, for one, can't help you because from your first post it is not clear at all what you did and what went wrong. Or what exactly you need from us. If you need the firmware image to flash, then just download the OTA package linked elsewhere in this forum, and extract the firmware from there. If you need more help, be more clear.

koniiiik thanks for your reply, let try to make it more clear....
- what I want: want to update my current version of Android.
- what I had before: Android 4.4.2 with Sense 5.5 and want to update to 4.4.2 with Sense 6 (as I received a notification to update).
- what modification I had: bootloader unlocked with htcdev, device is rooted, S-ON and TWRP installed.
- what I did: I flashed the stock ROM for my device (Android 4.2.2) in order to remove root and return to stock recovery and a complete stock ROM.
- why I did the last step: in order to get the OTA directly from device one by one (from 4.2.2 w/sense5 then 4.3 w/sense5.5 then 4.4.2 w/sense 5.5 and finally to 4.4.2 w/sense6).
- what I got: after flashing the stock ROM (Android 4.2.2 w/sense5) through TWRP, device works fine.
- then after downloading the OTA (4.3 w/sense 5.5) device stuck on bootloop
- what I did to bypass this issue: flashing boot.img from the OTA file.
- what I did next: downloaded the OTA (4.4.2 w/sense5.5) directly from the device, and install it.
- what I got: stuck on the white screen with htc logo (please not colors are not correct on the htc logo)
- what I did: tried to flash the boot.img from the OTA file, but this cannot help (just the colors are fine now)
- what is my question: why I need to flash boot.img as mentioned above? and how to get the 4.4.2 with sense 5.5 work (please be informed that I did the same steps to update to android 4.4.2 with sense 5.5 and everything works fine without any issues and no need to flash the boot.img as I mentioned before)

How did you install the OTA updates? Did you flash the stock recovery first, or were you trying to do that with TWRP? Did you try to download and install OTA updates by hand or did you let the phone itself download and install them? What are the precise version numbers involved? I'm not just interested in numbers such as 4.2.2, 4.3 or 4.4, but the full version string of the ROM, in each step. It sounds to me like you're trying to mix different branches of the system.

my friend I am not trying to mix anything, I just flashed ROM version 1.21.709.3 as mentioned above which it is available in the butterfly s General section through TWRP as mentioned also in the instructions in order to return back to stock, means stock ROM and recovery, then leaving the phone to download and install updates by itself

In that case I don't know. You might try to use the latest stock recovery, when installing the 3.06.708.3 update on my phone I found that I had to use the recovery from that update; using anything older just failed.
Hi guys,
I'm trying to update Android HD Revolution for M8 (unlocked, intl version, soff, supercid). Wifi wasnt working, and read that I need to upgrade to the latest firmware (I at first thought firmware was included with custom roms .. i appear to be wrong)
Which firmware to I download? I am looking here:
xda7.androidrevolution.org/db_mirror/Firmware/index.php?dir=HTC%2FHTC_One_M8%2F
and there's tons! I fastboot getvar all and main-var is blank !
(screenshot attached)
Which one do I download?
Bonus question: Should I update root, or once it's already rooted, it can update itself?
Thanks guys. I'm OK at this stuff but no where near an expert.

Well first off, you're in the wrong section, this is HTC One M7, the HTC One M8 is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-m8
2nd, the missing version-main, is due to a bug in some TWRP versions, but hboot 3.16 would indicate you are still on a 1.xx firmware
there are several guides/collections in the M8 forums for firmware updates (i'm not going to post links here, so as not to confuse M8 vs M7), you should check vomer's, sneakyghost's (and several others) collections in the M8 section
some of the firmwares are "combined ones" (means they include all previous updates), others are incremental, so when in doubt, flash the firmwares incrementally
(on a side note, i used sneakyghost's 3.28.401.9 combined nowipe zip, and went from 1.54.401.10 straight to 3.28.401.9)
Hello,
i'm having some problems when update my phone with the rom 6.20.651.3 version.
My phone is sprint version, s-Off, unlocked and using twrp recovery. I have installed the firmware (no boot no recovery) and everything looks fine so far.
I did try the official ruu downloaded from htc site and my phone get stucked on
htc logo screen. I manage to get him working again but now i'm running out of options, don't know what rom i should use.
I've been follow this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2729173
any ideas, i'm a noob on that matter.
I've been thinking, that a stock rooted rom could solve my problem, what you guys think?
thanks in advance.
