I have an Xperia Z1, with 4.4.4, and 14.4.a.0.157
My other phone was an Xperia Z1, with 4.4.....2? And 14.3.....something with a 5 at the end
I just got this phone from Sony, as my old one I had to RMA due to battery issues.
They sent me a new one, which was updated to 4.4.4, and .157 (FFUUU because I couldn't restore any of my apps/data!)
I'm using the same sim card, tested and working in my Xperia Ion
I have the correct APN settings. I called ATT and quadruple checked.
SMS = perfect
I can browse the internet, no issues
1. I can attach a picture, but it's stuck at "queued for sending" until I restart my phone
2. If anyone else sends me an MMS, I won't be able to download/open it until I restart my phone
(note, it only works for a minute, until I get stuck again and need to restart AGAIN)
I just rooted my phone, could that be the issue? I got it yesterday so I didn't try to send an MMS until after I rooted.
Please help me, I only have 1 month for this "new" phone to call in for an RMA AGAIN
What are my options here?
Set Hangouts as default SMS app.

I really wanted to avoid doing that... as I like the default Sony messaging app better.

Hey all,
Recently, my Galaxy will not download any sort of MMS messages, whether they be picture messages or part of group messages. The message will just be a pending download for a minute or two, then stop and say "Error: network error occurred". I have contacted AT&T tech support many times, where they reset my phone's connection to the network. I will get exactly two MMS to come through and then the problem starts again. Every third MMS, I have to contact tech support again.
My phone is rooted with towelroot, but I noticed the problem before I rooted it. Any suggestions on what this might be? I'm about at the point of trying a factory restore on the phone to see if it fixes it, but I'd rather not if at all possible. Thanks!
Try setting the apn for the phone. After installing a ROM from the international S5 my phone wouldn't download MMS. I fixed it by setting my apn.

Hi all.
I brought a new Xperia SP about a month ago and it works very nice and I dont have any problem with my phone.
but about 3 days ago till now my messaging application encountered a strange problem that receive the others sms and dont send correctly my sms and after sending a message shows me a message by this content: " could not send".
my Android version is 4.3 not rooted and orginal ROM and the operator is IR-MCI.
I replace another SIM to my phone and the problem is still here and by inserting my SIM in another phone there was no problem and the message sending completed successfully.
what should I do? and what is the problem dears?
Thanks in advance.
sorry for my bad english.
.
You can always backup and hard reset your phone to see if the problem is still there. If it is, give it to Sony for repair since your phone is not rooted.

Ok, I've got something odd going on and to be honest I'm not sure if it's a T-Mobile Nexus 6 based issue or something on the other end (Oneplus One).
I have one contact in particular that can receive sms and mms messages from me with no issue but I can only receive mms messages from him. If it's a standard sms I never get it. It's really odd. Considering he can get both types from me but not the other way around makes me wonder if the issue is on my end.
I just updated to 5.1.1 and still no change. This was with a factory reset and not restoring the old data either (so nothing corrupted came from the update).
This happens regardless of what messaging program I use (Textra, stock messaging app, etc).
Anyone have any suggestions?
I would expect it to be more network than phone. Try and get a test sim from another provider in your phone.
Okay, so I'm not sure what is going on with my phone, but here it goes. I am currently using a Droid Turbo on Cricket Wireless (AT&T MNVO). I updated the phone to Lollipop yesterday and all seemed fine until I sent an MMS. I got a response from my friend, who asked if I had sent him a picture, which I had. My friend took a screenshot of the picture message I sent to him and it shows that it originated from a phone number with "346" (Houston, TX) area code, which is not my number as I am in southern California and have a 909 area code. I sent another MMS to him, but that message showed it originated from another 346 area code, completely different form the first 346 number. I did this several times with the same result.
I rebooted the phone & did several factory resets, but the same thing happens with whenever I send an MMS. SMS messages on the other hand work fine and show that they originate from my number. I checked the APN settings, allowed Cricket to send the auto configuration APN's, and even manually put in their APN's, but I get the same result. I tried different messaging apps (stock, ChompSMS, Next SMS, Hangouts, etc.) and they all do the same thing.
Called Cricket, but since it's prepaid service, they "reset" my network settings and told me they could not provide any further assistance with my phone. I put my SIM card back into my old iPhone and sent an MMS, which sent & was received normally.
I'm not sure what the issue is, any help would be much appreciated.
Well, after a week of hopelessness, another factory reset seems to have finally done the trick. Everything is back to normal now, still have no clue what went wrong with my messages.
