How can I disable the cursor from moving when using side scroll in Android Studio? Really stupid "feature".

I have a Tilt running the official HTC WWE ROM.
I don't like how once you open the keyboard, you scroll the scrollwheel to the left to scroll downwards. I realize this is done because scrolling to the left is really 'down' when you hold the device upright, but somehow it just seems to me like scrolling to the right is the natural 'down' direction when the device is held sideways.
Is there any way to change the registry so that you can scroll right to go downwards? Keep in mind this must not affect way the scrollwheel scrolls when the keyboard is closed.
With AE Buttons Plus we can assign programs to the Home key and the Back key and such.
Latest multi-touch demons showed that these keys can sense our fingers even without applying force on them to press.
What I wonder is, can we program them to run certain applications by just moving our fingers on them? Wouldn't it be wonderful?
Somethin like:
swipe left - minimize
swipe right - start menu
swipe up - media player
etc. etc.
does anyone know how to disable the wheel scrolling on the diamond, its one of the most annoying features if all you want to do is scroll down or up and the wheel turns so far down or up you end up calling or missing the person you want to call.
Err .... what wheel scrolling?? Are you thinking of the scrolling ring around the outside of the central button? If so what are you trying to do with it, because in my phone it is not set up to scroll through contacts?
yeah the scroll ring, how do i disable it scrolling through contacts or any other action assigned to it
Dunno .... mine has never worked that way and according to the manual the scrolling ring is only used for zooming in or out in certain programmes (not the contact list) and not for scrolling up or down.
Are you sure you are not thinking of the up and down buttons that are above and below the button (not part of the scrolling ring). As far as I know that is the only way to move up and down on the buttons. Otherwise it is finger scrolling on the screen - which is what i use
It defiantly scrolls up and down, when i am using the phone, it only zooms in and out when i am in opera.
It really annoys me, because whenever i want to move up and down it will scroll up or down x10 as you move your finger around the ring.
to disable/enable:
simply download diamond tweak
19. Touch-sensitive Wheel
19.1 Disable
19.2 Disable
19.3 Disable
19.4 Disable
19.5 Disable
19.6 Disable
19.7 Disable
Easy...
do you have a url?
Just checked mine no ring scrolling here either stock telstra rom no tweeks....
I don't have the scrolling feature using the wheel. Does anyone know how can I enable the scrolling feature? Is there a cab where I can download for this feature? It's a cool feature for me.
As far as I know, GScroll will implement the scrolling features.
I hate the fact that when I try to zoom in using the dreaded right button, the volume adjust window pops up...is there any way to program the wheel to work similar to Opera, where a simple clockwise/anti-clockwise motion zooms in and out?
With the advent of Nookie Froyo and rumors of CM7 only one thing makes me Pissed off as heck. HARD BUTTONS!!!!! Of course, we could map the volume buttons for these things, but I have a proposal/wish (Since I can't program --_--)
Is there anyone who could make a app so that long pressing a volume button would bring up or lower the volume, and tapping them slightly would trigger the back button or menu button? Or vice versa?
I think this would kill our needs for soft-keys or any annoying launcher stuff. Just a wish. tell me if this is possible plx
or... double tap them --_--
I don't program either, but I was just thinking about alternative methods too, since I find soft keys annoyingly unelegant as well. I like the remapping of the hard volume keys for long presses idea. Another option might be to take a play from the jailbroken iphone book where Activator can launch programs or perform system actions with gestures (swiping in from the top, or tapping the volume indicator box after voluming up/ down, etc) - sort of like how swiping left on the nook status bar goes back or how swiping down the left side of the screen in fbreader changes the brightness of the display. Could be a system wide action where swiping left at the bottom if the screen regardless of if the status bar is visible would go back while swiping right would invoke the menu...
Sent from my Nook Color (1Ghz oc kernel, Android 2.1)
hmm.. well, I guess I'll just have to stick with soft buttons for now. {presses the nook color home button to death}
Several Apps That I Use...
Have gestures that allow the functions that you folks mentioned. For example, Aldiko has a great brightness adjust by swiping down one side of the screen, and Dolphin HD has a lot of gesture-activated commands.
I'm not a programmer but some bright dev out there might be able to come up with the appropriate calls to allow gestures for volume - what about a poll?
