Go back to stock ROM. Stop using alpha/beta custom firmware when you don't even know how to safely handle overheating. Also NEVER overclock.
If you still have heat after flashing stock Ftf, you have permanently damaged your device from overclocking/unstable kernels.

Cm12.1 is not "clean", it's got a custom kernel. I went back to stock for this reason. I can watch 1080p video and play intensive games on stock firmware + kernel, barely gets warm but was getting too hot on anything else!

Just... HIGH

Hello guys! Okay, I have the bootloader locked, so STOCK *laggy* KERNEL. Today I was playing with the CPU freq and It's says "DON'T PUT OVER THAN 749mzh", and I put to 806mzh, I the mobile DIDN'T reboot or anything, It's was TOO fast, not laggy in ANY part, and just wondering, Can I put those freq. to play games? It's risk? Because It's TOO high.
The 806mzh freq. was about one o two minutes...
806mzh are risk and unestable, right?
Thanks a lot guys!
Its safe ...for breakfast you know frying eggs , toast , all that requires hot stuff.

Anyway, when I was on stock kernel, I overclocked my phone to 806mhz as you, it didn't rebooted, I could play games without reboot. I used with GingerXperia V8, and it was really fast.
Thanks!
Thanks for answering! Okay, I think my phone it's going to explote RIGHT NOW, so, I just tryed
I'm not a lover of the games, I only use my phone to use the social applications, just when I'm in the school I want to play something FUNNY.
Okay guys, thanks for answering.
See you later! :good:

Phone getting hot while using

Hi guys, i need all of yours expert advice. My SGS3 I9305 gets hot while using. The rear bottom part of the phone gets pretty hot where the sim card is and i can also feel it on sceen while tapping. I dont do too much with the phone except using viber so often, moderate browsing and using apex launcher for theming. I was wondering should I take it to Samsung service centre? Please leave ur expert advice. Thanks in advance

Is your phone overclocked? Is there some app that doesn't let your phone deep sleep? Try installing Better Battery Stats and take a look what's happening with your phone when you are not looking at it

I have this problems also...
It gets hot when using any type of mobile data signal...
And it gets annoying to use the phone after a while...
And coming from an S Advance I feel this heat to be very uncomfortable....
I've been wondering if this is common with everyone....

Battery life

My battery life is really bad that i have to charge the phone twice a day sometimes more
i tried every thing said here on the forums, i disabled LG bloatware, i lowered the brightness to 0% but with no luck
so is the only way is to unlock the device and install a custom rom? or could it be the battery hardware itself? because i realized that the battery charges really fast, also i just got the phone 4 days ago is it normal that out of the box the battery life is this bad?
EDIT: it looks like i'm running UAE firmware, would it help if i flashed a kdz file for a European firmware? if yes which firmware should i install from these http://lg-phone-firmware.com/index.php?

Using a different kernel would be the better idea IMO

i just installed werewolf v8 kernel. Works great on CM10.1.2 RC1.
3h on screen
24h on battery

Overheating Issue

Please help
I tried to watched a movie on my XSP but I couldn't watched it for a 10 mints. It got heated so much and I even couldn't touch my phone.
I was in ExsitenZ ROM and I tried the same with CM 10.1 also but got the same thing happened.
But earlier I watched movies on official Sony firmwares with minimum or no heating.
Can someone try this out (Watch a movie) and help me on how to avoid overheating issues.
Sent from my C5303 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Check the following:
- Original kernel of eXistenZ ROM? (probaly since im not sure if you unlocke your bootloader) > Impossible to oc
- Other apps running at 100%?
- No case or bumper on it? (can also heat it extra up)
I'm on unlocked boot loader. I initially used original stock kernel with CWM and TWERP and now use CM kernel.Normally I play movies via MX Player and I use a flip cover on my XP.I will check for background apps running. What other things I can do to avoid this extream heating.
Thank u very much for your reply.

What is "overheating" for you? My phone gets over 49°c while playing Ingress o Real Racing 3. October 17: I was playing while waiting for a customer, and all of a sudden the phone started to get really REALLY hot. Over 52 degrees celcius on 100% stock Sony, just rooted. Locked bootloader, stock kernel stock everythinh and still overheats

Wow almost 53C ... my C5306 never passes 42C when gaming Real Racing 3 for about an hour... if it doesn't suddenly closes that is (lol 10 captchas to post this...)

Incredibly poor battery

OK, so I have a 920I running 5.1.1, and today I was almost fully on mobile data. And I got truly, down to earth, horrible battery life. How bad you might ask? 1 percent every ten minutes. 6 percent an hour. In standby. SOT stood at 1h 20m.

So, anyone have any explanation? I barely have any apps on here: WhatsApp, Clash Royale and Clans, Snapchat (not logged in) and Tapatalk. Thats it. I just factory reset the phone last week too.
Im starting to think there's something with my Google account, as poor battery life seems to carry over on every Android device I own. My gmail account is particularly old, since 2007 if im not wrong, so perhaps theres an issue with that?
Nevertheless, ANY suggestions are welcome.

It seems you played that new supercell game a lot.
Try package disabler pro? That usually helps with battery or try wipe cache and finally if those dont work than try reeset phone.

Not nearly enough to make the phone's battery suck this bad. My Moto X takes only a very slight hit when playing.
