I was recently fortunate enough to be chosen to review a new case for the LG G4. I have been using a versus wallet case for my note 4 off and on (depending on work etc etc) so I was excited to try another wallet case!
First impressions of the case-
I received very quickly from Amazon and good packaging making sure case wasn't flattened. I think you can tell a lot about a product by shipper/seller's packaging. Very well packaged ready to go. I immediatley put my G4 (leather back edition) and it stuck like glue. I tried to get out and could not it was in there good, very good. Very impressed with the strength to hold it. Sold my leather back one and I currently now have a regular gray back one and it fits just as tight. I thought the leather one fit snugly because as you know the leather is a little thicker but both fit very tight and will not go anywhere. Leather is very nice and much better then my note 4 versus case. Feel is superb and it even smells like real leather!!!! Very impressive! Onto a little pro/con list for the Artech21 Full Leather Case.
Pros:
Feel of leather (best feel of a leather case)
Quality of leather (best leather on a phone case I have seen)
Stitching (some of the best I have seen)
Clasp (best I have seen, very small yet sturdy and hides away when case open unlike others)
Cons:
Cutouts by camera/volume buttons (short explanation needed here imo, just a little funky looking does not effect case or functionality just worth mentioning, could just be because it was one of the first produced)
Top/Bottom bezels are exposed (can't complain a whole lot here as my versus case on my note 4 is the same way and haven't seen another wallet case that is enclosed completely)
Neither are deal breakers
A few photos to show quality and color of it.
Personally I love the tan color some may not as they also offer a nice vintage brown (very dark color)
This photo shows the cutouts off center a tad around power/volume buttons
A look of it laying flat and the little strong clasp
Close up of clasp
Ignore the dust on the screen, my new screen protector isn't here yet lol
Notice the quality difference in the leather, Artech is much higher and not cheap like versus
Notice both are open at both ends. In a perfect world it would be closed all the way around the bezels
Notice how with the tiny clasp it sits flat compared to the versus note 4 case which will not lay flat

Thanks for thorough the review and good pics. Were you able to assess how well the wallet component of the case worked; does is close properly when filled with credit cards/id/cash?

Just a note, when I received my case, the bezel is covered all the way around. I got the darker version, so not sure if it was a design change or variation. I'll be doing my review sometime soon.

I am looking for the best REAL leather case that anyone knows of that will be out. Or even some high quality leather case maker that you have used on another phone that you do not know if it will come out. I am tired of searching and I like the zenus but before I commit to 60+ on a case (I rarely buy cases so this is going to be the one I commit to) I would like to see all the best options and opinions

Mannnn that is prettty
man, if I could just get that next model:
http://www.noreve.com/langue/en/product/Samsung_Galaxy_Note_2_Tradition_B_leather_case.html
without the snap closure, I would be a happy man. That case looks perfect.
Wish I could find one that for the card slots had a clear cover for one so I can stick my license in it, and have it be visible.
I have this one and very happy with it : w ww.pdair.com/index.php/leather-case-for-samsung-galaxy-note-ii-n7100-flip-type-black-1.html (sorry link restriction for new member prevent to post a working link)
I just order the Spigen Valentinus case in Vintage brown. w ww.amazon.com/SPIGEN-SGP-Valentinus-Protection-International/dp/B009ZG8DZ4/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1352127399&sr=8-6&keywords=spigen+note+2 (New member restriction)
I was also interested in the Zenus case but didn't like the "accents" on the front. There is also Puhama case (Expensive Handmade) ww w.etsy.com/listing/111843451/hc10-hand-stitched-handmade-personalized?ref=sr_gallery_19&ga_search_query=note+2+leather&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_ship_to=US&ga_search_type=all

Then you have the ones from China.. Ebay obviously has a lot. This is one of the few that stood out to me ww w.ebay.com/itm/Brown-Deluxe-Leather-Card-Stand-Flip-Wallet-Case-for-Samsung-Galaxy-Note-2-N7100-/130792440457?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item1e73d64289
Be warned with that last one, it has a magnet clasp, I was going to tear out the magnet and install a snap if I had purchased the case. I did not want to wait for it to arrive from China though.
Once the Spigen case gets here I will do a review and upload a couple photos. (New member restrictions permitting  )
Apparently I am no good at searching since I have never seen any of these except the pdair and spigen

No problem, just another forewarning that it has a magnetic clasp system. It might affect the screen, creating a dead spot while in the case. Not too sure if it can cause permanent issues just know there was a thread going around warning about the issues with magnet cases. I'm also assuming for that price that its faux leather, just another aspect of the case to bear in mind. Other than that it does look pretty nice :good:

Yeah, my hope is the magnet is too weak to cause issues.
This will be my theme park case so I can consolidate my wallet and phone into one.
And for the price I won't mind if it takes some damage unlike the cases that are 4-5x as much.

so i decided to say screw it an order the deep khaki color of that case
Hey guys. I just received two Duzign valor cases (blue and red). These are seriously amazing in terms of look and feel for thin cases. The valor serious had a soft matte finish. The look is similar to seido surface colors. My cases are cut out perfectly without any random sharp edges.
I have two elago cases (hard plastic smooth white and soft matte black) as well and the Duzign feel and look way better. The elago cases are way more slippery esp the matte black (it also has bad cutting with two random sharp edges at the top showing that it wasn't perfectly cut).
I also own uag navigator, cruzerlite tpu, mercury tpu, fosman kickstand hb tpu, and cimo tpu. I just ordered the Spigen wallet posted in the threads. I want to test these Duzign cases in it to see how they fit. I will be posting detailed reviews of all my cases soon, but thought I'd share my findings for anyone wanting beautiful thin cases that really are on par/better than the big names.

Got this in. Very nice and well made. My only issue with almost all the cases I have bought is it makes the phone unusable with one hand. I keep going back to not using a case at all.
But if you want good protection and a well built case this is it.

Then, you don't really need the outer plastic frame with kickstand to hold it together and can use inner TPU shell by itself? The reason why I"m asking, among other case I have a similar designed case but with soft silicon inner shell (first one in my post HERE) and it was a true garbage because soft silicon was pulling and I had to use outer plastic frame to hold it together from slipping of the phone. This Duzign case kinds of looks similar but sounds like a much better design!

I second that. I ordered at the same time that you did and just got mine here in CO. Black/black
It's so cold outside that when I got the case into the house I thought it needed to warm up because the inner TPU was hard. Little did I know, I've been dealing with soft style TPUs as mentioned.. This is truly a very nice case for $9.
Also, the exoskeleton shell fits on my cruzerlite circuit case! Win, win.
The Spen cutout, speaker, mics and usb ports are all perfect. Very happy customer (even though it took too long [by my standards] to arrive)
I saw it on ebay $6 shipped, local US seller. Very tempting. How is button response, too hard or soft? How about color of white inner case, how close is it to white of the phone?

Don't trust pics because of overexposed flash My cheapo ebay case with silicone inner shell had perfect color match. UAG Navigator (white) is a different shade of white, although not a problem because of black bumper thus white part of case doesn't come in contact with a phone.
I've got the Case-Mate Tough Case and even though it has the little bump pattern on it it's way too slippery... it's not rubbery feeling like it looks in the pictures...
And I've spent the better part of a week reading reviews and searching and can't find a good answer... So what's the best case for GRIP? Preferably it should give decent protection, not be too big (I don't want something like the huge Otterbox or Seidio Active) and have a lip on the front to protect the screen.. other than that I just want it to actually be GRIPPY!!! This phone is huge (it's awesome, but huge) and I really need some grippiness on the back so that I can one-hand it... I've looked at the Aegis, Ballistic, UAG and others but there are mixed reviews as to the actual feel of the outside. I want something that I can lay it in my hand at a slight angle and it won't just slide off... The Case-Mate really checks all the boxes except for the fact that it's just so dang slippery!!
So if you've personally got a case/used one that you find exhibits exceptional "grippability" then toss a dog a bone and hook me up..
Thanks everyone..
(and if you're in the market for a Case-Mate Tough case then I'll make ya a deal....although it's prolly not worth the shipping..lol)
Not sure but I use a Body Glove and its pretty grippy around the sides (not so on the flat back tho). I remember hearing of some adhesive kind of like Flygrip but cheaper kind of like tape/sticker which you could apply to all kinds of different things altho they made some specifically for phones and other devices to give you a better grip .
First off I'll take that case mate if you're in North America definitely not worth the shipping otherwise. Anyway I would assume any tpu case is as grippy as you're going to get but there's a protection trade-off obviously. You could try getting a flygrip or a sling grip. I have the fly on my otterbox/zl setup and it's definitely the best one handed solution I just feel super nerdy using it lol.

PM me if you really want the Case-Mate, I'll prolly keep it until I find something better though, it's slippery but at least it's protected when it falls.. And yeah, I had a Fly Grip, but I made the mistake of selling it with the phone I had at the time, plus I pocket this slab of a phone and I'm not sure I could handle the extra bump on the back...
No rush I'm just a case hoarder lol. If you find something else hit me up.

I don't think anything comes close to a cheap gel rubber case for sheer grippines. There are any number of brands that can be had for 4 bucks shipped and I keep one around for when I want to sit and read manga.
They suck for sliding in and out of a tight pocket though. There is a point of being too grippy.

I have this case in black (also a couple of other colors). It has grippy ribbing on the sides and the Android logo on the back is matte ... overall a reasonable balance between grip and something that will go in and out of your pocket.

The kickstand is kind of hard to use but I hardly ever use it. Honestly that wasn't one of the reasons why I decided to buy the case. I had one of these cases on my BlackBerry Bold 9900 before I bought my GN2. I like that my phone feels solid in my hand, it's not too bulky, it's easy to put on/take off and it offers great protection. I already had one drop when my GN2 fell out of my jacket pocket from about three feet to asphalt and the only wrong was my case had a small scough mark. I like the case. This is just my opinion.

Does that case have any kind of lip on the front so you can lay the phone on it's screen and it won't touch the surface? I couldn't tell from the pics on that site?

Yes, the case has a raised lip around the screen. The lip will keep the screen off a flat surface like a table; it is a significant lip. There are many pictures of this case in the thread where people are showing photos of their cases. Here is a youtube.com video that is pretty good.

I honestly prolly wouldn't use the kickstand that much either... but it's good to know that it's probably not as bad as some of the reviews..

That looks pretty good.. may have to get one if that one from Ebay turns out to be crap..

I actually meant (egrips) since I had seen it recommended in another thread here
Hopefully this might be some help
I know I've read that a few people have purchased it... my question is for those who have actually received it.
First of all, I believe I read someone had said it DID fit a leather back phone... Can that be confirmed? Also, do you notice any degradation of WiFi or cell signal with the bumper on?
this
Well, all aluminum cases effects the signals and wifi too ... i had use aluminum case on my galaxy s5 ago . Im recommend to not use any aluminum case
Mine shipped today so i guess i will find out in a couple weeks. For $9 it's worth the chance.

This is a bumper, not a case. There is a bit of a difference.
I have one in bound, I will report back when I get it.

I'll probably bevel mine with a dremel. I got the uncoated version because of this.

Got my black bumper in today. I like it so far. Fits well. Doesn't seem like it will leave a mark inn the leather but time will tell.
I got mine a few days ago. I'm not happy about 2 things:
First, putting this on ripped my heart to shreds. It doesn't open nearly enough to fit the phone without seriously risking a scratch.
Then, the bottom part is not fitted properly. There's a space between the back of the phone and the bumper, and I can see through port holes. The phone doesn't jiggle or anything, but the frame is too far from the bottom back of the phone.
I'm using the plastic back BTW, and trust me, you don't want to use this on a leather back. There's no padding at all on this and it will leave marks. @tourbound129 I think someone already tried it and it only took a couple of hours.
I agree that it doesn't hinge apart as much as I would like but I had no problems carefully making it work.
I'm not to worried about it leaving marks in the leather. It won't really show in the black even if it does. And the backs are replaceable.

I'll try to get some later. GF has my G3 so don't have anything to take a pic with.
It did leave a small impression on the leather after leaving it on overnight. I have the textured black leather so not worried about it at all. Not even visible unless you are looking for it.
Has anyone dropped their phone yet, while wearing the aluminum bumper? How did it protect the phone?
The areal where the hinge is damaged the corner of my phone. These things are complete ****e

Do you have the leather or plastic back?
Brown leather
There was a thread the other day about artek giving free cases so they could get reviews for it, i have been using it for about a week and here's my review:
I recently bought a note 8 so i was looking for different cases, this is one of them.
It is made of real leather so that's always a plus. Now i almost all the time prefer minimalist cases because last couple of samsung phones are just so darn pretty and i like to show it off but this time i wanted to try something different.
It's a case i won't be using everyday because of the same thing but i have been using it for the last week an do far i like most of it specially the attention to detail and that it covers the screen as well.
I have tried wireless charging and yes it works, i'm guessing it will work with some chargers and not with others, the one i'm using has 2 coils i don't know if that has anything to do.
PROS:
+ Real Leather
+ Decent protection for the phone
+ PURDY
+ When using this there's no need to carry a wallet anymore since you can put your cards and some cash in there.
+ Perfect fit.
CONS:
- Using the fingerprint was hard enough with Samsung's fingerprint location, with this case it's even harder.
- Screen doesn't turn on automatically when opening case.
- Bulky, won't be comfortable if you are wearing skinny jeans.
At the end, i would say its a good purchase.

Bud, then you can simply install it with a glass screen protector, then choose a simply TPU slim case.
Trust me, nowadays Phones are built very solid.
Otterbox just take advantage of Scare of losing a thought dollars
