Download Rashr from playstore. Download recovery.img. Flash it through Rash and good to go.
Of course you have to be rooted. Search for towel root method.

Please explain in detail what you tried.
If I told you I tried to repair the air condition in my car with a screwdriver like 3 times, you also wouldn't have an idea what I did

This tutorial has nothing to da with Rashr. This is a zip you pull via ADB at a PC.
If I remember right, you can chose a recovery inside Rashr and let Rashr download and install it.

First off I'd like to apologise if this is the wrong forum.
I'm using an old version of twrp on my i9305, 2.3.3.0 to be exact, and I would like to update it to the newest version but I'm not sure how. I've looked on their website and just found it confusing; goomanager isnt supported, it couldn't find the file when I tried using terminal emulator and I couldn't get a response from odin for some reason.
So what's the easiest way to update it for a newb like me to update it?
I believe I used the s3 toolkit last time but I'm not sure which phone to select because I'm using sentinalrom and all the options seemed to be for stock phones. No option for 4.3 phones.
Web site downloads and either cwm zip or Odin tar file .
Sorry for the stupid question but I've downloaded the cwm zip and was wondering whether I have to install cwm or can I flash it using twrp?

I've read the FAQs and can't find anything relating to this. Hence the reason I asked.
Thanks for the useful post though.

The basics would show that cwm is a recovery and twrp is a recovery . You flash through recovery .
So you have more than one copy of your EFS folder backed up good .

OK that is one solution.
But I don't have "mobile Odin"...
how can I convert the TWRP IMG or TAR into a flashable ZIP?
Or can anyone confirm what the correct ADB command is? (I don't think the command from TWRP is correct)
thanks
Here you can find a download for twrp.. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=46874790
It is attached in the 3rd post.
There is a *.tar and a *.zip.
I hope it will help you. I'm using it for myself and it works great!

I wish it was this easy. Every time I try using mobile Odin it crashes, says settings stopped and boots into TWRP... I presume this isn't meant to happen at least?
I think I'll just have to give up. I've tried everything and nothing works for me.

I decided to give it one last try with Odin on my pc and I dont know why but it worked!!! I have no idea why it didn't before, perhaps it was a corrupted file but that doesn't explain why none of the other ways worked either. But the main thing is I'm now running the latest version.
Thanks for all your help everyone.

I needn't have bothered tbh. The only reason I wanted to update the recovery was because most roms wont install on my phone, which is the main reason I'm using sentinelrom, and I had hoped it was because I was using an old recovery but they still wont install.
This phone really is crap. I didn't have any of these troubles with my old x10. It might not have had the power of the s3 but I could flash things at least.
there are two kind of files you can download from the goo
the img file and zip file
the img file is for download mode and the zip file is for recovery mode
you can use mobile ordin or ordin in PC to flash the img fileļ¼or use the old version TWRP to flash the new version in recovery mode
Flashify is another way to update TWRP after downloading the recovery .img manually on your phone. Just be sure to install the right one for your device.
Apologies for the reply to a thread that's been dormant for a month.
Hey guys i rooted my phone using the vroot option, everything went smoothly and my device gained root, The problem is how do i change from the Chinese supersu to normal supersu?
I've found guides on youtube to change it over but when i did the options my root was removed instead of changing over to normal supersu,
I have rooted my device before using flashtool by changing the kernel to an older 1 and then using doomlords method, but this time my kernel wouldn't change in my phone settings as it was saying i was still on the one i had, hence why i had to use a different method
I'm no n00b to flashing devices as I've had previous experience with other android devices,
Some help please, much appreciated
U have cwm recovery then flash supersu.zip from the supersu site. Or when not open the zip and test to install the apk over it.

I was using xzrecovery only, as I have flashed NUTs 4.3 it included xzrecovery, but it is not working & hence this question thread, as I could not post on the dev thread.
It looks to me an issue with the recovery.
Happy to try out anything if you suggest.

Did you install busybox? If you did and you used a busybox installer from the Play store, it probably broke the recovery, as most of them do not install a tool that's essential for the operation of the dual recovery.

Thanks Kingvortex for your reply... No I did not install from play store, I am using the same busybox as included in the xzrecovery installer.
Thanks to NUTs he found the issue, he feels the xzdr.prop file is not read properly by the problem, after deleting that file, now I am able to boot into recovery.
Thanks again.

Hi guys I seriously need help. I bricked my Z1 c6903. I accidentally deleted the OS by wiping dalvik, system, etc,. Im sorry if this was already posted somewhere here. Im new to this. If someone would kindly help me or give me help in unbricking my device Id really appreciate it.
PS, Z1 was given to me already rooted. It has TWRP recovery, and I know that Im really stupid for tinkering with the advanced option. Im new to using custom recovery, rooting, etc.

If you still have recovery , boot into recovery, mount usb and copy ROM from your PC.
Flash ROM and restart...
If you don't have recovery, use flashtool to flash ftf. (534) root it and then upgrade to 761 (latest firmware)
BTW, your device isn't bricked, there's missing system, that's all...
And yeah...that wasn't stupid at all...this things happens and, if you ask me- TWRP team should change that wipe options...
It's not well made...
First option should be only cache wipe and advanced should have format data and system option...

I tried booting to recovery but it wont. Its stuck in the sony logo. I guess ill go with option 2(flashing ftf)
is it ok if I flash the ftf then NOT root it?

is this guide applicable for the z1 too?

You are welcome mate
Yeap...
One thing is very important - use latest flashtool..and everything will be OK.
You'll be surprised how easy that is...
Flash firmware 534 (JB)
Turn device off, open flashtool and prepare 534 firmware, start flashing and connect device (holding vol down) connect device when flashtool ask for it, don't do that right away...
root it with binary method (just Google" binary root method xda") first link is what you need.
Install NUT recovery.
Restart to recovery, flash NUT 757, TURN DEVICE OFF!!!
And flash stripped ftf (that's kernel)
It's very important to turn device off, don't restart. (to flash stripped ftf)
I always practice to hit flashtool "start" button and wait for flashtool to ask for device, that's is the best way to be 100% sure your device won't leave flashmod

Man, I asked you do you still have recovery and you said no?!?
Use recovery to flash stock based ROMs like NUT or iHackers, flashtool or pc companion to flash stock unrooted firmware.
It won'tbe a problem if you have twrp (recovery), it'll wipe everything...
We are talking for a two hours and you are asking same question over and over again...

According cm wiki , to load recovery , while device boot, press the Volume rockers a few times or you can flash dual recovery .
I think you can fastboot the img file that cyanogenmod provided.
