Question about Sprint HTC One (m8) - Sprint HTC One (M8)

From what I have read are all the HTC One M8 cell phones the exact same as far as capability goes, I mean hardware and frequency ranges? If that is true why is it that Sprint and Verizon phones are limited? I mean like a Google Play conversion? They have slots for SIM cardss and if the hardware supports it is it not just a matter of different software? I ask because I do not know. So my question is= Is it possible to convert my HTC One M8 Sprint Harman Kardon to a Google Play Edition? And would there be any limitations as far as use on other networks ect...

[Q] Is it here for talk about htc one developer edtion?

Hi, I bought the htc one developer edition.
And I saw that are four different forums for htc one. I get confused, which one is better for seek for information.
I think is the htc one( without carrier). Am I right?
Are the sub forums equal? Can I use rom from att/sprint or t-mobile in the developer edition?
Theoretically you can flash all rom...
Soc is the same...
And a rom for International One (TrickDroid) work on AT&T one
Just don't flash anything from the Sprint forum. There's a high chance that it won't work.

[Q]Which is the right HTC One variant if I need AWS for LTE?

Guys,
I´m going to buy an HTC One and I need it to support AWS LTE.
Problem is, I don´t know a surefire method to choose the right one just by looking at the box or the phone (turned off).
Since I´m based in Uruguay, I can´t buy one from the HTC Store. I have been offered here a couple of Ones but I can only look at the box.
I have read mike1986 thread about the One´s variants. Didn´t knew that there was a GSM only version (since the HTC online Store won´t sell it).
So....
Is there any way to determine if the phone is AWS LTE capable just by looking at the box or the phone turned off?
Another noob question associated, I know the 64gb developer edition is AWS LTE capable. That edition is the only 64gb version of the HTC One or do other 64gb versions exists?

Each phone supports a different set of wireless data technologies and frequencies.
The unbranded/developer edition is most like the AT&T version.

go with att (1st choice) or Tmobile. not sprint unless you have to. development wise all ROMs are behind the curve for thawt one.

There's a very high chance you'll get the developer edition.
All the gsm models are identical except for the enabled frequencies.
tmo is the only one with 1700 aws
Dev has additional international freq, not incl 1700
If sticking in the US the tmo HTC one offers more flexibility. Since it offers both AT&T and Tmo 3G/LTR bands.
Only different with the Sprint and future Verizon models are the added CDMA radios. And partition layout
Sent from my HTC One using xda premium
So if my cousin bought HTC ONE DEV EDITION from the web htc on usa
and he give me it to israel ,
its need to work reguler ? with not problem ?

[Q] Modifying a SPRINT HTC ONE to act like an international one?

Well I have been told that my Sprint version of my HTC ONE M7 wont ever be able to act like and international version, well why cant it ?
If its a partition problem cant we just modify it? just like sdmerge400 modified the partitions of LG e400s ????
I would like if someone would make a mod for this stuff (As my phone is unlocked and i have been told that GSM is now enabled. Source: Sprint Rep.)
And a fact is that both have the exact same RF chip the difference being that sprint has locked down its phons to CDMA only , Which is unlocked by carrier unlocking (That I have already done )
So i think it must be possible!
(PSardon me, I have made posts like this before but this one is a little bit different.)

Um.... Not entirely sure that's right. You'll want to double check the frequencies for the Sprint M7. Any CDMA band frequencies cannot be used for GSM or LTE purposes.
At least, that is what I was told.
Unlocking your phone will allow you to use the built in GSM functions of your M7, but the CDMA frequencies will remain inaccessible. My $0.02? See if someone wants to trade their international One for a Sprint One (lmao good luck), or sell it and buy an international One.

Sprint M7 cannot be converted to International M7.
Modem chipset is different. Firmware is different.
GSM unlock on sprint m7 is meant only for out of US gsm carrier Some people had success in using it on US based gsm carriers
Max you can do is modify xml files so your phone shows network options like in GSM models.

Sprint one m7 GSM conversion

I have a sprint HTC one m7 and I would like to use it one straight talk. I have parts from a damaged att m7 and was wondering if you would think it possible to swap the antennas and antenna boards and be able to use it on straight talk. Thanks.
