Hopefully someone here can help. I absolutely love my s6 Edge. What I don't love is the battery life. Today I took it off the charger at 6:40am. By 3pm I was down to 31%. I fully charged it and at 11:20pm I'm down to 18%. I'm looking for an ultra portable charger. Something small that can give me one full charge. Small enough to fit in my pocket and wouldn't be noticeable or uncomfortable. Preferably with a built in cord.

best portable battery charger. it has Qualcomm's fast charge 2.0 to charge your phone and it will charge itself using fast charge too. its also aluminum.
I have the LithiumCard and love it for it's portability.
http://linearflux.com/lithiumcard/main.html
The PRO will charge the S6 Edge fully once. The regular LithiumCard will give the phone about a 40% - 45% charge which is usually more than enough to get me through the rest of the day should I need a quick top off. Best thing is they have a built in USB plug for charging (can do pass-through charging) as well as a micro-usb so you don't need to carry any extra cables. They charge the phone fairly quickly also.
When I want a little more juice that can do two full charges, I carry this. It's a bit bulkier than the LithiumCard (but in no way considered bulky compared to other power banks, IMO) and it usually stays in my backpack/briefcase/etc. This also supports Quick Charge 2.0 (Fast Charge)

Just wanted to post this 3000mAh lipstick sized battery back-up. It has worked great for us and we have used it for about 3 to 4 months now. It was one of the only really small sized 2.1A battery back-ups I could find. There are a few listed here so if you like it make sure to select the one that currently costs $12.99 the others are only 1A chargers. We like this one so much I have ordered 4 to give away as gifts.

I have just ordered this and will review it when it arrives. I had the aukey but didn't like that for a battery that size it only had one usb output. This one also supports QC2.0 to charge the pack itself.

I used a custom ROM because I wasn't interested in wasting money on a charging case. If you take the time to read up on that stuff it's actually very useful and free! My battery has never been better.

Hi!
Bought this charger ages ago, started charging my batteries nowadays, and they got broken.
I might have left them on too long, not sure. After charging them a couple of times they gave false temperature/drain data to the phone.
For example:
With fully charged battery, phone displayed random % details like 1%, or 40%, etc.
With fully chardged battery flash in winmo didn't want to turn on, coz battery was low the phone thought
some Android roms failed to boot with the broken batteries. They were fine with a new one.
Sometimes they work ok.
With 15%, plugged in the original charger for 1 sec, after disconnect battery seemed to be on 100% for a couple of minutes and started counting down pretty fast, like a couple of % a minute
I "lost" an original default battery and an original htc extended battery :-(
So here is something to avoid. Got it from China.

thanks for the advice, I was just about to buy one
Was using them in my HTC Legend for a while, didn't notice any side effects.
Haven't got one for the HD2 yet.
The problem affected 2 htc batteries, shortly after I started using the charger. Maybe it is only me who has a defective charger. Maybe I left them on the charger too long (max12hours), but that shouldn't be a problem. To tell you the truth, this isn't the first time I had problems with cheap accessories from China in the last couple of years.
The quality of these products are often appalling.
Had a similar charger for my xperia x1, had no problems though...
I think its just only you with a defective charger, i have used this kind of charger for all my 4 batteris for about 6 months now and there is nothing wrong with it. Buy a new charger The charger stops charging the battery when the led turns blue so it works fine here
and it charges fully batteri for about 1-2 hours , it takes loonger with charging via phone
i've been using this type of charger for a while
(on both a stock battery & the replacement it came with).
i haven't had any issues with it to date
That thing looks like one of those cheap ass Chinese chargers that will break anything it's connected to. I know from experience - I had an external Molex (HDD) connector that caught fire while plugged in - NEVER again. That thing probably has NO overcharge control.

yes it has
Most likely the OP got a bad one
I have been using various Chinese chargers for the past several years (with various phones). I just finished charging my spare with one of them. They do have overvoltage circuits, and they would not sell ones that don't - they want to sell more of them, and having them catch fire or explode is not good business.
But quality control can have one slip through sometimes, and of course there is little recourse when this happens - the company is in China!
EDIT: I should also point out that there are no options. I don't think there are US, Japanese, or TW made models, though I haven't made a detailed search.
EDIT EDIT: Except for the boxwave charger, which has both a desktop holder and a spare battery charger. But even then I don't know where boxwave has them made - probably China...
http://www.amazon.com/BoxWave-Deskt...5X42/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1297185146&sr=8-3
i'm using this now and so far no problems at all. i think there's a problem with your charger.
The charger eventually died. No lights or anything.
Thanks for the advice
I've just bought one of these chargers from e bay.it was from a UK seller . And I also got 2 batteries ,
Will let you know what happens
I got two (probably just a defective batch) and for some reason they discharged my batteries rather than charging them. I just thought that was kinda odd. If anyone else has any recommendations for an alternative external charger I'm all ears as my previous HD2's usb port broke off from wear and I'd like to prevent that from happening again.
I have the same charger and i have used it for over a yeah and i still get 1 day of full battery use like always
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
Those of you with working chargers, where'd you get them from?
I bought the same type: http://cgi.benl.ebay.be/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250796662523 (beware that these have US power socket)
The charger and one of the two batteries are working pretty well here. The other battery was discharged very fast. I think the charger stops charging before it's full. Anyway, for that price it doesn't really matter.
I've been using an identical one for over a year and haven't had any problems. Sounds like you got a defective unit.
There are disadvantages I've noticed though - they only charge to 99% (according to phone stats) and, unless I'm imagining it, the battery drains faster from 99-15% and then slowly 'til it gets down to 1% compared to a regular mains charge.
Also the USB output trickle-charges and takes forever to fully charge the battery in the phone. Only good for overnight.
I've got 3 batteries - 2 stock HTC's and one cheap Chinese one as I often find myself in situations where I'm going to need to use the phone for more than a few hours of heavy use - so a charger like this is worth it for me!
Same problems
Same charger from ebay. Killed about 5 batteries (had 5 total in rotation and didn't narrow it down to the charger until now....)
STAY AWAY!
Thanks for sharing your important things. if you did not share with me about this then i will buy this type charger. no no. :silly: i want to use USB charger.. if anyone reply me ? is it good for me ?

CONFIRMED: 2900 mAh Extended Battery Enables Kickstand hack
While I was surprised with the decent battery of the Revolution, I've grown to dislike having my phone constantly tethered to a Zagg Sparq, thus bought the $49 extended battery from Verizon.
Much to my delight, the pretty massive battery enables the Revolution to stand up all by itself. Not to mention almost doubles its external-power-source independence. Hoorah!

yeah dude i had it at around 20% at midnight, woke up at 9AM and it was 75% charged.
This was through the ZaggSparq, which is supposed to do it at the same rate as the wall.... but... I'm hoping that isn't the case.
Were you using the included usb cable & wall->usb adapter?
I will try with that tomorrow night and report...
Definitely needs to be able to charge in 8 hours for me to keep the Revolution in general.
Does anyone think slow charging is something that is possible to fix with a different ROM

the hunchback has 65% life left and it's 12:49AM.
It has been on without any recharge since 8AM (technically yesterday morning)- I made lots of calls with google voice callback (requires 3g), did lots of web browsing, phone optimizing, and other things like phone hacking (got dedicated search key working with google finally, following xda walkthrough), etc.
I did have Juice Defender on for about half the day- just to turn off 3G when screen is locked (PS does anyone know a better way? AutomateIt doesn't work reliably)-> but it would sometimes take a while to turn 3G back on...
To follow-up with the previous inquiry, it charged from 17% at 1AM to 90% at 6:30AM-> meaning 90% charge in 8 hours which is almost good enough.
It's like carrying around 2 phones in size and in battery life. which I suppose I prefer to only 1.
65% is overkill, though... I will turn off JD

it got through the day (10% left after 12-15 hrs)... but of course, there is no lte in this city for another week.
also, as i mentioned, 3g would not be re-enabled very often using it- for one reason or another
That battery is an absolute monstrosity, but would come in real handy for a ski trip or road trip...
With the extended battery are there any belt clips or cases that fit it?
that's ugly as hell. why can't they make an extended battery that looks good.. at least make the back cover look presentable.

I agree. I would love to see an extended battery cover that curved along the phone like the regular one, not hard edges like this. I'm assuming they can't on top because of the camera, but why not the bottom? I think that would make it looke at least 10x better.

http://www.amazon.com/GT-N7100-SCH-...keywords=samsung+galaxy+note+ii+anker+battery
I have been using the battery for about a week now and i must say i think Anker lied about mAh rating! lol This thing is for sure a step up from thre stock Samsung battery! After a couple of good charge cycles i have experienced AMAZING batt life! Really nice piece for the money! I have a fe batt stat screen shots but they are somewhat irrelevant considering the static nature of a phones use throughout any given day. I would HIGHLY recommend the battery though. I looked at a few "higher" mAh batteries....but those dinky cheap looking batteries worry me. I have had bad luck with the "gold" batts in the past with my S2. But anyway here are a couple screenshots.....sorry i forgot screen on times
Screen on time?
thanks a lot for the review
I too am an Anker fan. Got the batts for my SII and they are still working great.
I just ordered the two battery pack set with charger a while ago. Now time to look for a spare battery cover lol.
What kind of font or theme is that? Looks like something from ST TMP.
Hmm, I'm at 1d 8h and 29% on the stock battery.
Please post a picture of "Screen > Time On"

Ugh, that's pretty bad concidering. What's your screen time? With 3-5 hours of screen on time, I am still getting a lot more than a day out of the battery. I haven't seen anything here to suggest this new battery is any better than stock or OEM.
Is that battery for Samsung note?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda premium
yup for the note 2 as it shows on the battery
How many amps is the charger?
I got 2 no name batteries with a wall charger off ebay.
The batteries seem OK. Not, not as good as stock, they were only $6 each and will do fine as back ups/spares for when I travel..
But the wall charger is only 800mA, so it takes ages to charge the batteries.
I will really only use the spares when I travel, as I can charge my stock battery in the phone at home and work quite easily, and it lasts me a day with no problems. So, fast charging is important if I only have a few hours at an airport, hotel, meeting etc.
Thanks for posting this. I almost ordered the Samsung one if it wasn't sold out. This is crazy cheap compared to the Samsung one, do you have a separate charger for it?

My stock battery was lost too much performance (about 1/2)

Wireless charging is GREAT on this device at least for me, I'm quite happy since the N4 glass back was a big issue not to mention the wakelock. I have a LG WCP300 Charger and a Nokia DT900 which everyone hated because it sucked a$$ on the N4, but I kept it because it works great for my 2013 N7; but I'm Happy to inform that it works Flawlessly on the N5 almost Better if not, than the LG WCP300, just "set it and forget it" no issues whatsoever,So yeah The Best Cheap Wireless Charger Works With the N5. Chariging time take a bit longer than with regular AC Chatger, but its barely noticeable.
This Week I'm Getting 2 Covers, a Spigen Ultra Hybrid and a Caseolog Slim Fit TPU , and will report back with any issues, although i dont think i'll get any. (fingers crossed)
Any questions or comments are welcome!
I've got 3 of the Nokia chargers. They work well. I've been trying to figure out how to rig up a stand for the N5 with a wireless charger so I can use it as a night stand clock at night too.
I've got one at work and home, it is pretty nice to set the phone down and have it charge and not have to mess with plugging it in.

Can you confirm whether or not the WCP-300 stops charging the phone when the battery is full? I have the WCP-700 wireless charger and can confirm that it does NOT stop charging the Nexus 5, which concerns me.
With the Nexus 4 the WCP-700 would charge the phone until full. Then the green blinking light on the charger would turn solid green and it would stop charging until the phone fell below 95% charge. Then it would begin charging again. I believe this is how the charger was designed to work.
However, the charger just continues to charge the Nexus 5 continuously and the blinking green charge light stays blinking constantly, even when the battery is full. So until I can get this figured out I've resorted to just plugging the phone in with the stock charger.

Don't worry about overcharging. Whether supplying power via USB or Qi, the battery charging circuit will regulate the current drawn from the supply and take only what is required. Leaving the phone plugged in will trickle charge (either constant or modulated current draw) to keep the battery topped up.
The only issue with keeping it charged is that eventually this will degrade the batteries performance. Read more here: How to Prolong Lithium-based Batteries
I have a Maxell Air Voltage with works great with the N5.
I've noticed that the N5 is less sensitive to it's position on the charger compared to the N4 was.
Is it safe to leave my phone on one of these things all day while I'm at my desk at work?

I leave mine charging all night. Always have done. No problems
Where I Live At The Moment My Phone's AP is my only source of Internet, so I leave mine for Prolonged Hours Too, no problems either, and Thanks to "thejonesyboy" for your reply.

I do not recommend it, if the phone is on especially if it's on network it will constantly lose some battery % and then recharge to 100% and lose and recharge, you may not notice, but doing it for a year and it definitely shortens battery life.
Almost everyone in the world leaves their phone on charge over night, be it via mains/USB or wireless, it's not going to cause a problem.
In fact, Li-Ion batteries 'prefer' to be topped up little and often rather than large charge/discharge cycles.
I am looking for a fast QI charger for my S7E that does not light up and one or more USB ports on it. I want this because I will place it on my nightstand in my bedroom where I want it dark (hence no lights) and I want to be able to connect a sleep monitor (hence the USB port). Can anyone make recommendations? relevant recommendations will receive heartfelt thanks.
Something like these two together should do the trick. I use this quick charge stand and love it. It does have a small LED on the front but you can just cover it with a small piece of black electrical tape if need be.

I got the Anker Powerport QI 10. It has lights but only when you put the phone on it. It lasts for 5secs and then turns off.
Thanks for the responses guys. Unfortunately, neither is quite what I'm looking for. I'm looking for something like this but with fast QI https://www.amazon.com/Ugreen-Wirel...&qid=1480615095&sr=1-267&keywords=fast+qi+usb

No problem but if you use what I linked, you will get 4 USB ports to plug devices into along with a fast qi charger. It's technically 2 things on the desk but it does exactly what you want.

Unfortunately, its not really want I'm looking for. I I have a small shelf next to my bed that has just enough room for my glasses, phone and sleep monitor. So I really just want one cord running from the wall up to the shelf and then the USB cable for the sleep monitor plugged into the pad.
Try this one. Bought it few days ago and it has been working well for me!
This will solve the problem with a light.
I stumbled over this today and remembered this thread;

Dammit i hate it so much that all those wireless chargers put the BRIGHTEST led indicator they can find right in front of the charger.
Wouldn't it make sense to use a low-powered charger (1A or less) to put on your night stand? In that way you don't overheat your battery - which will make it last longer - and since you probably sleep for more than an hour a day, you don't really have to worry about the duration until it is fully charged, do you?
yup
youre totally right. quick charger in the car is better idea! night stand quick charging to me always seemed kinda dumb. why am i even looking to spend $50 on one. im gonna get the regular paced qi charger.. that way it slowly charges the phone at night and ill pick up the quick charger for the truck

I have a wireless fast charger beside my bed and my phone is never hot in the morning. Also, couldn't you just turn off fast wireless charging anyway if you're worried (unnecessarily IMO) about somehow damaging your phone?

If you use fast charging, the phone is going to be fully charged long before morning, so even if it got hot while charging you wouldn't know by morning. It stops charging once it's full. Bur yes, you can turn off fast charging. But then why pay for a fast charger?
I agree with the other poster. If the point is charging over night, you don't need speed. Fast chargers DO generate more heat in the battery than slow chargers. It's basic physics.
