Random reboots after device encryption - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi there,
I own an HTC One (m7) since a couple of years and have been using it without problems ever since. Yesterday I encrypted the whole device through the HTC Android default option. Since then the device randomly reboots about every hour. Is there anything I can do except a factory reset?
Thanks in advance

strange issue... The only way to remove encryption is a factory reset using stock recovery (custom recoveries won't work)

I have HTC One and have the same problem. Exactly 1 hour after booting my phone reboots. Unfoortunetly did not found the solution other than factory reste.

Because there is no other solution to find. Problems that are caused by encryption can only be solved by a factory reset.

I have the same problem with my M7, but I can`t remove encryption, because I work in company, where my telephone have to be encrypted. So, can I fix this problem or I should to buy a new phone (it would be not htc, I think)?

Do a factory reset to start over from scratch then you can encrypt the phone again.

It was realy strange - rebooting every hour, but factory reset and encrypting again fixed it. Thank you, alray.

[Q] HTC one reboots after running custom ROM

I recently finally got a ROM to my HTC one successfully...I am on the Cyanogen mod.
However, like the ROM i istalled previously, my phone keeps rebooting randomly after a couple minutes or just a minute of being on and operating flawlessly.
any fix to this? Ive read around, i dont think this is the same as bootloop?
Also, my phone has no service or ability to activate my phone after, how to on that?
ONE THING:
I may/may not have (i did) accidentally flash a ROM designed for a GSM phone to my phone....COuld that have caused this problem???

HTC One reboots 2-3 times per day

Hello,
I have a problem with my HTC one. Device reboots 2-3 times per day, when I'm using WiFi, GPS navigation or just making some calls.
I'm using stock rom and actually made factory reset for device and problem wasn't solved.
What it can be and how I can solve this problem? Thank you in advance.

If you are stock and have tried factory reset already I think you probably have a hardware problem - bad memory maybe.

Ok, thank you for answer.
I'm also want to try to downgrade android version from 4.4.2 to 4.1.2 stock rom. I have read that it helps for a few users of htc one.
But i'm newbie in android and actually do not know how to downgrade to older stock rom. Can you provide me with information/manual how to perform downgrade to stock rom 4.1.2
Thank you in advance.

[Q] HTC One m7 - System rebooting and can't update

Hi,
About two weeks ago, after running out of battery completely, my phone started rebooting once I charged it back. It boots without a problem, and I'm able to use for about 15 seconds, then it reboots. I'm able to boot into recovery and perform a factory reset, which apparently fixes the problem, but then I can't update to sense 6. Once the update fails, the rebooting problem returns. So I had basically given up updating. However, today, after turning off the phone to charge it, it started rebooting again after I turned it on.
I read a couple threads and imo the problem is a mix of these two:

My device has unlocked bootloader and is rooted.
Please help.
@alray I started a new thread, since the problems were a little different. If you can continue to help, it will be very much appreciated.

[Q] HTC One M8 - Factory Reset Custom ROM help.

Need some help! I lost my phone last weekend so used the android phone finder and performed a factory reset. Long story short the phone was returned to me.
As i got wifi the phone then reset. The venom rom i was using then started playing up. I reflashed it but the wifi no longer works. This is the case with various roms and now it says my mobile is rooted and s-on. The phone still has twrp 2.7 running on it.
Could you guys please advise what I should do here.
Thanks.

pixel 4a5g bootloop issue with locked bootloader

Hello,
My pixel 4a 5g started bootlooping suddenly. I can go into fastboot but I can't do anything since I am having locked bootloader. Is there a way to unlock bootloader without booting into android? Else is there any other way to solve the problem! I tired factory reset option inside Recovery and also flashed OTA update using side load option but it didn't helped.
Don't bother with fastboot if all you want to do is a factory reset. Boot to Recovery and do a factory reset from there.

I already tried that but no luck. Still its going to boot loop.
Any help!
This happened to my Son's 4a5g about 3 weeks ago now. It just happened out of nowhere and likewise the bootloader was locked so couldn't use the flash tool. It would look like it went through the factory reset but right as it was about to get to the welcome screen it would bootloop again. I reported it to Google but as I predicted they just suggested taking it in to a repair shop and with it being out of warranty it would be a lost cause. Somehow, he kept force-rebooting the phone over and over (unbeknownst to me) and one day he got it to boot and got to the setup screen. 3 weeks later it is still going as if nothing happened. So weird. I think something may still be wrong with it somewhere but first thing I did as soon as he got it set back up is to turn on OEM unlocking in settings.

Update: 8/5/26. The bootlooping got more frequent and I'm pretty sure it's dead now. *Sigh*
I used this website to correct the issue. worked great
