HTC One reboots 2-3 times per day - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I have a problem with my HTC one. Device reboots 2-3 times per day, when I'm using WiFi, GPS navigation or just making some calls.
I'm using stock rom and actually made factory reset for device and problem wasn't solved.
What it can be and how I can solve this problem? Thank you in advance.

If you are stock and have tried factory reset already I think you probably have a hardware problem - bad memory maybe.

Ok, thank you for answer.
I'm also want to try to downgrade android version from 4.4.2 to 4.1.2 stock rom. I have read that it helps for a few users of htc one.
But i'm newbie in android and actually do not know how to downgrade to older stock rom. Can you provide me with information/manual how to perform downgrade to stock rom 4.1.2
Thank you in advance.

[SOLVED] Rom issue - problem soft reset or turning off wipes phone

I have tried several roms over the last few days but all have shared the same issue. I tried both the Sh3lby roms and Duttys roms. When I flash it everything works fine, it installs ok and everything appears to work. However, whenever the phone has an error or when I soft-rest or turn the phone off, all my files are deleted and I need to set-up the os again (align screen etc). So essentially everytime my phone is turned off or restarted it performs a hard-rest. Does anyone know any solution to this problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated
Update - Returning to stock rom appears to have solved the issue. Thank-you for the replies.

I'm not sure what the cause is but I have seen the same thing on some of the newer builds.

Did you follow the flashing guide? What method did you use? Did you do at least one hard reset after flashing? If you provide more information on how you flashed your phone, it would be helpful.

I used the flashing rom guide in the past, however, I think I am familiar with flashing now and have flashed many successful roms in the past without this issue. I hard reseted after flashing too :S
Have a look Here
Please delete.
I had the same issue recently. Flashing back to a stock rom, hard resetting then flashing the desired cooked rom resolved the issue for me.
had to follow the same procedure for the first time in 70+ flashes of my HD over the last 8 months! never once thought it would help, but it did. fyi, my problem was a freezing, unresponsive device immediately after waking from sleep. it's been 4 days since and no issues...

[Q] Russian JB with dead GSM

I flashed the latest Russian Jelly Bean ROM today with Odin and everything works... Except GSM. The phone part works for two seconds and then dies, then again two seconds and dead. I can select a network and it can register on the network but most of the time it looks like it's just in flight mode.
Should I try to downgrade or is there some fix I should try before? I tried searching but didn't find much.

Did factory reset? Lot users had that problem if they didn't do that.

I didn't. What's the procedure now? Factory reset and then flash it again?
Hvala
Ok I made a factory reset and now it works. But the implementation is hideous, wifi and battery are worse and everything is a bit laggy. AOSP would be a blessing at this point. Thanks.

No, now do factory reset. Go to recovery, you will find it there. Turn phone on with VolumeUp+Home+Power.

Yes... after Factory Reset... Root it and use Root apps and Custom Kernels to make your phone fly.....
At first I was disappointed with JB... but now after a lot of miscellaneous tweaks, my phone runs much better than GB!!

Have you tried to make sure kernel version match your rom version yet? If yes, then maybe reflash the kernel or change rom should solve your problem.

[HELP] Stamina, Low Battery, or any mode don't work...

Hey guys,
My Z1 was purchased in Taiwan back in October. It has not been rooted, unlocked, or anything along the lines of breaking the warranty. Recently, just these two days, I've discovered that my battery is draining really fast. To prevent this from happening I enabled low battery and stamina. Problem with either is that they both don't really show a true impact. And, i discovered that Low Battery Mode doesn't work because it is supposed ot have disabled VIBRATE but clearly that is not the case because the buttons are still VIBRATING.
Really need help guys, I am traveling and so battery life is crucial.
Thanks!!
EDIT: I also tried resetting the Eco Management thingy (or in my phone it is labeled as Extended StandBy Management or somethign), but to no avail
EDIT2: Phone Info:
- Build Number 14.2.A.0.290
- Android Version 4.3
- Model Number C6902
- Model Purchase Date October 10th, 2013
Update to 4.3 FW .290. The battery was well improved.

Yeah... about that... I am currently on FW .290 [Jellybean 4.3] and have been for quite a while... this issue came up recently. I've switched to the magnetic charger about two weeks ago, could tihs be part of the problem?
I will add more info about my device onto the original post.
Cheers.

No at all. Magnetic charger have nothing to do with that. Anyway this happen sometime with any Android device. I got this problem once on HTC and to fix it I have just to reboot the phone, maybe this will help Z1 too. If not a factory reset will help, did you do any factory reset after update to .290?

No factory resets have been done. What are the consequences of doing so? I am abroad... I have a few photos...and some apps....that about it.
Also I have tried hard resets + reboots a couple of times. Don't work...
Thanks

Then try Factory Reset but this will wipe all your data so before that you should backup all what you need. A factory reset do a kind of clean up after installation that is why many recommend to do so. If after that you still with the problem you maybe should try different FTF.

Random reboots after device encryption

Hi there,
I own an HTC One (m7) since a couple of years and have been using it without problems ever since. Yesterday I encrypted the whole device through the HTC Android default option. Since then the device randomly reboots about every hour. Is there anything I can do except a factory reset?
Thanks in advance

strange issue... The only way to remove encryption is a factory reset using stock recovery (custom recoveries won't work)
I have HTC One and have the same problem. Exactly 1 hour after booting my phone reboots. Unfoortunetly did not found the solution other than factory reste.

Because there is no other solution to find. Problems that are caused by encryption can only be solved by a factory reset.
I have the same problem with my M7, but I can`t remove encryption, because I work in company, where my telephone have to be encrypted. So, can I fix this problem or I should to buy a new phone (it would be not htc, I think)?

Do a factory reset to start over from scratch then you can encrypt the phone again.
It was realy strange - rebooting every hour, but factory reset and encrypting again fixed it. Thank you, alray.
