I just rooted my Galaxy Note 2, build nzo54k.n7100xxdmc3.
I rooted using this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2143479, method number 2. Now I cant use networking. There is a cross over where the network bars use to be. Everything else seem to be working fine. It rebooted a couple of times tho. Can anyone help me with this problem, how I can fix this. If I press "mobile networks" it tells me that I have to insert a simcard. I have the simcard in and tried to restart the phone several times.
I would appreciate any help that you guys can give me. Thank you!

I bought the a samsung GT-I9000 off ebay, it was locked to vodafone and running standard OS.
Despite soft bricking it I did a factory restore, rooted and flashed it with cyanogenmod 10.1.
Everything is working, except I cannot to any mobile network. When I try to connect it says "cannot connect at this time, try again later" or it encountered "an error". It takes ages doing this as well.
The APN settings are all there and correct as I can compare them to my rooted HTC which works fine on the same ROM.
The IMEI number is given by *#06# and this is also given in the phone information. The same IMEI is on the back of the phone under the battery as well.
If I leave the phone on, it gives Orange (EE ) as the network but says emergency only i.e no service.
I rang Orange and they said there is no problem , which I suspected, as my HTC work fine. Orange also said there is no problem with the phone relating to IMEI - its not stolen.

Two questions: is the phone unlocked now? Did you have the connection with this same SIM card by using previously flashed ROM?
If both answers "yes", your presently installed baseband is probably not compatible with the region where you live. Google after the regional codes (letters in your baseband version) and find the right one for your region. Here are all flashable baseband versions for the CyanogenMod:

I upgraded to stable 10.1.3 last night, simply thinking what do I have to lose? and it worked for a bit then stopped.
Whats stranger is it started working when I got to work - it doesnt recognise EE which is the company who bought Orange/T-Mobile but it connects to Orange or T-Mobile and works as Orange......
It connected to providers last night but never for more than a few seconds and then stopped.
I have called and texted from it and all now seems fine!

The phone lost signal when I got home - ultimately solved it by flashing it with modem XXJVP and updated APN to those given for EE, not Orange.
All been stable now for 3 days :laugh:
Hello guys! So I bought myself a Note 9(N960-F) and after the android 9 update my mobile data doesn't work at all. I tried everything from changing the SIM card, reconfiguring the APN, factory resetting and the problem hasn't disappeared. So my last shot would be at the software update. Can anyone help me with some tips?
I think the phone is originary from UK being a single sim but is neverlocked and I use it in Romania with a carier that hasnt got a mobile data config for the Note 9.

I have a strange problem. I bought the "International" version, which was of course the Tencent with a flashed ROM. Although it was sold as "International" hehe
I didn't have Google Pay working and I've flashed the 1703 together with fingerprint, re-locked it down after and then updated with the latest firmware from the Asus website. (Google Pay works now)
Version WW-16.0631.1908.21
I now see that even though I have a FULL 4G+ signal. Calls come through normally etc. but the internet on mobile data simply doesn't work.
Anybody have any advice what else I could do?

Can you provide more details to the resolution? I'm closely watching this phone and would like to be aware of how to resolve these potential issues should I aslo encounter them. TIA

There are no topics on how to get OTA, i googled, all topics say its Impossible.
I want to know how he used offical update to update the phone, i just updated using one of the updates here in FASTBOOT mode.
If you know about topic that can enable REAL OTA that works or if you at least know how i can use ASUS offical updates to update [ mean i assume you just copy the zip file to the USB and it auto updates?]

Wow, im have this issue too, so what happen with APN setting? Do you simply delete or make new one manually?

Idk how to turn on real OTA thing, but if u want update to official ROM (copy zip file to internal storage), make sure your fingerprint set to same with your ROM (ex: WW ROM with WW Fingerprint), that works with me

I just googled what my mobile phone carrier APN was and entered it instead of the wrong one.
You can find the one in the phone by simply going to settings > network and internet > mobile network -> APN ( Access Point Names )
I just started having this issue yesterday! Phone has been working great for over a month then all of a sudden 4g shows it's on and connected but no mobile data coming through! My APN is correct, and I'm using Straight Talk through the TMobile network... Still haven't been able to fix it.

I suffered from dropping internet dropping connection
The solution was APN
Go to settings > network and internet > mobile network -> APN ( Access Point Names )
click the ( Access Point Names ) and you will find many APN setting Depend on your internet provider
Click one of them and then and on far top right option button click (delete APN)
Repeat this until you delete them all
Click the ( + ) sign to create new APN
Now go to thia site:
https://www.apnsettings.org/
And search for your country or internet provider
Copy the APN setting from the website to you your phone
Then save.
Hope it could help you
In case you couldn't connect to the internet at all
you can always restore your previous setting by :
Go to settings > network and internet > mobile network -> APN ( Access Point Names )
on far top right option button click (reset to default)
Hello All
Has anyone been able to use hotspot with out activating with the carrier? I have ATT, with my Samsung S5 I was able to us hotspot freely( its just internet!) once I rooted the phone.
On this A71 4G, I can activate the hotspot but once my laptop connects to it I have no internet
Does this mean I must root the phone to unlock the hotspot abilities?
One UI : 2.1
Baseband version: A715FXXU2ATF7
On the root guide I see that it says "WARNING: You can't downgrade anymore once you flashed U2 update !"
I see a U2 so I maybe on that update? Anyone know for sure?

Yes, sources say you can get internet if you set up a VPN.
