Hi,
The Bluetooth A2DP stuttering bug on Lollipop is unacceptable, and I have heard that KitKat users did not have the same problem.
Is there a compatible KitKat 4.4.4 factory image that I can use to downgrade my XT1072?
I believe the XT1072 (Moto G 2nd Generation with 4G LTE) has never been factory loaded with KitKat Android. Is there another Moto G model that has been, whose KitKat image is compatible with an XT1072?
Cheers,
Sunkai.
This is in the wrong forum and I see that you also have the same thread going in the correct forum Hopefully a mod will see this and lock it.
You are right. My understanding of the situation is better now, and I realise that there probably is not a KitKat or CM11 image that I can use with a Thea device.
I posted in this forum, as I thought there may be a different set of eyes on it than the Moto G 2015 forum, and that there may have been a Titan image that was known to be compatible.
Thank you for taking a look. I am happy for this thread to be locked or removed.

To start off I have a brand new unlocked Moto G 2014 (US Version). I am looking to update to Lollipop but am rather confused about its current status. I have yet to recieve an OTA for Lollipop as of currently. Is Lollipop out to the public for XT1064 devices? I do not care for OTA versions, so if it has been released for it is there a flashable version? I have basic experience with flashing and have flashed Lollipop to my Nexus 7 succesfully. I see version numbers thrown around, for instance: "21.21.25" followed by other device info. My Moto G is currently running "21.11.23.titan_retuaws.retuaws.en.US retus". As a final question is Lollipop currently rootable for the XT1064 devices and how is it done? I see programs like SuperSU thrown around aswell but don't understand how these are used (I do understand what SU and SUDO are though).
Thanks in advance.
Nvm I have found it.
Nice
Hey all,
Sorry if this is in the wrong thread, I'm still trying to wrap my head around the Moto G part of the forum LOL. Anyway, I have the XT1045 unlocked (no carrier branding). I flashed a Lollipop ROM, but want to go back to stock kitkat (or as close as I can get). I'm having a hard time finding anything. Suggestions?
Thanks.

XT1045 is the LTE Version of the first generation Moto G. Please ask at http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g. I'm sure you can get better help and info over there. Moto G (2014) forum is only for XT106x.
Okay but I checked with a mod who said it was in the right place lol. Makes sense though..
I have googled and looked around all over XDA. I cannot find accurate data regarding updating to 5.1 from 4.4.4.
I've been a huge fan of XDA and the devs for years. I've always been able to find what I'm looking for within minutes. But this time.... I can't. The biggest issue is when I do find something, it's either missing details or missing working links. I'm not very good at this and don't know how to find the files needed on my own. Can I get some accurate help with working links on this issue? Thanks guys!
I have a Moto X 1st Gen, Dev eddition. 4.4.4 - rooted. TWRP (can't remember what version) I had Xposed installed, but uninstalled it recently (and the modules). Do I still need to do anything to further remove Xposed?
Is your first gen dev edition an XT1053/GSM model, or XT1060/Verizon model?
I ask because the 5.1 update for the Verizon model hasn't been released yet.
As for conditions to update, see the link in my signature, it explains it all.
i have an unlocked verizon moto x 2nd generation. can i get official motorola 6.0 update? is there any way?

Motorola and Verizon have stated that they will not update the XT1096 to MM or 6.x so there is no "official" Marshmallow firmware from Motorola for this phone.
You can find an 99% stock MM ROM here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x-2014/development/rom-xt1096-verizon-flashable-stock-rom-t3327345. Please read the full thread and ask questions there about this ROM. Some people - including me - are using it as their daily driver with little to no issues. This ROM has all the Motorola apps (Voice, Display, etc.) working as expected from a stock ROM.
Another option CM13. Read this thread :http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x-2014/orig-development/rom-official-cm-13-0-nightly-releases-t3256580/post65781867#post65781867. CM13 works on the XT1096 and other CM13-based ROMs should work but you will need to verify by reading their threads. Please be sure to read the full thread and ask questions there about CM13 or in the other threads related to other ROMs.
This is assuming that you are on the Verizon network and want to keep CDMA functionality. If you are using this phone on a GSM network and do not care to keep the CDMA access then you might want to look here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x-2014/general/guide-xt1097-to-xt1095-nextel-t2972693
All of the options above require that you have an unlocked bootloader. If your bootloader is locked please go here to learn about unlocking it: http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x-2014/general/motorola-unlocking-verizon-moto-x-2014-t3291104
Please read and learn as much as you can. Most - if not all - of your questions will be answered by reading through the threads listed.
XT1085
Hello everyone,
I'm currently using the moto X 2nd generation bought in china (XT1085) running android 5.0.2.
I would like to get rid of the retcn version of the system because I don't speak chinese for a retEU or retUS and install android 6 MM. Is it possible?
My phone is rooted and TWRP recovery installed
I tried to install this version : Version 6, because one guy wrote on the topic that it worked on TX1085 but it failed for me, and my phone stayed on the Motorola launching screen.
So now I'm back with the factory setup and would like to now how to install android 6.0?
Thanks

How to unlock Motorola Moto X 2nd gen. bootloader?
Hey Guys! I have a locked motorola moto x 2nd gen, verizon variant (xt1096). I want to unlock its bootloader for upgrading to marshmallow (6.0), tried to unlock through Motorola's website, but my phone's not eligible for it. So is there any other way to unlock bootloader.
Hi,
As per title, what is the most up to date and easiest way to unroot and install a kitkat custom rom on a locked motoX 2nd gen (2014) with marshmallow 6.0?
My 2 years warranty is running out and am fedup with marshmallow. I'd like to go back to kitkat.
By the way what kitkat rom would you recommend?
Many thanks
Luca
done with issues
I did this from moto x 2014 xt1097 to xt1095 KitKat 4.4.4.
only issue is cellular stuck in radio mode so cant make calls or use data. hopefully can figure that out soon. I think I just need to find Canadian versions of modem files (for bell?).
only issue I cant remember how I did it!!!
83 hours on a next to bricked moto x 2014 and I was in "i don't care anymore mode" and was just downloading and flashing random stuff. give me a few days to figure out what I did so I know who to give thanks and credit to before I start linking other developers work.
Thanks, never mind I found what I want in a custom 6.0.1 ROM.
Best of luck with your smartphone
