Flash in fastboot: bootloader (optional), radio, system, boot and recovery if needed and reboot.

You have Vodafone Nexus? Probably have SLCD? In that case, stock FRF91 won't work for you. You need Vodafone image. Or you could flash Korean version, KR_KT_... .
If you have unlocked bootloader, just unpack the ROM ZIP and do:
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot flash boot boot.img
You can also do it for FRF91, if you don't have SLCD version.

Nexus 7 3G error while flashing Android 4.2.2

Hi guys,
I have a Nexus 7 3G tablet which was running android 4.2.1. I had flashed a custom apk to enable tethering .
Now, to enable flashing, I copied the original framework-res.apk file and replaced the modified one. Then edited the prop file to eliminate the getprop error . This enabled me to start flashing. Flashing happens all the way to the booloader then fails while flashing radio. it gives the following error
Code:
writing radio...
assert failed: batch.update_modem("/radio/SAM_6260_ALL.fls")
Error in JOP40D.zip
(Status 7)
Aborted
any suggestions would be great.

Flash stock recovery. Update via sideloading. Profit!
Just in case you are interested in the cause: Current custom recoveries for tilapia are missing the "bach.modem_update" function (not really sure if all of them).

No, you won't. I said stock RECOVERY, not stock IMAGE.
Code:
fastboot flash recovery stockrecoverysname.img
OK. So could you give me a link to download the recovery image ?
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
Do you have the original factory image from google? The recovery.img is inside,
if not i will upload it somewhere, though it doesn't fixed the radio update error for me.
I now have a mixed version > the ota update installed without errors, the bootloader is 4.18 but
in settings it complains to still be at 4.2.1 JOP40D
Flashing the stock recovery only leads to an unusable recovery screen with no options for flash/sideload
with an red exclamation mark over the chest of the sweet robot..
any ideas?
maybe i have to reflash my nandroid and try again, the custom recovery was openrecovery-twrp-2.4.1.0-tilapia
here are the images for those who need them
nakasig-jop40d-factory-efcec044.tgz

recovery.img

EDIT:
Ok finally i was able to use the stock recovery. though it seemed to be dead.
By pressing power+volup showed the recovery menu for me.
Then flashing the update via sideload worked.
cheers phk

Is your bootloader unlocked? Is it an XT1095?

The mismatched partition size is normal and can be ignored. After you flash TWRP open it, then when you exit TWRP it will ask you if you want to root it.

could be a bad download on that bootloader file. could be poor usb connection. what is your flashing process? You need to provide more details.
Downloaded latest iso from google, unzipped the tgz, ran the flash-all.bat, first time said that recovery and boot were missing. Tried manually flashing using adb, with the "unable to load" message

you can not flash via adb, only using fastboot while in the bootloader. try flashing each individual partition again, or update your fastboot to the very latest and use flash all again.
Heard.
Silly question; i can't download MobileOdin or Flashify and flash it all from my phone, can i?

Odin is for Samsung devices, and to flash a factory image you need to use fastboot. fastboot is what nexus devices use. and no, you can't do it from your phone. once that is done, and flashing twrp recovery, you can use only your phone for everything else.
Thanks!

Seemingly endless string of issues while trying to root

Hey guys, I've decided I'm going to root my Moto X Unlocked Edition. I've been following this guide: http://www.theandroidsoul.com/2014-moto-x-2nd-gen-marshmallow-root-86348/ (as well as many others) and I'm running into issue after issue.
I've managed to unlock my bootloader. I'm on step 8: "fastboot flash boot boot.img" and have tried with so many techniques but keep getting this "mismatched partition size (boot)" error after each attempt. I've tried using .img files from CMod, from the guide that I'm following, etc. I've googled the error with no useful result coming up. I'm at a loss here and really hoping someone is able to help me out. Searching is turning up nothing and I'm about to start tugging at my hair. If anyone has a one click installer that would work, please pass it along!
Thank you all very much!
Edit 4/29/16 13:01 ET: I've switched from trying to use the 'fastboot flash boot' command and started trying to use 'fastboot update <romname.zip >' with various different ROMs. I'm getting this error.
archive does not contain 'android-info.txt'
archive does not contain 'android-product.txt'
error: update package has no android-info.txt or android-product.txt

I'm not sure what to do now. I feel like I'm getting reckless in trying an overwhelming amount of solutions to no avail. I'm going to wait, now. I'm starting to think that these phones can't be rooted or flashed with a new ROM.
What phone version do you have, XT1095? I just tried to root my device without reading carefully and ended up softbricked...had to use fastboot to wipe everything and flash stock to recover. Seems this devices is tricky to root on Marshmallow, much harder than ones I've had in the past.
Have you tried the method here? http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x-2014/development/root-root-moto-x-2014-android-t3249105
Or, if you install TWRP you could just flash a pre-rooted ROM instead of rooting stock.
Thank you for the help @viper74656!
I'm struggling to even get the TWRP installed. When I try to install TWRP-3.0.0-0-victara.img, I get
cmd: getvar: partition-type:recovery
cmd: getvar:max-download-size
cmd: download:0096c000
cmd: flash:recovery
Mismatched partition size (recovery)

I was having this problem earlier too when I was trying to work around that. I'm going to try an alternate way of installing TWRP.
Really, all I want to do is get CMod. When I rooted my HTC Inspire 4G, it was a cakewalk... I didn't expect all this LOL

Yeah, btw, I have an xXT1095
So I managed to get TWRP installed on my XT1095 using the "WinDroid" toolkit I found somewhere on XDA. It seems to push the right fastboot commands, but I had to manually download and select an older TWRP version. Read something about our recovery partition not working with the newer versions. I still got the mismatch error, but when I rebooted into recovery TWRP was there.
I haven't ventured back to try it again after having to wipe and start over...bleh.
Twrp manager (from the playstore) is what I had to use to install recovery. Windroid wouldn't push it for some reason.
