[Q] How to update to Froyo 2.2? (Panama Latin America)

Hi everyone, i have a question i want to update my GT-I9000T from 2.1update1 to Froyo 2.2, i tried to update via kies but kies tell me i have the latest firmware i guess is because of my region, anyway i readead that kies could be patch to update the phone in this threat:

my question are:
is possible to update it via kies with that patch? if not how can i update it with odin (direct link to a guide would be awesome)?
do i need to unlock my network first before trying to update my phone?
if i update which version of froyo 2.2 ill get? european, usa, asia, which one?
im afraid that if i update my phone via kies without unlocking it first i wont be able to use my phone with my current network provider.

Everything you need is on Samfirmware.com
The stock firmware files, "Odin" to flash the stick files, even the tutorial is on there too. Just register first, and you're all set...

[Q] Im sinking in despair, ROOT GONE after update

my new Samsung note has just had a update today with new firmware, my Original is in my profile. This new Base-band N7000XXLB2 got rid of root & superuser etc, everything seam to be works,but the pen is not working properly... IS there anyway I can get root back on this new LB2 f/w Please, very grateful for any help..

It showed you because its the latest F/W for your location.As far as rooting,simple search would do.Go to dev section and search.Or read this.

Basically, most ota updates will lose root. Safest way to keep root on update is use mobile Odin on device and download update package from samfirmware or Dr. Ketans guide.

Hi there any chance to get a the offical update in .tar.md5 ? for european users i look in samfiremware and nothing posted about for download link ? why they are so stupid and dont get the software for all... ? i`am stuck on 4.4.2 G900AUCU2ANG3, if i tick the update software and i recive the blesseing message "Current software is up to date" please try in 24 hours again ! ! ??? any chance to have the file for upgrade on odin ?

[SM-G870A] Firmware update to CPB3 request

Hello!
I wonder, if anyone could provide an update.zip file or URL to AT&T's s5 active (g870a) for LMY47X.G870AUCS2CPB3 build.
Unfortunately, i'm not in US atm, so cannot get AT&T sim to do the update.... and both AT&T and Samsung refuses to provide any assistance (who would wonder....)
So maybe someone has downloaded the update file, or could do full backup of the latest version to flash?

The firmware was pushed OTA, but I was able to find it a website called galaxys6edgeupdate, since I couldn't find it on here or sammobile
