Notification/Alarm/Priority nonsense - Verizon LG G2

Ok so I am just now jumping on the lollipop bandwagon and naturally I am now victim to the utter insanity that was Googles decisions to completely rape the notification method we are all used to. There are literally thousands of support requests online of people begging for a solution to this, and all of them sound like total crap. I dont even know what to ask, other than surely you know what I mean. There is no silent mode in android anymore. It's this weird "priority" crap. If you try to silence your phone you silence the alarms too, WHICH IS NUTS! So now my stupid phone is waking me up in the middle of the damn night to alert me that my ****ing battery has charged and the only way I can deal with it is to completely silence the entire damn thing and use an alternative alarm on my desk drawer. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!
So I beg of you, how in the bloody HELL am I supposed to make this phone act like it used to. This weird priorty/non-priority thing just makes no sense to me whatsoever. I want my phone SILENT AT NIGHT, but I still want the ****ing alarm to go of!!! jesus christ

SOLVED: Installed CM12.... ****in google lol.

[Q] Most things do not work when at low battery

I just hate this. The phone might have more than 2 hours battery, but still disables the music player, the radio and a bunch of other stuff saying that battery is too low. Is there anyway to tweak this out?
Personally I love this feature. Coming from multiple Nokia's which used to give me about 10 seconds advance warning before going completely dead, it is refreshing to have a phone which detects well ahead of time that it should take action to avoid running out of juice entirely (and does something about it).

I agree that it is a good idea, but it gives a too early warning. It starts doing this when you have hours of battery juice left.
Especially the photo function annoys me; sometimes I just HAVE to take THAT unique picture!

Quite agree thats annoying (atleast a bit too early).
However, it does not change the fact that this is posted in wrong forum.
is possible disable it?
I hate this feature as well.... I was watching a movie on a plane, and with 10 minutes left in the movie, the damn phone wouldn't let me watch it!! I'm ok with the warnings, please do tell me when my battery is low, but don't restrict me! I want to be able to do whatever I want to MY phone, whenever I want, regardless of how much battery is left... If I have 10 min left of battery and I want to spend those last 10 min of battery watching a movie or listening to music, then LET ME! This is a lousy feature.... Android phones should have an advanced mode that could disable all these crappy features that are clearly geared toward the ignorant consumer group.
Yea I hate this feature, sometimes I need to take one picture but i cant since i have "low" battery..
I really wish there was a fix to disable that =\
Instead of editing each app which disables based on battery life, could we possibly modify the file tht holds the current battery value (if there is one), make it say 30 and change its permissions to read only. Just a thought, awaiting responses.
+1 on hating the restricting feature, at least allow turning the stupid thing off in the settings menu. I rather my phone dies while taking a video rather then preventing me of taking it in the 1st place.
Yes, this is stupid and annoying. I was at some car diagnostics guy who read can errors from my car, and I was taking photos to note them... My battery turned 19 and I wasn't able to took one last picture. So fuc#@%# useless and annoying

[Q] New to Smartwatches....many questions

Hey, Group...
Got my Gear 2 Neo a few months ago....I expected some "growing pains" out of a new system (and I haven't been disappointed)...but I guess my first question is:
Where The Aitch-Ee-Double-Toothpicks are the *SECONDS*?
Whose Bright Idea was it to eliminate those nasty, useless seconds from the Clock? (same people that want to get rid of the Penny, I'm betting)
This is a *WATCH*...not a *Sundial*!
I want to use one of the basic clocks...they are clean and easy to read...but unless I get some weird Retro LCD Clockface...or an Analog...I can't seem to get *seconds*....It's obviously possible *to* display them (other faces have 'em)...why not the Stock Clock? What gives??? (*pant*pant*pant*)....okay...I'm a little better, now.
But seriously...I repair Medical equipment for a living; that often relies on synchronized data.....I need to be able to set those devices *accurately*...not "Aww...plus-or-minus a couple of minutes is fine!"
So...that's the first question (okay...I guess it was more of a Rant *blushes*)....the Second Question is.....is there anyplace to actually *interact* with the Tizen Devs? I went to the Tizen site...and I thought they made it pretty clear that if you're not a Dev...they really don't want to hear from you.)
Ive got nothing against Hacking (running People's ROM on my Galaxy S3)...but if you don't *need* to hack it...why bother?
Okay...next ones are regarding Apps (or the lack thereof):
Does anyone know of an App that will turn *off* the Inertia Sensor for a specific period of time? Specifically, I'd like to wear my Neo to bed...but every time I move in my sleep, it turns on, and ticks my wife off...so turning the Intertia sensor off between, say, 10PM and 6AM would be *awesome*! (Obviously, turning it on from the "Home" Button would still work)
And...I know this is an Issue...because I've seen some other posts about it, but no Solutions....is there a way to make the Weather app update more than twice a day? I flat *cannot* force it to update, unless I reset *everything* (Watch and phone)
I guess the corollary to that question is: Do any of you guys know of anyone Developing a Weather App *besides* AccuWeather? (I'd *love* to see WeatherBug do one...but that prolly won't happen...they can't fit Ads onto the Watch face...)
Thanks in advance, guys (and gals)...I'm really not a raving lunatic (most of the time) :silly:
I can't address all these issues but generally seconds are left off of stock watch faces to save battery. I just turned off the motion action altogether because the watch turned on at very weird times whether I was sleeping or not. I got used to using the button to see the time very quickly.
I know that is not a help but there you are.
Fred
The Weather channel has an app for the watch, although it doesn't have the option of adding it to the clock "window".
I use the sleep tracker at night and it has an option to have it turn on Block mode and that keeps the watch from coming on when moving in your sleep, as well as coming on for any notifications from your phone.
not sure on the Tizen development question though.

[Q] 4.4 Alarm when phone is OFF

Hi all,
I just upgraded to KitKat and was really disappointed to notice the alarm won't work any more when the phone is OFF.
That was a great feature, something I've always missed since I moved from Nokia to Android smartphones...
Is there a way to restore this functionality?

Did you try Airplane mode....?
I wonder why, WHY, in every thread about the alarm there is someone coming out with "Why don't you use airplane mode?"
Don't get me wrong, I don't mean to be rude, but airplane mode and OFF are not the same thing.
The phone is still doing stuff, app are still running in background, power is used.
"But in airplane mode the battery usage is almost null..." yep, almost...
People get mad about the TV's LED staying on but then it's ok for the phone...
I think (as many other people do) that the alarm working when the phone is off is a great feature.
People have been complaining for years about the lack of this on Android. Some dug deep into hardware spreadsheets to prove it was possible while Google and the producers kept blaming each other.
Finally HTC made it, and now, no one knows why, with Android 4.4 they've removed the feature.
I don't want other "solutions", I'm asking if there is a way to restore the Alarm-when-the-phone-is-off functionality on 4.4.

Ok first off for the alarm to ring the phone is not fully off. IT is nothing more then being in airplane mode with the screen blacked out. As HTC removed it and Sense is closed sourced (this is fast boot related) there is no option to return it.

Do you have any source for this?

You would have to search deep as this is old knowledge from when it was first done on dumb phones back around the motor razor. It is not a new feature in the least. I am sure you can search around and dig up the info. You can test it yourself by running a logcat while you charge with power off.

Technically dumb

I have a stalker ex husband who tracks my every move on my phone. His do I stop this. It's driving me crazy. I have no idea about technology or what to do:

Question My phone randomly talks something about the time

My phone randomly talks something about the time, I'm not getting what she saying (woman voice).
Talkback option is off, I checked that one.
What is this, this is so annoying and creepy.
This is not the first bug, since I bought this phone.
Anyone can help me?
Something put into clock settings?
I found this similar problem, I have exactly the same:
"A couple days ago I started hearing a womans voice at random times, like I had butt dialed someone, but I could Identify where it was coming from. Then while I was scrolling on my phone I hear something something "time". Finally in the middle of the night when everything else was quiet I hear it clear as a bell. A robotic female voice saying "it is time". No notification. No background apps running. I've done a few things to check those things and can't find anything. It is slightly annoying. But more so, creepy AF. Any help would be appreciated."
It's Big Brother sending you subliminal messages
Don't see what it could be other than a notification related thing...something you already forgot that you enabled. There are SO many settings, I doubt I could bring my phone to the same exact config after a factory default.
Try using the notification history feature to track this ghost down.
This sounds like an accessibility setting turned on to me

Ah, yes. That must be it. Good thinking.
I'm betting that you will find the culprit in Bixby Routines. It's under Advanced features.
your question is your phone talks about time, for that u will have to search on google ..
I tried everything, but couldn't helped. I did a factory reset. I always hate to do that, because It takes to much time to put back everything and set up, but at least it helped.
Thanks to everyone.
