[Trailblazer101][ROM][7/18][OF1] LightlyCleaned/Rooted ROM - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge

LightlyCleaned/Rooted ROM - OF1
What's going on once again everyone! Man it's been kinda quiet in here... Well, since no one else has released a ROM yet for OF1 I'd release what I threw together. It is rooted, includes BusyBox, and removes everything I didn't want. (Except Visual Voicemail, for those of you who like that kinda thing...)
The Deodexed version contains all updated Base Google and Samsung Apps incorporated into System, thus freeing up data space. I didn't include this in the odexed version because these files aren't odexed xD
PLEASE READ!
WARNING: If considering downgrading back to OC3 or OE2, which you CAN do with this, you will need to flash the FLASH_ME package once more, until I figure out a proper procedure for a full downgrade. This package just contains the OF1 modem (radio), which works with both previous builds, so it's really not a big deal, but just keep this in mind if you ODIN...
We have reached the crossroads. Build OF1 now includes the rollback protection we have seen in other variants ROMs, especially 5.1.1... This is unfortunate because OF1 is also not root-able, at this very moment. What I have done, to maintain being able to rollback, is take the system files and modem from OF1, and retain everything else from OE2. This means that you should be on OE2 already. I can confirm that all important services works fine with this setup. (I will note however that there are errors in the adb log involving Secure Storage, which doesn't mean much since other ROMs actually willingly remove this functionality)
This procedure will almost guaranteed not work for future updates, so we will have to update the bootloader/etc eventually. But today is not that day for me. If another user wants everything up to date (kernel, recovery, bootloader, etc) I can guide them through that, but right now I don't want to take that step myself.
The good news is that you don't have to flash anything with ODIN if you don't want to this time around, granted you are already on OE2. Using FlashFire, you will flash my FLASH_ME package at the same time you flash my ROM.
Step-By-Step
Flash the ROM and FLASH_ME package at the same time using FlashFire.

Will your edge packages and WiFi tether work on this?
Sent from my SM-G925V using Tapatalk

first of all thanks for this!
i just recently started from scratch and put on your OE2 version. is there much to gain by upgrading to this? just deciding if i should wait for the next big one.
i would do it in a second if reception improved.
thanks

If I am on oc3 what are the proper steps to upgrade to this?

Sorry for my confusion, but is this the 5.1.1 update? I can't find any documentation elsewhere for OF1.

This was a problem in CleanRom 1.5 also I believe, I have not personally tested it but I assume this should fix it

It's running great!! Nice work

Great work! Quick question though, once we go OF1, can we still Odin back to OC3? Thanks in advance!!

Can anyone confirm whether the Theme Store works? I couldn't get it in the last build as it would force close on me as soon as I opened it.

You can rollback to OC3 or OE2, but it's a bit tricky. If you are going to try it, be sure to ask trailblazer how to proceed. And for the other person who asked about Theme Store, it works just fine.

If the OF1 modem works in OE2, can't you just flash fire back your OE2 backup? unless of course the modem does not work and you would have to flash OE2 modem back as well. Just guessing here. Lol.

If you just flash the tar file in Odin for OC3 or OE2, you will end up with an "update failed" blue screen. When you get the blue screen, flash trailblazer's FLASH_Me modified OF1 file using Odin, and you'll be able to boot, then go back and reflash OC3 or OE2 using Odin, whichever you prefer.

So there's no going back using flashfire alone? He has us flashing the new modem along side the ROM to get it up and running using flashfire only.

You should still be able to rollback, if I'm not mistaken, I believe the bootloader + Kernel are where the rollback protection is built-in. That's why we flash - Only - the modem. Dev did the tedious transferring of system files manually, from OF1. At least that's my understanding.

Does this ROM fix the memory leak issue? Because I have much better RAM usage now. I also have been seeing really great battery life, I'm a heavy phone user and I get 8+ hours out of this.

[ROM] G900TUVU1BNH5 ported from TMobile, rooted, deodexed, no knox, Download Booster

** DISCLAIMER: I AM NOT A DEVELOPER. I DO THIS AS A HOBBY AND SHARE MY FINDINGS IN CASE SOMEONE ELSE FINDS THEM USEFUL. **
** THIS WORKED ON MY DEVICE BUT IT MAY NOT WORK ON YOURS. APPLY AT YOUR OWN RISK **
This is the latest KitKat 4.4.2 Rom from T-mobile. I ported it to ATT and tried to apply just enough modification to keep all the functionality and remove all the limitations. Nothing has been removed from the rom. The disabled apps are kept to a very minimum so this is NOT a de-bloated ROM. This is as close to stock as it gets. If you need a debloated version go here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/att-galaxy-s5/development/rom-debloated-bnh5-ported-tmobile-t2901620
1- Pre-rooted and deodexed.
2- Knox, security apps, and updater disabled (your phone will no longer update itself without your knowledge)
3- Call recording enabled.
4- SDcard write restrictions removed.
5- Tethering restrictions removed.
6- Download Bosoter functional on AT&T network.
7- Lookout security and T-mobile apps that don't work on ATT are disabled.
If a certain features like WiFi calling doesn't work it's because AT&T doesn't support the feature.
Requirements:
1- Safestrap or custom recovery.
2- To begin with, you should be on ATT NCE4 rom or a variant of that. It has been reported that this is incompatible with NG3
Download link:
Download the latest version since I post an update immediately after discovering a bug.
Mega https://mega.co.nz/#!gpUAxBqI!ukloBoz5KRzixo8a2cEXxsmJ_K0z-8LAYDfKerkWG4U (version 5)
Instructions:
This is a flashable zip. Boot to recovery to flash it. I strongly recommend a clean wipe before flashing a new Rom.
After reboot, go through the initial setup and then leave the phone alone for 10 minutes before you use it. After the first reboot the data connection takes a while to be recognized. If it does not connect after 10 min, enable and disable airplane mode and it should be fine after that.

Screenshots
Download booster, home screen, call recording.
Change log:
V1: Disabled knox and updaters and security apps except for Lookout.
V2: Same as V1 with Lookout and T-mobile apps disabled.
V3: Essentially the same as V2. A small type was corrected.
V4: Disabled IQ lib and corrected a potentially fatal typo in the update script.
V5: Disabled two more annoying Samsung auto-update apps that somehow slipped through.
Amazing thanks

Any benefits of features to this to make it worth while over say, Goldeneye (MI2) or an International based ROM?

This is closer to pure stock, which may offer benefits in stability. As an example, when I flash this on my system the status remains official (no padlock on boot up).
Tried it. Still full of TMobile bloat and couldn't even do anything with it because "Context Service has stopped". Couldn't type anything anywhere like web browser, couldn't edit the notification toggles, anything. Generally has WAY too many TMobile remnants left in it. Once that's all fixed it might be stable. Not entirely sure this was even tested out.
Also, idk what "Security Apps" were removed but Lookout is most annoyingly still there.
Before it's asked yes, It was a CLEAN freshly wiped install.

I flashed this using safestrap on a phone that had G900AUCU1ANCE installed. Since safestrap does not allow boot.img to be written, the result was that after the flash AP and CSC changed to BNH5 but the kernel remained at ANCE1. With this configuration I didn't see any problems. Also, this rom doesn't come with a modem, so it relies that the phone comes with unaltered ATT modem, in my case ANCE1. So, do you have a different kernel or modem?
BTW, disabled security apps are Carrier IQ, and security manager service/provider.
PS: I agree with you on Lookout being a nuisance. I will disable it and re-upload.

OP, can you do something similar with a stock G900F firmware that will be able to be flashed on a G900A?
I have a smg900az - on tmobile
I have a smg900az on Tmo- I want this rom for this purpose. Does this include tmobile AND att modems, or just att? I am downgrading from lollipop..
Because I am sure there are others with ATT based phones who may be on TMO- would you mind if I kang your rom, debloat it, or include a debloat option, add features, etc? All credit would be given to your base.. and it would be a minute before I can get it done anyways..
P.S. PLEASE PLEASE post the md5 checksum for each version! Many of us dont want to spend the time wiping, flashing, finding out it is corrupt, then having to restore, etc!
Attached is the md5 file for version 5 that es-file explore pushed out
md5: a40d7d1ee9903bbec056cd29d52c0277 <--- flashed without a hitch
also- downgraded from a lollipop rom(Liquidsmooth 5.0 revision 2 from the unified dev section) without anything special.. so now sure what is meant by-"To begin with, you should be on ATT NCE4 rom or a variant of that. It has been reported that this is incompatible with NG3" - but perhaps you should link to anything that explains why you believe this..
I am inviting you to a document here where I hope to get developers/contributors for all galaxy variants sharing their knowledge openly- http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...mplified-to-connect-developers-share-t2997834

Maybe you can clarify- the big modem thread on the tmo S5 section said not to flash their modems on another device.
My phone is back on tmo, so I imagine that running a tmo modem could increase reception..
And if you're willing to add flashable scripts that debloat and some others that make some good changes to the build prop- you have a good base, I wouldn't change it.. then people can just add/remove specific features in your own thread.
Join that Google doc in the last post, and create a section about what you've learned porting over the tmo rom.. more devs need to take it seriously.

Yes. Samsung account apps are disabled. You can go to /system/app or /system/priv-app, find the app that you want to enable, and renaming it from wuteverthenameiz.apk.bac to wuteverthenameiz.apk and reboot.
Since I'm on ANG3 rooted, no recovery, I'm happy with my current setup, I just need the stock T-Mobile apps. Can you help?

When time permits, I'll give it a shot. Kind of funny I'm going to uninstall my old (disabled ROM slot) Safestrap v. 3.73 for a newer Safestrap with the same version number.
Would my older TWRP Safestrap backups work in different slots to switch from NH3 to NE3 and then back again? Just curious if the locked bootloader would allow that, not that I have any inclination to revert from NH3 to NE3, because NH3 works better for me.
@muniz_ri, you've helped me out quite a bit in the past. Thank you for this SafeStrap slot development. You really should include a "Donate" link in your profile. :good:
Also, is it still advisable to flash the Safestrap i537_kitkat_masterpatch-v.2.zip?

Is the i537_kitkat_masterpatch-v.2.zip needed? It is referred to in the first post of the OP here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2791564
with a download link here: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=15875
Asking if this ...masterpatch-v2 is needed or not because of the following problems.
1. Safestrap slots were working although shutdown was problematic with 'long push'.
2. Within Safestrap, it failed to install i537_Update.zip with Slot-1 active. This .zip, thanks to @Devo7v, can be found in the first post of the OP here:

Unofficial Flashable Zip 127MB (can only be flashed through SafeStrap) FYI, this zip matched its MD5 signature.
I also had over 6Gb of internal storage available.
Has anyone successfully installed i537_Update.zip with this 'fixed' version of SafeStrap into an extra ROM slot?
In the meantime I am back to rooted NH3 along with "disabled single Stock slot" version of Safestrap.

I think you're a little bit confused about what the i537_Update.zip is for. That zip file updates your stock NE3 firmware to NH3. It will update system files, the modems, and parts of the kernel. It should not be used on any custom ROMs or ROM slots. It should only be used to update your stock ROM. The reason it was posted is because if you are currently rooted on NE3 firmware, you cannot install the official OTA update without completely wiping your phone and returning to stock NE3. The i537_Update.zip bypasses the signature checks in the OTA and allows you to update your phone from NE3 to NH3 whether you're rooted or not.
I haven't used the newest version of SafeStrap but I'm almost certain you would need to flash the masterpatch-v2 after flashing a custom ROM to a new ROM slot. The masterpatch allows the custom ROM to access certain functions of your stock kernel; without it you're probably going to have issues with your wifi and camera on your new ROM. Hopefully I was able to clear things up and not confuse you even more.
Works with custom rom
I got Hyperdrive v19 working with rom slot. I flashed the masterpatchv2 and everything seems to be working. Starting this process I had rooted stock NE3 and removed the old safestrap as instructed. Installed the new safestrap, created rom slot, and flashed rom and patch. Install was simple with no problems.
If anyone has questions I can give more details or help troubleshoot.

Nope, don't have xposed installed. Can't figure this one out!
Thinking about just pulling the apk apart and shoving the bits in where they "belong" (effectively reversing the manual SS uninstall steps).
But it's way too late at night for me to think about that right now.

Ahh, my bad. I had just assumed (and you know what they say about that) that since it was the same version and from androidfilehost, that it was the first one I had grabbed.
This one installed successfully and it just finished creating rom-slot-1 for me!
Doing a backup of the base rom... then on to installing hyperdrive into rom-slot-1 and applying masterpatchv.2. Am I missing any steps there or is it really that simple now?
Update: Installed HD 18.1, insalled master patch.2, enabled USB debugging so I could enter APN settings. Still had the camera FC, speakerphone wouldn't work and wi-fi would not turn on.
Going back to stock and restoring my backup for now... will have to try this again later.

A little more specific? Don't see either of those files sitting around on my phone (which is back to running stock).
I packaged up my own zip last night adding in all of the /etc/wifi files and also updated the dhd.ko and scsi_wait_scan.ko files in there (the ones in the masterpatch zip were outdated when compared with my stock versions). But it was all to no avail.

* G925VVRS4DQD1 * Full Odin Nougat 7.0 Firmware *

Hello!
Here is the full G925VVRS4DQD1 Odin manual update to 7.0 Nougat for everyone to enjoy. You can flash from any current version you have now it doesn't matter whether you are on 5.1.1 or 6.0.1.
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=529152257862722630
If for whatever reason you want to downgrade or don't like 7.0, you can safely downgrade to any of the below versions without any issues. After you flash a lower android version using Odin, phone might get stuck on Verizon logo. If that happens, all you need to do is boot into recovery and do a factory wipe/reset and phone will boot right up after that.

@toutanje Out of curiosity, how did you determine which builds you can safely downgrade to from 7.0? Is it something you personally tested or did someone recently go through the hard work and post their results somewhere? BTW, you can now add G925VVRS4CQA3 (6.0.1) - https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=529152257862700500 as two people have confirmed downgrade success here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-galaxy-s6-edge/help/downgrading-nougat-t3601096 . One used firmware from sammobile and the other directly from the link above. This is the very last build available for Marshmallow.
Hi there. I installed the new update on my s6 edge 7.0 via verizon software updating tool.am noticing the sound quality of mt s6 edge has been changed.before the sound quality was thick and now its not that thick anymore.i want to bring back the thick quality sound on my s6 edge.there is setting called sound quality and effects but i cant manage to get back that sound quality i had with 6.0. With a very a simple observation, no testing or anything needed
G925VVRS4DQD1 <-- you see the 4 towards the end of firmware build? That is the revision bit number. This means you can flash ANY firmware for that model with a 4 or higher. Take this 5.1.1 firmware for example ---> G925VVRU3BOG5. Even though this firmware is also 5.1.1 like the ones from above, this particular one will NOT work because it is on an older firmware revision bit (3).
The same is true and goes for ALL Samsung phone/tablet models and firmwares.

That is very good to know. Yeah I noticed it about the firmware naming convention but I had no idea what the value means (or the character before revision bit, U has become S). My phone out of the box was on G925VVRU3BOG5, so I guess I could go all the way back to G925VVRU4BOG7 if "needed" lol.
One of my fears about Nougat is about all the work they did to automate and place updates into the background. This could allow disabling of downgrades, or anything else at the discretion of Samsung and/or the carrier. I think this has already been done in Marshmallow, just on a smaller scale for security fixes. Anyway, it seems to me like an attack vector waiting to happen: less control over my phone combined with an easy way to break things. Imagine all the troubleshooting fun we will have.
So I upgraded to nougat. I'm having battery issues and just want to go back to marshmallow. but I'm having problems. The nougat rom installs just fine with odin. But when I try with any of the 6.0.1 roms it was failing. Then I noticed that re-partition was chcekd. So I unchecked it and now it goes through the process just fine. But now the complains with dm-verity verification failed. I can install nougat on it no problem. It's just the downgrade that's not working... any clues?

I actually managed to get the N925V to downgrade all the way back to the firmware version G925VVRU3BOG5.. May have cost some money for some very specific files but my phone's back on G925VVRU3BOG5 and it's really only a test phone for someone I do work for! I have it rooted with SuperSU and not kingroot and I created a script to keep the phone set to "permissive" so it's able to do full reboots and not just hot reboots using xposed... Unfortunately it seemed like no one cared about it when I posted it in the other thread so it's probably not worth it to a lot of people but I think it is with the amount of fine tuning I did to get it to where it is today!!

Mike! Can you explain how you did it? I'm stuck on nougat. Every time I try to downgrade, I get the dm verity error. I've tried all the 6.0.1 version and the 5.0.1. No luck . I'm back on nougat. Can you please let us know your process... Thanks!
Did you have to select anything special in the options? I just left it at default which is Auto reboot & F. Reset Time.

I mean I could but I had to shell out some money for this firmware and I don't even know if you can flash it with odin because I don't use odin I bought a box to do my flashing since I work on so many phone's and odin just doesn't cut it.
No Worries. Finally figured it out. Good luck to you

I was able to use this to flash my Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge from 5.1.1 to 7.0.
Not that I want to upgrade again, but is there a 7.1.2 available? Is there a routine schedule for that sort of thing or was the 7.0 Nougat think kind of a special case?
Thanks!

I haven't been keeping up, but now curious. Verizon shows DQH1 as current (a 7.0 build), while sammobile and androidfilehost show four builds available (all 7.0).
Ok, so I updated my G925V with nougat, now I'm just wondering if anyone has come out with a way to root this build? That's what I'm waiting for. Plz fill me in when that happens. Thanks.

I use the Z3x box and Octoplus box I have 2 of them for different phone makers but I have so many different wire connectors that I lost count because what works on Samsung doesn't work on LG, HTC etc etc.. You can find them pretty cheap but I'd avoid buying from eBay because of to many scams selling broken or bad boxes that can't be activated.

You unfortunately cannot downgrade the bootloader once you updated to 6.0.1 you lost the ability to go back and there's so far, no way possible to do it.

G900AUCS4DQD1 ** FULL ODIN UPDATE ** v6.0.1

Hello everyone, here is the latest G900AUCS4DQD1 full Odin update. With this, you may update from ANY version you currently have such as 4.4.4, 5.0, 5.1.1, or 6.0.1. Simply flash all 4 files after you extract using Odin and you will be on the latest and newest update. This WILL wipe your phone so make sure you backup your phone.
G900AUCS4DQD1 (6.0.1) - https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=529152257862725335
If for any reason you wish to downgrade, you can safely flash any of the following full Odin firmware's without any issue. Phone will hang after flashing on startup at AT&T logo. Simply boot into recovery and perform factory wipe/reset and it will boot up fine after that. After wiping data/resetting phone, it will look like it got stuck again on AT&T logo but give it a few minutes and it will eventually pass this time.

G900AUCS4DPH4 (6.0.1) - https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=312968873555011029
G900AUCS4CPA6 (5.1.1) - https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24723757092307204
G900AUCU4COI5 (5.1.1) - https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24438995911970945
G900AUCU4BOF3 (5.0) - https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=529152257862696776
Thank you again for the files, appreciated!
So, what am I doing incorrectly?
Used S5 900A on OI5
Downloaded the full Odin QC1 file.
flashed with Odin 3.11
No error messages, flashed all 4 files.
Got immediately dumped to recovery after an error screen saying the phone couldn't access knox.
Reboot, and the phone shows stuck on 5.1.1, with a baseband of QC1. It appears to be still the 5.1.1 software/ui.
tried a factory reset from recovery, no joy.
Currently downloading QD1 Odin file, I will report back.
edit: after a second full flash of all 4 files, it worked. wierd. Now running QC1. will updated to QD1 via odin shortly.
disregard this post in it's entirety. :silly:
and the QD1 Odin package flashed perfectly first time!
awesome work. thanks.
I just downloaded the 2.1Gb QD1 file, and the CRC check on the AP tar file says failed. Should I go ahead and flash my phone, is there any risk?
Downloaded the QD1 update without problems...now I wonder, how necessary is it ? since the phone is working fine.

That's funny, I've been thinking the same thing. I will admit battery life is really good as well, but I'm thinking the new battery and the factory data reset played a role as well. Haha...

Installed flawlessly, I guess it's all about security that can't be seen nor noticed.
Many thanks to sharing.
Worked great! Dug the old s5 out of the bin, put this on, worked like a charm, thanks!
Trying to download but getting "failed network error" for every mirror link.
Edit: Nevermind. Found the thread that allowed me to root it from OF3 which I didn't know was possible. Went that route instead.
Can I use this file and method to update from my Galaxy S5 G900A running 4.4.2? My device in not rooted and the bootloader is locked. It is in it's original factory state.
No more update?
QE1 ?
It seems that Samsung will not be providing any further updates, so my question is, will AT&T release Noughat for Samsung Galaxy 5 G900A or is that pipe dream at this point? I didn't want to create a new thread for just this question.
Does this Update maintain root?
Thank you very much for this. After trying to root my device and failing, I couldn't get it back to normal. Hours of trying later and nothing worked, not even custom ROMs. I gave up and decided to go nuclear but still couldn't get it to work. Finally I found this, and it worked. Saved my bacon.
Guys,
I was on Android 4.4.2 which was the way the phone came. I jumped from 4.4.2 straight to this update, and installed it via Odin. No issues with the update, everything works fine.
However, There is a lot of free space on the ROM "missing", and I don't know where it is and how I can release it.
The phone is a 16gB model. What is available is 11.4 gB (the remaining probably being the firmware and OS), but of that 11.4gB, I only have about 7.5 gB to use. What gives? Is it because Odin made some kind of backup on the ROM itself? I really really would appreciate some information on this.
Thanks,
Mir
Oldies Gratitude...
Hi, I just thought you might like to know that thanks to your post and clear instructions (i.e. not assuming the reader has an encyclopedic knowledge of the S5...) I have been able to update my AT&T S5, here in the UK from Android 5 to marshmallow with everything going very smoothly. The reason I thought to write this little note is because I was born in 1947, which makes me 70 years old, and when I was growing up, the idea of a mobile phone was science fiction, so if I can do it...!
So Thank you again for sharing your expertise....
Plz upload new link with mediafire or any other, this link giving error and give message error binary md5...
waiting....
Regard
Ashiq Noor.
Dear File is corrupt when extract through winrar or 7zip give error The file is corrupt. plz provide another link.

Just got my R1 HD - is it safe to update to current OTA release?

Before rooting/removing ads etc, I want to use the phone for a week or so stock so Ill have a baseline to compare it to.
Would it be OK to let the phone update fully while using it? I know with some devices (Amazon kindle) if you update it to a certain point, then there is no going back and the bootloader gets locked.
Lemme know what you think.

If you allow it to update, you will not be able to unlock bootloader, so if you want to root do not update.
The latest update has been posted in this forum, so you are not missing any of the update by rooting either.

Is the root junky method still good?
https://youtu.be/KMobKWfZbJg
Or should I follow a different guide? I know some of his files on his website are outdated.
I also am having a problem when trying to use the flashtool. When I plug my phone in powered off, at first it says the battery is low no matter what, then disconnects, then says 95% or whatever it is. This is preventing me from using flashtool when in download mode.
Any idea why this is happening? My r1 hd is on 6.0 btw

All the R1-HD line is on Android 6.0
The Blu release version is what changes.
I believe this was the order
6.1
6.4
6.5
6.6
7.4.2
8.3
8.4
The flashtool stopped working at v6.6
The new method was the use dirty cow. There is a tool thread for directions.
This new method stopped working at v8.3

So the phone is brand new from Amazon, haven't touched it or even connected it to the internet. Not home right now, but I remember seeing software version 6.0 not Android 6.0.
Anyways, I guess I should look into the dirty cow method. Do you have the link?

Is there a ROM i should flash afterwards?
I just installed twrp using the dirty cow method (steps 1-4), and then also did step 5-1 (install supersu).
At this point, in the past Ive always just flashed a brand new rom and gapps. Is there a "stock" rom that I should flash with twrp - which is just the stock rom with no ads? And which build should I? Im on 6.6 right now.
Ive read that lineage has some problems with the camera - no big deal ill roll will the stock non-ad rom for now.
Thanks again!

So the non-prime ROMs latest is v21 it comes with none of the prime ads.
Or v8.4 that came with the ads but they were removed. .some have said n-ify not working on 8.4 but does on 21. I do not know first hand.

You will have to do SuperSU again after the rom

Last question(s):
So I installed V21, supersu, removed ALL amazon with dirtycow.
1. Is my phone now disabled from receiving OTA updates? Or do I have to do something else to make sure auto updates are OFF.
2. Is there a way to remove this stupid blu app (blu help) that keep requiring me to register my device? Every time I power on I have to force stop the app or I have a constant notification to do it.
Thanks again!

The debloat done with the tool supposed to have disabled the ota checker program.
And as a second method of not getting ota, having twrp and root will also make the ota fail even if it was to download.
The Blu app is called warrenteer. What I do is belete the whole folder.
/system/priv-app/warrenteer
You can take baby steps and just rename the apk inside that folder to add "-" or "_" to end of it's name
This can be done with a root explorer app or with recovery file manager. Either way.
