Download the factory image. Extract the .img files. Then fastboot flash them.

Can someone provide me the stock recovery image for 4.4.4 xt1052 asia retail unit?
I have the factory image of UK Retail downloaded and wonder whether it's recovery would work on my Asia Retail phone for Future OTAs.
Someone kindly answer that.
If you have the 4.4.4 fxz/sbf for your XT1052, flash boot and system images to go back to stock kernel.
The thing is that I've factory image for Retail UK unit and I've a Asia retail unit. And there's no factory image available for Asia retail as of now.
Would the recovery from retail UK image work on my moto X?
Bump?

Once a phone is on 4.4.4, downgrading to 4.4.3 or lower will usually result in a brick (there are enough threads and posts about downgrading attempts already)
So I wouldn't suggest that without also including a warning that it could brick.
Before you post that the XT1052 is an exception Please start reading the discussion at Post #192 through post # 230. OR read this one example I found via a quick search -> http://besttopics.net/link/100397_q-can-t-boot-into-system-is-it-bricked or this one -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x/general/hardbrick-moto-x-sign-life-t2627499

If you're on complete stock,
Just run this command in fastboot mode
mfastboot oem lock
Updating from 5.0 to 5.0.1 I got a message that said "error" during the reboot and install phase. I had to manually shut down the phone and reboot. After the reboot, I noticed that there was no update available and my phone is still on 5.0. I've only unlocked the bootloader and does with CF. No custom recovery or rom.

You used CF so if you rooted it wont work.
As stated in the other threads, you cannot update if you have root. You need to unroot. The update notification will eventually pop up again,

Same issue - any change to the kernel or system files is going to cause this issue. You need to be completely stock (having the bootloader unlocked is not an issue)

You need to get stock before taking any OTA (bootloader being unlocked doesn't cause any issues with update). You can either download factory images for 5.0 and flash those (skip userdata.img if you don't want to lose data), and then take OTA, OR, do it the easier way - download factory images for 5.0.1 and flash those (skip userdata.img to avoid losing data)

huh? why relock bootloader? And that's not going to fix the issue with the modified system files

Exactly what I did following the guidence in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6/help/help-5-01-wipe-t2970924
Hello,
I have a question in regards to downgrading boot-loaders from bootloader-shamu-moto-apq8084-71.08 back to bootloader-shamu-moto-apq8084-71.05
So far I get an error message in fastboot when I try... "moto boot preflash validation failed"
I currently have latest 5.1
Thank you!!

Yes everything must be 100% stock and at the expected version for an OTA to work.

yea, that one is VERY easy. do not use the flash-all script, flaah each image file separately instead.

If you are trying to flash the flash-all.bat won't work unless your fastboot is sdk 23 or above. Have to fastboot each image file separately.

Have seen reports that it will. Have not tried and confirmed. I flash all individually anyway because don't always need all images when update. Flash-all going to wipe all data.
Has anyone been able to capture OTA OPW28.2 with security patch in May for manual installation?
I would have if the previous update hadn't broken ADB so I couldn't use logcat.
