I am using Samsung Galaxy S3 LTE GT-I9305.
I have been using this device for a long time. Recently its mother board was burned so i have to change it , and after some days of changing that , the problem came up.
When I call someone they cant hear me and i nether cant hear them. I tested my mic with Sound Recoding , mic is ok and checked receiver speaker with dialling *#0*# . I Tried to call some one using whatsapp and it works fine . Dont know whats the problem.
i tried to hard reset and it also doesnot works. I am using Stock Rom 4.3 It is the latest Rom in our Country. I havent Rooted the device yet. Please help me gys !
flash an stock(preferably updated) firmware via odin...hope it helps..

I'm facing a similar issue. I've never had any hardware problems. I've resorted to using a headset with every call to get around this. Thanks.

I have the same problem after... I tried every available modem and even flashed stock with odin.. it still doesn't work.. the call is made normally, but when the other person answers, i hear nothing and he doesn't hear me.. mic works and the speaker also.. so i really don't know whats broken here... maybe someone can help? it's really really annoying!
PS: I don't use OK Google detection (as I said even stock didn't work)
One of the system board chips is either dead, or needs some pressure (or heat). Check that out:

Hi guys!
I have Note N7000 which have only one but big problem... It isn't any voice sound during call. So I can't hear my opponent and the other side don't hear anything. But in FE skype or voice recorder everything works great! I tried many radios(modems), many ROMs. The device is from Hong Kong. Everything worked well but one day it started to work without sound. Nothing was installed etc.
Any ideas?

Hi guys. Sometimes when i am trying to talk with someone i just cant do it because sometimes i cant hear person that i am trying to talk with or that person cant hear me. So i decided to test my problem. So i downloaded Z-device tester. So mic cant record my voice in test , but when i try to record something in voice recorder it works. So what should i do i run stock ICS on my p990 . Should i do something with software or replace something. Help me guys pls...

I use it myself as a daily driver, with no problems what so ever.
is your problem like someone calls you and you simply can hear/talk back?
cuz I had that problem. only by calling people back I was able to get communication. My solution was to get kk124....
Update a recent ROM that solves the bug. Flash a ROM of tonyp, he has a good custom rom

Yeah that is it pretty much. Sometimes when I call someone and sound is muted for real and so person with who i am talking just cant hear me so explain me your solution pls. Ps my phone is not rooted i already wrote that.

Sorry for keep you on wainting.
Unfortunatly, kk124 needs a root phone as you will have to change your phone kernel to kowalsky kernel. =/

Ok if i root my phone how should i solve my problem..
As you read the title. This thread is about microphone problem. I have this microphone problem since last year. Whenever I call someone or someone calls me, they can't hear me because my mic is not working on call but when I record my voice, my mic works and also when I use online calls like Viber or wechat. My Mic also works, so I'm kinda curious that this mic problem of mine is kinda a software bug. Anyone knows the solution of this problem. Please Reply A.S.A.P.
P.S.
I just rooted my phone two weeks ago. Hoping that It can help my mic problem because I can flash roms but it doesn't still work.

Try revert back to stock rom and then see the mic is working or not !

I think it has something to do about the version. Even though I revert to my stock rom. It will not work because I have tried that solution of yours. I read the similar post about my poblem. But they didnt come up with a solution. Some says They updated their baseband version or kies it think?

So my microphone seems to not be activated for periods of time, and I can't figure out what causes it, or really even how to fix it.
For example, today at work I was able to make calls for several hours, but after getting off I made a couple more calls that failed because the other party couldn't hear me.
Sometimes I can start Google Now voice search with a 'google', but after I make one voice entry, I can't make another one, and the next time I manually press the voice key it won't pick up any sounds at all. Even Shazam has problems with the mic sometimes, showing no equalizer bars whatsoever.
I thought this was a hardware issue because I thought it started one day (about the 3rd day I'd had it) after I dunked the phone in the sink, but in the diagnostics app the mic seems to do fine.
Is anyone else having this issue? It's really starting to get on my nerves. I guess a factory reset is in order?
I'm also having trouble finding any consolidated info on this issue; threads seem to trail off without any clear solutions.

im having some problems withthe mic as well, the other party cannot here me here and there and Ive read some forums that it might be software. also there was a solution on installing different home program and not use xperias Launcher. so hope this will help till KIT KAT is here

My last phone xperia ZL have same issue like yours. When i call people they can't heard me anymore. I must put the phone in front of my face and talk straight to mic then other end can hear me well.
In fianl I call sony usa let them send me new one and they did.

I'm having the same issue. Didn't see an answer here so I looked on the Sony product support website, and there a few suggestions were made:
- use a factory SIM, not a scissor-cut SIM card
- update the firmware to the latest version
- turn off "Microphone noise suppression."

Good chance here to solve the problem. You can perform a factory reset after update as well or even now, this process sometime fix small issues.
is there any way to change from primary mic to make secondary mic use in calls? Like some build.prop tweak?

In build.prob there is no way to do that. To switch them I think you have to hack the kernel. Hacking kernel can be done on Custom one and for all this you have to have Unlocked Bootloader. Who can hack a kernel, just a Master.

Hello everybody. I just got a Samsung S4 Active phone. I have a big problem with it... When i call somebody i can not hear even the beeps and even the voices.. I need to recall somebody 3-4 time. Then i can talk . And when somebody calls me, we can't hear anything. I tried soft,hard, every resets. I even upgraded from 4.2.2 to 4.4.2 but nothing. The mic is working, i can record everything. The speaker up on the phone is working tooo. Call barring is off,forwarding is off, network mode is gsm only(not works even on the other settings..) i don't think that is a hardware problem.. any helps or everything is welcome.. you can even email me([email protected]) . PLEEEASE HEELP!!
