Hi,
I got the message to reboot my note pro after receiving automatic update (Dev-Rom).
After installing and rebooting the note pro hang. I get only the Mi-Logo.
I rebooted again and again...nothing.
What can I do?
Thank you all

Are u using the Chinese Developer ROM?
Each weekly Update will make you stuck in a boot-loop!
If you can't boot into your ROM anymore, flash the full ROM:
Download latest Xiaomi Mi Note Pro Latest Developer Version Fastboot File Download here
Unzip the Downloaded ROM file
Turn off the device. Press the Volume– key and the Power button at the same time to enter Fastboot mode. Then connect the device to the Windows PC/laptop via a micro USB cable
Download the Download MIUI ROM Flashing Tool from here here and install / extract it
Run the Flashing Tool
Select the extracted ROM folder
Click flash
If You want to do the weekly developer update without bootloop:
Disable Automatic Upgrades if you're on the Chinese Developer ROM
Download the full Chinese Developer ROM from here
Copy it to your device
Open the updater app
Click the menu button.
Select the menu option that says select update ZIP manually
Choose the downloaded full ROM ZIP
It reboots into recovery and automatically flashes the full ROM without producing boot loops
Be patient, it needs a long time, don't interrupt the process!

I Always download full custom rom 600mb++ and flash via updater, always no issue hehe, even with twrp or stock recovery also can
I'm currently a Beta tester for the chineese rom so I get updates 2-3 times a week and I'm always a couple updates in front and I have never ended up in a bootloop from usiing automatic updating
What is the way to update, via installer?
Hi Kahun
Thannk you for your comment. Whitch method do you use for the updates?
Do you use the updater-app or do you go inside the system of MIUI?
The last one give problems by my phone..

Official global rom is available for Xiaomi mi mix 2, even if it's not listed on the miui website yet.
This is the download link: http://bigota.d.miui.com/7.9.21/miui_MIMIX2Global_7.9.21_7f94ca393f_7.1.zip
This is the recovery version, fastboot version is not out yet, so there are only two ways to install it:
Method 1 (works on both locked and unlocked bootloaders):
- Download the rom on your pc
- Download and install my tool on your pc: www.xiaomitool.com/latest (read more about it here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-5/how-to/tool-xiaomitool-xiaomi-rom-changing-easy-t3627081 )
- Plug your device to your pc, launch the tool and use it until you reach the rom selection view
- Select "show advanced options", then "Official Miui rom (.zip)" and then select the file of the rom you have downloaded before
- The tool will install it automatically
Method 2 (works only on unlocked bootloaders):
- Download the rom and supersu zip on your device
- Install twrp to your device
- Install the rom file through twrp
- Patch the rom by flashing supersu
PLEASE NOTICE: if you use this method dont update your device because this will soft brick it. You need to flash manually from twrp the rom and supersu if you want to do that. This method is for those who want to try the rom, not to keep for a long term. If you want to keep the rom, use method 1 or wait for fastboot rom.
FAQs:
Q: This link is official and how did you get it?
A: It's official (just look at the download url) and I have it by emulating an ota update call
Q: Have you tried installing it on your device?
A: I have not mi mix 2 so no
Q: This may brick my device?
A: It may brick it, I have not tried yet. This is to tell you to do on your own risk, I'm not responsible
Q: Why I have to flash SuperSU?
A: Official rom are not compatible with twrp natively, your device will not boot if you don't flash supersu.
Q: What is the difference with your tool?
A: My tool uses stock recovery to flash official roms, so there is no need to unlock bootloader to install twrp, neither to flash supersu
Q: This method(s) doesn't work!
A: Ok, sorry to hear that, leave your feedback. This methods are not tested yet with mi mix 2, so there is the chance they might not work. Just leave both positive and negative feedback about it.

Works for you ? And which option did you choose .. And did you do anything before ?
Didn't work for me, see my previous post
Hi vic20nl,
So you continued but had no luck ?
Or did you abandoned the flashing ?
If you decided not to proceed, I might say that installing a custom recovery is an easy thing.
And I cannot recommend too much to install such a custom ROM as it will allow a lot of things, especially to back-up before installing a new ROM or to install a custom ROM like Mokee or EPIC ROM.
Regards.

Yeah just noticed that. Shame it's still miui 8 not miui 9.
Maybe soon for miui 9 global.
Did somebody manage to flash the developer ROM (that is what is what mentioned in first post) as that is suppose to be MIUI 9?

Yes, I did. You need to use fastboot.
Hello Guys!
First at all, thank you @franztesca for your great work on the flashing tool and bring us early the Global Dev Rom for Mi MIX 2.
I would like to ask and/or bring in this discussion here an other aspect to flash the Global Dev.
First an unlocked bootloader is requiered. I used this method at another Xiaomi, the Xiaomi Mi 5.
I am actually on the Xiaomi.eu Rom and i would like to change to the Global Dev. My bootloader is open. I flashed the Xiaomi.eu Rom with TWRP, but i dont install TWRP, i just boot into TWRP by using the commend : "fastboot boot twrp.img", just booted not flashed! After the boot i flashed the Rom via ADB Sideload an performe a Data Rest befor.
In this case i am able to keep the original Recovery, but i could also have an Custom Rom.
Now i want to change my Rom again, to your brought Global DEV.
Iam loking and asking me, how could i flash it the easyest Way, without loosing any Data and of course without any Bootloops and with regular Updates for the future.
So i think you musst Add a Variant Number 3, please correct my if iam wrong, but for me it is the easyest way with an unlocked Bootloader.
1. Download Rom and TWRP
2. Set Mi MIX 2 in Fastboot Mode
3. Boot via Fastboot iside TWRP (fastboot boot twrp.img"
4. Flash the Rom an reboot
Now you have Global Rom with offical Recovery for futher upadates!

You can't go from the China ROM to the Global ROM via the updater app. You'll have to use fastboot/Mi Flash.

So if I get it right:
- Unlock your bootloader trough a Xiaomi website and wait for an sms.
- Use fastboot to flash the global rom. (Do I need to wipe before using the Mi tool to flash?)

I didn't have to go through getting permission, my account already had it from previous Xiaomi devices. If you haven't yet, then yeah wait to get permission.
Mi Flash gives you the option to relock the bootloader upon flashing or not. There is also an option to keep data, but I would advise not doing that when switching to the Global ROM.
Also, after getting permission to unlock your bootloader, if you relock it again, you can always use the Mi Unlock tool to unlock it as much as you want since you already got permission to do so. When I had the Mi5, I can't even count how many times I unlocked/relocked the bootloader.

Hi, I'm currently running MIUI Global 9.0 Stable 9.0.3.0 (NDDMIEI) in my Mi Max 2.
I have followed the guide to install the TWRP 3.1.1 and have rooted via Magisk method and running it.
I have received the OTA update V9.2.1.0.NDDMIEK and is downloaded automatically.
I'm guessing I can't install this OTA downloaded update via TWRP? Do I have to wait for the flashable zip of this update?
Or should I unroot, flash stock recovery and then do the OTA update, and then repeat the TWRP and Magisk again?
Thank you for any help.
I have same problem. Anybody can help ? Thanks !

You can let it update, with no problem at all. After you hit the restart to apply update button, it will direct you to TWRP and you can flash the OTA update using twrp. It will not cause bootloop, or whatsoever. You will just need to hit the restart button after TWRP have flashed the OTA and it will reboot to apply update. However, you will need to flash TWRP again if you didn't change something in the terminal cuz Miui recovery will replace twrp. It's like a code to make TWRP to replace MIUI recovery permanently. ( It has a guide somewhere in this forum to teach you how to use TWRP to replace MIUI recovery permanently) Ok, so if you didn't change the code, you have to flash TWRP everytime you update via OTA. I flash TWRP again and again nearly every week after OTA cuz I'm on developer rom and developer rom nearly updates every week. So the main point is, no worries ya. You can go ahead and flash the OTA as it won't cause bootloop.

Hmm....wait. So you go to TWRP and flash the rom? I mean, you manually reboot into recovery, and then manually flash the OTA? It can't be done like that, for sure will get error. What i meant and what i always did is let the download manager downloaded the OTA package( The download manager is in the "about phone" section), then after done downloading, press reboot and it will automatically direct you to TWRP and it flashes the OTA packages automatically and will be succesful. But if your problem still persists, i have no idea what's going on. Maybe the global rom OTA packages is different from Developer's one.
As for me, the first time my phone downloaded the incremental update which was a few hundred MB in size, when I pressed update, it went to TWRP. But from there nothing happened. It just showed the home screen of the TWRP. After waiting for a few minutes, I simply rebooted using TWRP's menu.
When returned to system, the phone said the update was not successful and mentioned something about downloading full rom. When I woke up, it had completed download the full rom which is 1.43GB.
I haven't updated yet, using MIUI menu, until I want to make sure how to correctly update without problems.
I don't mind reflashing TWRP and and MAGISK again, though. Just wanted to update without getting into some sort of trouble which may prolong the process of getting back to normal working status.
Just made a TWRP backup.
Thanks for any suggestions.

you can try with this version Twrp i succesfully updated ota previously with it.

I just tried and it doesnt work but you can go into orangefox recovery browse for donloaded rom folder and manually flash it from there thats where it is stored. I had to remove the compatibility zip file also and if your decrypted flash disable encryption file.

You need to install orange fox recovery via PC, in fastboot, when you finish that you need to Move zip file of orange fox recovery and flash it via phone in orange fox recovery that you installed via pc, then you need to format data and then reboot phone, i recommend backing up the phone before all this.

Since i had the same problem: Enabling MIUI Update in OrangeFox settings is not enough. Before OTA updates via OrangeFox work, a full MIUI ROM must be flashed via OrangeFox. On my Mi 9T Pro, there even was an according note on the MIUI OTA settings page.
So i took the full 10.3.4 EEA Rom from https://bigota.d.miui.com/V10.3.4.0...EAGlobal_V10.3.4.0.PFKEUXM_964826982c_9.0.zip and dirty flashed it with OrangeFox. The OrangeFox MIUI OTA settings page now tells me "You are ready to receive updates". We'll see about that when the next OTA update arrives...

Did you prepare the orangefox recovery for OTA updates?, Because you need to do that by checking in its settings and the flash a recovery ROM so that the recovery creates an OTA_BAK folder to survive OTA

I managed to update the system that way, but when i went to enable miui update it was already enabled, but i had to download full rom(2,2gb) instead of just patch(about 400mb)

Dude, the first thing you need to do "mi flash" application on the computer by opening the Global Rom file "Clean All" or "Flash All" (options may be different depending on the program version) option to the device with fastboot mode. So you'il have a clean device and everything will be reset. Then set up TWRP with Android 9.0 and 10 support, which works flawlessly on the K20 pro and Mi 9t pro models "TWRP 3.3.1-15 Unofficial by mauronofrio". Then upload the Magisk zip file immediately when you log in to the TWRP screen. After you do this, you can install any Custom Rom file. Or you could have a Global ROM loaded with TWRP.

You can normally use miui ota from system settings , by enabling miui update from orangefox settings. Just need to re-flash magisk later.
So since a couple days ago my phone started to notify me that a new update is out (v10.3.4.0 pfkeuxm) But since i running rooted and with TWRP OTA wont work, it just trow me out to TWRP.
So i downloaded the recovery rom version and trying to flash it via TWRP, but i only get a error message that says
-E:string resource 'zip_compatible_err' not found
Using default value.
Zip treble compatibility error!
Invalid zip file format!
Error installing zip file
So now what? Can only find OTA and recovery version to download.

Why don't you use Orangefox recovery version _07 and with proper settings and preparation you could have it ready to receive OTA?

Maybe because i'm new to Xiaomi, never heard about Orangefox, proper settings or read any guide about it.

I made a guide before: https://forum.xda-developers.com/k20-pro/how-to/flashing-orangefox-recovery-mi-9t-pro-t3980579
Orangefox is basically a TWRP based but with more features I guess, the most important one being the ability to survive OTAs, for which you will have to apply in settings and then flash a recovery ROM through it so that the recovery will create an OTA_BACK folder in your internal storage, this will make sure you survive the recovery after OTA.
