I'm currently on Cm12 for my XT1095 and I was gonna lend it to my Gf til she gets something else. So far its been scattered, but is the general consensus that the official 5.1 is poo? I want her to have a good experience but a lot of recent posts have me worried that stock won't provide that as of yet? Any insight would be much appreciated.

I am using stock 5.1 and find that it's better than 5.0. My battery lasts longer than on 5.0. I have not had a single issue with 5.1.

Much appreciated! I'll just wing it. Can't get worse battery life than the nexus 5 she was using huh

+1 for stock 5.1. I'm even running super alpha Xposed framework and trying out a lot of modules without getting a single reboot or freeze.

So I just got this phone yesterday and I love it so far... My only question or concern is will it still get the updates as quick as the nexus... I noticed it was still on 4.2.2 and my Nexus tablet is on 4.3... That was my main selling point to buy the phone...

Not as quick as a Nexus. No phones or tablets get updates as quick as the Nexus line.
If that was the main selling point for you, I suggest you return it and wait for the Nexus 5.

Many people believe, since Google owns Motorola, that Motorola phone will get updates faster... Google has already stated that this is not true, they get no preferential treatment in regards to updates.
That being said, due to the limited bastardization of android on the moto x, it is fair to believe that this device has the potential to get updates quicker, whether that will play out as such, will be better known in the future.
But, the quick answer to your question is"no" this will not get updates as fast as a nexus device... Its not a nexus device. But it is understandable to believe that we will get updates more quickly than most other manufacturers devices on the market.

I will be happy if we hey an update in a reasonable amount of time... I guess that's a matter of opinion on what's a reasonable amount of time... I just traded in my HTC One XL for this phone so as long as I would get the updates faster than I did on that phone I will be happy... Also I was hoping to get support for this device for a longer period of time and keep receiving the updates... I just figured since it does not have a heavy ui like sense or touch wiz I would get updates quicker and supported longer... But I'm happy with the phone so I think I'm just going to keep it...

This is the first phone I've had that I don't want to root... I actually want the ability to get the ota updates, seems like Motorola is actively listening to consumers and pushing updates... I don't want to miss out on what they have coming. Plus, this phone is simply amazing, just the way it is.

Just curious to see how Rogers folks without a rooted phone have received the update?looks like a rooted phone won't receive any updates from Motorola, I'm rooted with a unlocked bootloader, hope I'm wrong, guess I'll have to manually update

Just curious if there's any dev going on for a solid lollipop ROM? Was over in the sensation forum and saw a few lollipop ROMs for that Beastie have been out for a bit. Any chance anyone's working on anything similar for our beloved raiders/vivids/velocities?

Currently wildfiredev is playing around with a lollipop ROM and tinkering with getting it booting on the vivid. Honestly, I'd be happily surprised if it comes to the vivid at all; this is a 4 year old phone, and it was amazing and awesome that someone took the time to get KitKat 4.4.4 working pretty much flawlessly.

Oh I totally agree. I hope I didn't come off as unappreciative at all..am running kitkat myself and love it. If not for all the hard work the devs have done this phone would have been obsolete long ago. Which in a way is sad since the hardware is still able to keep up pretty well against all but the highest end phones on the market now. I was literally just curious. I know the sensation is a similarly-equipped device, so far as hardware goes so I thought there may be a possibility someone's working on it.

Lollipop for HTC Vivid
I would also love a lollipop ROM for HTC Vivid! While searching for one I came across this:
http://www.**********.org/mp3-0/htc-vivid-4302.html
Id would like to see if anyone else can download the files . I cant download them so I am pretty sure that it doesn't work. Are there any other Lollipop ROMs for HTC Vivid yet?
Hello so it looks like germany is recieving lollipop to the 910f can any dev please try to port it over to our device?.
Why? If snapdragon version receives update in Germany, US version shouldn't be far away. Let developer use their resources for something else.

Coming from a Nexus 5 I am not all that excited about 5.0.
In my opinion you lose more than you gain. Google took a step back with lollipop.

Nexus 5 is stock android, we're gonna be getting touchwiz, including all the features.
Different from the nexus lollipop.

Uh, yeah, I know that. Just stating many people say the stock lollipop is buggy, I had no issues. I'm certain Samsung will screw it up.

This is not a topic that I've seen recently covered, but I'm really wondering why the Nexus 6 is still not seeing a OTA download of the 5.02.?

questions go into the q&a section, not into general. i requested that a mod move it there.
to answer your question, ask google, only they know. but i dont run stock, i run aosp on my nexus 6. and aosp is 5.0.2 at the moment
5.0.2 is a fix for other devices

mostly.
but also a few little things that help out the n6 as well.
I'm sure Google decided to just not bother and focus on the very soon 5.1 update

Interesting. What is the difference between stock Android on the Nexus 6 vs AOSP? Wouldn't it be minimal since Nexus 6 is essentially stock android without modifications?
How are devices like the at&t moto x 2014 getting android 5.0.2 ?

I'm pretty sure that they're planning for a major jump from 5.0.1 to 5.1 with fixes. Hope they'll be able to fix all the major and minor issues :fingers-crossed:

it is very minimal. some minor things under the hood, as aosp gets many google fixes before there's an update. plus the apps differ. like the browser. i love using the aosp browser, and despise chrome!
This is precisely why I'm wondering what the Moto X from the 5.02 version that a Nexus 6 wouldn't benefit from? Doesn't make much sense from that point of view unless this 5.1 is like weeks away if not sooner, which I have serious doubt's that's the case. Google just doesn't move major jumps that quickly.

Word is that 5.1 should be pushed any minute now. There are 5.1 build numbers for nexus 6 leaked already.
The answer is that 5.0.2 is ALL about adding device support and/or bug fixes for certain other devices besides Nexus 6. Since NONE of the 5.0.2 changes have ANY impact on Nexus 6, there is no point in pushing it to Nexus 6 at all.

I would be very ecstatic if that is the case! I have no problem seeing tradition of major release broken!
My phone is completely stock and still has not updated to marshmallow. Is there a reason? It received an update a couple days ago, but nothing really changed that I could see, still on 5.1.1. I know I could sideload OTA but I'm just wondering why it has come?
Thanks

That's my absolute best guess.
Thanks. Doesn't matter I guess anyways, I preordered the 6p anyways. I'll be selling this soon
