Flashing SYSTEM.img failing Command not allowed, why? - Huawei Ascend P7

I have bootloader unlocked
I am NOT Rooted
Flashing cust, boot and recovery work but system.img always fails as "remote: command not allowed"
I was told you dont have to be rooted to flash things with fastboot, Acassa's system was corrupted, and I downloaded the other one another person in the thread suggested that worked for others, but the same problem persists and I dont know what to do?
Your help would be much appreciated

Yes it is, I said so at the beginning of the post, sorry if I was unclear, It is definitely unlocked

most probably error with the system.img ..... this is lollipop .... we dont know wat kind of modifications huawei did under the hood .... best way is rollback to b609 and upgrade to b805 naturally

There is a file in /system named"set_immutable. list",delete it and try again.

Have you rooted your phone?If you have,you can download a "Thermanl Emulator" and try:
First,to get Root access, you should input"su" and then press Enter.Next,"cd /system" and then "chattr -R -i *".Finally,"rm set_immutable. list".

Oh,no.Before you "chattr",you should also "mount -o remount,rw /system".
You can use adb shell instead of "Thermal Emulator" as well.

Could you root your device?Since you unlocked your device, you can flash a third-party recovery and flash the SuperSU zip.

Where do I place the supersu on my phone and do I unzip it or leave it zipped?

I am not running any custom ROM, I am NOT ROOTED and when booted into recovery, I dont get any option to flash??

As This is Your First Time i Recommend TWRP ......
So First Download TWRP img from Mega Link Credits to @Araca
keep it on your desktop .....
now connect your device to Computer with USB Debugging enabled and in mtp mode
now first copy this command into notepad and edit it
fastboot flash recovery C:\Users\Username\Desktop\TWRP-2.8.7.0.img

Then Copy the super su zip file into internal sdcard ...... internal storage ....... not external not sdcard !!!!
and dont extract the zip file

when recovery it will ask about setting system as read only ..... on the bottom of screen there is a an option to swipe .... swipe it and dont check anything else ....
after that click on install and then a list will come of your internal storage ...... just swipe and go down there will be super su update package click on it and then swipe to flash ..... then reboot back to system and if it come to fix root then just swipe and your done ....... now im gonna go shower so ill be back after some time just try it and i hope it works for ya

no recovery, no download mode, no micro usb, but root?

hello dears,
i have very big problem with my c6603. i installed first lollipop hongkong version to my c6603. every function works but i want to install mods and other roms but; my phones usb port doesnt let the pc recognize as "phone". it is not driver problem ; it is hardware failure definetly. the port just charging my phone. And on the phone there is no recovery and download mode. But phone has root. i tried a few things to install custom recovery but couldnt be success. unlocked bootloader but no recovery as i said. i really appreciate if there is a solution. many thanks

Hi there.If you have root access and unlocked bootloader,you can install TWRP even without pc connection.
first you should download a terminal emulator app from google play.
then you should download the latest version of TWRP image file from here https://dl.twrp.me/yuga/.
Place it in the root of your /sdcard folder and rename it to twrp.img
Run the following commands in terminal app
Code:
su
and then we write recovery image file to FOTA with dd command.
Code:
dd if=/sdcard/twrp.img of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/FOTAKernel
and it's done.

Below are 2 solutions to get a properly working recovery
Preperation:
1. Download Dual recovery installer: XZ-lockeddualrecovery2.8.23-RELEASE.combined.zip
2. Install NDRUtils
Next up we will test if the TWRP you installed works or not
-open NDRUtils and choose to boot into TWRP recovery.
Now unhide the result that you got to continue with the installation:
OK: I am now in TWRP
flash XZ-lockeddualrecovery2.8.23-RELEASE.combined.zip and reboot.
Everything will work normally now.
Not OK: I am not in TWRP
Reboot the phone if you have to (hold power until you feel 3 vibrations and then turn the phone back on)
You need to download this: http://nut.xperia-files.com/path/XZDualRecovery/Kernel_Builder
To get the right file make sure to selec the xperia z c6603 and select the rom version you are using, you can view what you have in settings, about phone, build number.
it will be much easier for you if you install this: X-plore File Manager The reason i recommend this application is that it automatically makes sure the file rights are correct.
Go into the settings and enable superuser +mount root mode
Now you can browse to the folder where you downloaded the zip in the left pane.
go into the zip and and then into tmp
Select the boot.img
now move to the right pane and browse to the root of your SD card like the comment above
go back to the left pane and with boot.img still checked click copy.
Now follow the original instructions mrp1375 gave you, but notice the different filename
Open terminal
Type : su
Type: dd if=/sdcard/boot.img of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/FOTAKernel
Now you can reboot and if it worked the phone will vibrate twice and show a green led meaning you can press the down button to enter TWRP recovery.
Go into the recovery and now flash XZ-lockeddualrecovery2.8.23-RELEASE.combined.zip so you get a proper installation
Now remember this very important fact:
Whenever you flash or wipe anything you MUST reinstall recovery and root again.
This is a failsafe strategy you can NEVER ignore becaus of your usb issues.
Keep SuperSu installer and XZ-lockeddualrecovery installer on your device at all times!

Hey! I have the same problem as the OP here. I followed the instructions like 5 times and still couldnt get it to work. The terminal is saying that "No space left on device" when i type "dd if=/sdcard/boot.img of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/FOTAKernel"
any way to fix this? Thanks!

That error sounds like either you dont have root or you have a typo, can you make a screenshot?

i downloaded the one you said XZ-lockeddualrecovery2.8.23-RELEASE.combined.zip and renamed it to boot.img

can some one guid me about root for huawei p7 android l b853 emui 3.1 , i am new on this ..

I'd like the same thing.. I found a few guides here on xda, but don't fully understand them so i didn't try anything.. I'd appreciate if someone explained in details how do i root b853. I did a few roots before using some apps, all of them said it's rooted, tho it wasn't . So if someone succesfully rooted b853, please tell us how.

- Connect P7 with PC
- Open Minimal ADB and Fastboot on PC, now you have open the Command Window
- Download TWRP Recovery---> http://androiding.how/huawei-ascend-p7-gets-twrp-2-8-7-0-recovery-compatible-android-5-1-1-builds/
- Copy the TWRP-2.8.7.0.img to the Minimal ADB and Fastboot-Folder
- Type in Command Window---> adb reboot bootloader ---> P7 reboot now in Bootloader-Mode
- After Reboot Type in Command Window---> Fastboot flash recovery twrp-2.8.7.0.img
- Now type fastboot reboot
- Download SuperSU ---> https://download.chainfire.eu/751/SuperSU/
- Copy the Supersu.zip to P7
- Now type in Command Window---> ADB reboot recovery
- In TWRP-Recovery flash the Supersu.zip on P7--->Reboot
- Now you must delete the SetImmutable.list from System on P7!

Well, just tried it.. When i used the adb reboot bootloader command, the phone turned off and the screen where it says "Phone is locked" poped out. I freaked out, plugged the phone out, and restarted it . Is that supposed to happen?

I'm still not able to delete this file as it's protected. I would assume SU would ask me to confirm the rights to allow the filemanager to do it but it doesn't.
Any ideas?

Found the right post:
Here are instructions for installing VIPER4Android on P7
1) have your phone ROOTED
2) install BUSYBOX from PLAYSTORE
3) install terminal emulator from PLAYSTORE
4)open Terminal Emulator and type in the following commands exactly:
su
mount -o rw,remount /system
cd system
lsattr
chattr -R -i *
rm –f /system/set_immutable.list
lsattr
After this set_immutable.list should be removed and you should have full access. Now you can install VIPER4Android

Or you can just go to the huawei website and request the unlock code You'll have to create an account though.

now I ve tried it again and now it works, maybe I did something wrong... - now it work and root seems complete
Really thanks to all of XDA developers i had 2 day unrooted phone and it was terrible

- Download TWRP Recovery---> http://androiding.how/huawei-ascend-p7-gets-twrp-2-8-7-0-recovery-compatible-android-5-1-1-builds/
- Copy the TWRP-2.8.7.0.img to the Minimal ADB and Fastboot-Folder
- Type in Command Window---> adb reboot bootloader ---> P7 reboot now in Bootloader-Mode
- After Reboot Type in Command Window---> Fastboot flash recovery twrp-2.8.7.0.img
- Now type fastboot reboot
- Download SuperSU ---> https://download.chainfire.eu/751/SuperSU/
- Copy the Supersu.zip to P7
- Now type in Command Window---> ADB reboot recovery
- In TWRP-Recovery flash the Supersu.zip on P7--->Reboot
- Now you must delete the SetImmutable.list from System on P7!
- Install X-Plore File Manager from PlayStore and delete the setimmutable.list in /ROOT/SYSTEM/
- Now you have Full ROOT!!!
- For make your ext. SD-Card writable use this---> NextApp SDFix

[GUIDE]Stuck on Fastboot screen?? This guide can help you..

Hai guys...
This is a problem that i have encountered myself whrn using the phone Xiaomi Redmi Note 4g. I was trying to update my system using inbuilt system updater.. Don't know how but it suddenly finished installing and promted me to reboot.But after reboot i got stuck on the Fastboot screen..
I couldn't access my recovery options as well i had twrp already installed..
Since then i surfed the net and also XDA to find a solution to this..
Referring a lot of threads a found a way and made it work and i would like to share it with you..

So first read my guide carefully if u are a noobie and wish to learn it step by step..
So first u need a pc..
Install abd drivers on pc,(i will provide all the download link later)
Now i shall say if this happens to u probably your whole Rom must be gone with ur internal data.So i suggest u use a new rom instead.Since i have tried a lot of roms in this section the one which looked good without any errors is the CM14 Rom..
So download it..If you are stuck in fastboot screen u cannot copy it yet onto your phone.
So now u got to download the latest version of TWRP into the folder where the ADB is installed...i.e inside the folder
Its default on Windows pc is
Code:
C:\\Program Files\Minimal Adb and Fastboot
Ok if u have copied the twrp file into the adb folder u have to rename it as just "twrp" for ur convenience (ignore ")
Then open a command prompt there by pressing SHIFT and Right mouse button
Plug your phone into pc and just switch it on (since you have the problem you don't need to manually go to fastboot ..it will directly goto the fastboot)
Otherwise press the power button and the volume down button together for the fastboot screen
Just type
Code:
fastboot devices
After executing you can see a device if have connected.. If this happens we can carry on
Then type
Code:
fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
After this twrp will install on ur phone..
Now this
Code:
fastboot boot twrp.img
This will take the phone directly to the TWRP
There first u need to click on wipe >>advanced wipe>>select everything except your external sd (if u have one)>> Swipe
After it is complete copy the rom files to the internal storage of the device(Now it will be connected to the pc)
After completely copying Click on Install>> select the rom from the internal >> swipe
Then wait for the rom to flash..
After flashing wipe the davlik cache..
Also flash Gapps.. if u want root u can also flash supersu as well
Now reboot the phone ..n ..enjoy

Is there an alternative recovery in that device. Can give attach images because i don't have this device right now so I can't help you without seeing what's on the device

Sir in my case I unlocked the bootloader and installed ressurection remix v7 using RedWolf recovery but the system did not boot up instead it kept on booting into fastboot mode. I thought of installing some other rom via rw recovery but I was unable to access the internal storage or external_sd via rw recovery.I even tried twrp recovery but my phone was not being detected in my pc..I want to know why...Why I was not able to use MTP to transfer files to my phone... Luckily I had an escape route feom my demise and it was the Mi Flash tool...I locked my bootloader again and now I am too scared to mess with anything on my phone....

Steps To Unlock Bootloader
1. At First, open About phone on setting menu , then tap 4 times on Build Number. Now Developer Mode is enabled.
2. Open developer Mode menu and set oem unlock and usb debugging to ON. [Important Step]
3. Download and Extract the zip file which you have downloaded from the link given below.
4. Now enter into fastboot mode :
Press volume + power button and then phone will boot into fastboot interface.
5. Now connect the phone to computer and then open a command prompt window on the desktop (Shift + Right Click -> Open Command Window here)
Now type:

The list of devices connected will be displayed.
Then enter the command :

fastboot oem unlock
6. Now you will see a Unlock Bootloader Warning page. Hit the Vol button to select Yes and turn it Blue and Hit Power Button to confirm the selection.

Steps To Disable Forced Encryption i.e, Decrypt Data
1. At first time when you open twrp, it will ask you to allow system modification.
2. Allow it and then flash the no-verity-opt-encrypt.zip file .
3. Then Go to Wipe-->Format Data.
4. Type Yes to confirm wiping of Internal Storage.
5. Now you have decrypted the data sucessfully.
Note: Dont try to restore the nanodroid backup which you have taken before. It may end in bootloop.
Steps To Root Your Phone
1. Download the SuperSu SR1 flashable zip from here and copy that zip file into internal storage.
2. Now Enter into the TWRP Recovery.
3. Now navigate to the downloaded SuperSu Zip file and Swipe to install SuperSu.
4. Reboot your device.
5. Now your device is rooted successfully. :fingers-crossed:
Steps To Backup IMEI [Important]:
For some cases you may lead to lose your device's Imei. It will lead to loose of network signals etc.
So we have to take backup of Imei and we can restore it on any such case.
There are two method to backup imei.
Method 1 :
Boot the phone to Twrp , take Backup of EFS partition to internal storage and copy the backup files to PC . In case , if you have lost your IMEI, this backup will help you to restore imei back.
Method 2 :
1. This method works on the Terminal window. So download any Terminal App .
2. Open the app and type su , then grant SuperUser permission when you are prompted to do so.
When you see the Terminal Emulator box, type the following command:

dd if=/dev/block/sdf1 of=/sdcard/modemst2.bin bs=512
Please note that all commands are case sensitive and even a minor mistake will hider the successful backup. Type the command line carefully.
Now you have successfully took backup of imei to you internal storage . Copy that to your pc .
To Restore
Enter the following commands in Terminal Emulator Box:

Erm, "Chinese dev" doesn't mean anything really. Don't you have a thread link, a github link, or anything in particular? It's almost like saying "Here an app", without really saying where it comes from. Kinda risky... Especially if it isn't the "Chinese dev" that shares it.

It works. Just flashed Magisk 13 beta using TWRP provided by OP.
SafetyNet passes with Magisk Hide. Cheers!

I'm in the same boat, I like that it's done but the fact it isn't open-sourced and is provided by a sketchy Chinese version of a fake Oneplus site (take a look at the lack of SSL for example), I think I may hold off..

How did you make this work? Tried flashing in fastboot using
fastboot flash recovery twrp.....
However, doesn't work, still on OP recovery

Flashed it too after reading your post. Working flawless.

The China TWRP only work first time. After reboot again i see the stock recovery.

Maybe you need to delete recovery-from-boot.p from your system folder, and the twrp will be permanently

If I had OnePlus 5 I would have resolved the problem inside the twrp, but no device is impossible for me. A complete recovery will soon be released.
The recovery-from-boot.p is the file that restore stock recovery when you reboot your phone (It is in all android firmware)

did you restore your backup, after reboot . If yes, just uncheck boot when you restore and you dont need to format anything when flash recovery or kernel because these thing boot before system . For me twrp work good for me, the only thing is that i have flash supersu and when i want to switch to magisk, i delete all root on supersu app, and then impossible to boot on twrp, even after flash it with bootloader . The trick is to flash stock recovery from folder and then flash twrp .

1) connect phone to pc

4( "adb pull /system" then "adb pull /vendor"

i am getting this error on entering < adb pull /system
adb: error: failed to copy '/system/build.prop' to '.\system\build.prop': open failed: Permission denied
As far as i know there is no root or twrp for this device.
