Hello all,
I am trying to find the testing menu on the T-Mobile Galaxy S6. My AT&T S6 has the menu available to access by entering the code *#*#4636#*#*. Does anybody know of a similar code to find the same menu on the TMO variant?
Thanks for reading!

Thanks, but *#0011# does not bring up a menu. It does display useful info, but I need *#4636*#*# which does not seem to work on the TMO variant. It does work on AT&T, but I need info from the TMO network
Ok so service mode is the one you need. *#2263#

Another useful menu, but still not what I am looking for
The menu I am looking for is the Testing menu. It has these options on the ATT model:
Device Information
Battery Information
Usage Statistics
WiFi Information.
Under Device Info, it gives a button labeled "RUN PING TEST". This is what I am trying to find in the TMO model. I'm trying to incorporate this into a document that I am writing.
As I compare the two side by side, I notice they both shipped with Android 5.0.2, but the baseband versions are different:
ATT - G920AUCU2AOF3
TMO - G920TUVU1AOCG
I'm guessing the different baseband versions are the reason my menu options are different ??
Does anyone happen to know of any work-around, or do I have to accept that it is not available?
Each carrier can use their own codes. It is possible the menu you need is not available. I think there is a full service menu. This might be what you need. The one you enter when you want to unlock some phones.

I know this is old but what you are looking for is *#0011# once there click more in upper right corner WiFi option at bottom of menu

But for whatever reason its not an option on this phone. Seems like att didn't want us turning their 4g off....

Yeah if I remember right the O3D roms had the option to use just edge in the network settings. Good ol' AT&T
The code works i'm on edge

Worked fine for me.I was able to switch to edge.

What did you change to switch to use only EDGE? When I put in that code, I get a testing menu and I don't see any options to change it to 3/4G or EDGE.
This is the only complaint I have about this phone. I'm in an area just outside 3G so my phone is up and down constantly trying to pick it up and just staying on EDGE would fix that issue.

GSM .
it save battery
There's no GSM listed as an option using the code listed above unless you have a different version than I do.

I have the same issue. Using the stock Thrill ROM. I get the same test menu but do not see any option for forcing EDGE.
Any suggestions?
I just got back from the AT&T store in my area to ask about getting the micro cell tower for free (I hope). I asked the salesperson there about having any ideas to just using the EDGE network. His response was "AT&T is slowly getting rid of the EDGE network." When I asked about LTE rolling out for the Pennsylvania and Philadelphia areas (This will matter to us who resides in these areas) He told me "By Summer or Fall of 2012 it should be rolled out."
If anyone living in a bad cell range who has AT&T try and get the micro cell for free. It's 200 bucks out right and I have only heard mixed reviews about it.
I now must continue my regrets of jumping on AT&T.

Hi,
Got my XZ in white earlier today, it's a beauty, easily the best looking Android phone over ever used! Battery seems to go quickly, but I have used it a lot lol! Back gets pretty warm when using it alot, getting worried.
But reason for this post is I can't find the LTE settings on my phone, on the demo one I used in three, its under mobile networks, network mode. Mine shows GSM and WCDMA no LTE, the demo one I used in three had LTE as a third option.
Can anyone else confirm this with theirs, both three and non three handsets.
Will the LTE option come after three launch LTE to prevent users accidentally selecting it maybe?
Thanks

So it appears that the phone does support LTE after checking the band's in the service menu, LTE is listed, panic over!

Mine also doesn't have the lte option on three rom. I presume they will push an update out and hype how they've 'unlocked its potential' or some other silly hype.
Mine doesnt show it either on 3. Anyone spoke to them yet?

Cheers all! It looks like they will push an update at some point, anyone know how to check if we are receiving UltraFast Internet? DC-HSDPA?
I'm on three but got a sim free phone, with my three sim I don't have a LTE option however put in my EE sim and I get the LTE option. Must be a setting thing that the network needs to push out.

So when three launch LTE we will receive new Sims then.

Possibly or the existing SIM cards will be provisioned for LTE and just work. A simple OTA update (via SMS) can adjust settings on a SIM card.
I really hope the existing cards will work as I have some PAYG cards and don't want to mess around changing them.

Don't press the call button, as long as you have inputted the code correctly after the last * it should take you into the services menu.
3 have just said this year, hopefully it will be asap, but their Ultra-fast internet (DC-HSDPA) is out now in nearly 80% of the UK which gives us nearly similar speeds to EE's LTE. Do a coverage check on their network to see if you are in the Ultrafast area.

Thanks for your response sir. Yes we do have LTE here and im using etisalat, but when i navigate to network settings it does not show an LTE or 4g option. Im thinking because ive bought this d955 which is europe model unlike some other folks here using the d958.but while comparing the LTE bands its almost the same with mine . I dont know exactly how to check it..

Due to the fact that you bought EU version there is possibility that 4G mode will be disabled by software. On other models it's possible to unlock it by editig build.prop file or you can try to change mode by using *#*#4636#*#* (I'm not sure if it works on this model) code and then choose LTE/WCDMA/GSM auto mode.
There were no LTE option there its just wifi option .battery, phone status and statistics only..i hope it would be possible..thanks for the tips btw.

Go to Phone Status and then you will find preffered network mode...
It's not the best solution because each restart require enabling 4G mode from beggining but it's better then nothing

You Should have correct APN settings from your provider to get LTE and you should be in LTE coverage area.
You should Select Bands According to your network provider. Or on auto mode..
Use 5457#*955# code to get hidden menu

Also send me ur stock Build.prop and featureset.XML file to read settings.
I type the 8845#*955# at the phone dialer and it givesme coection problem or invalid mmi. Is the build prop on abkut phones because i have build number jdq39b?
3845#*955#
Check for numbers again. Your are using wrong code
Sorry i am typing 3845#*955# then talk and it says mmi is wrong when i dial that code
Is there somewhere to find the latest USA basebands?
Flash with the US firmware?
Or maybe someone else can help with this - there is a "hidden menu" that allows you to choose which frequencies you want to optimise for:

I'm really looking to help resolve the signal issues on this device. Commonly noted on the forums and stuff is that this device doesn't hold onto a signal nearly as good as other phones

First. yep I'm trying to learn what I am doing lol I have only messed with a HTC Sensation a couple years ago. Now with A AT&T Flex D950, from what I read is the Flex1. mine is Ver 4.4.2, Kernel 3.4.0, Build KOT49I.D95020g.. What I have done is fire AT&T, unlocked sim, went back to T-Mobile, and rooted.. I have no LTE but all else seems to be fine.
I started looking in to fixing the LTE issue, de-bloat, see if I can get the other T-Mo functions to work like WIFI calling and so forth, maybe do more. Needs to be good for my daily device.
The more I have read, the more I am confusing myself about what I can get away with. Like what works across flex models, radio drivers that work with what I need and so forth. Need some advice/help to get me on the right track. I would like to stick with my flex so any help would be greatly appreciated..
Please keep in mind I am learning as I go here
You should do some research on what LTE bands in your area that T-Mobile supports. Maybe the at&t model/radio doesn't support those bands.
What Sim unlock method did you [email protected]_XV6700 has some experience with cross Dll and radios. I would point you to his thread..... But its been deleted
Thanks for the post!
I unlocked with the code number. I will look in to dll and radio mods by trying to PM.
I could be wrong but I'm thinking LTE is another problem, unless T-Mobile is not using a band we have in common in Calif. I travel a lot and have not seen LTE anywhere to include Bay Area, So Cal, and the central valley. I could be wrong about that tho. Maybe I'll get lucky and find out about a radio mod that helps. My Samsung's have LTE band options, and this Flex has no such options to be found..

D950 also has LTE band options through the secret menu.

I use the "Network" app from the playstore to switch bands. The reason I asked is because I unlocked my sprint branded g flex to use with cricket, and the sprint radio does not have the LTE bands for at&t/cricket. But H+ works just as well in my are as LTE.
Here is the supported model bands, but not sure of usable bands in your area:

That's not working on mine, well it works just shows nul.. I went into build.prop file last night, changed att to open. I now have LTE with 39mbps down speed ? thinking I need to go back in that file and change any "att" to open or tmo? Was also wondering if I change model # to tmo flex # would that open up stuff on network like wifi calling?? Make a nandroid backup, backup your EFS partition. Save it on your computer, and you can save your phone from most bricks. There is a couple of band mods on the g flex 2 section of XDA that use "shortcut master" from the play store, check it out.

There's a thread in the AT&T G2 section where a T-Mobile rom was ported to the AT&T variant:http://forum.xda-developers.com/att-g2/development/rom-t-mobile-4-4-2-stock-d80120e-wi-fi-t2819587
I only have satellite Internet service, so I haven't downloaded it to try and dig through to figure out how he did it.
Looking at porting guides, it looks easy except that the WiFi calling is in the Framework folder, or so they say. Maybe someone here who knows what they're doing would be willing to embark on this journey for those of us who could use it.
