Hey guys,
I'm thinking about it to buy a chromecast, but I've some questions here, whose answers I didn't find!
Am I able to stream videos on my tv?
I'm currently using an app called Vget to stream any videos from websites to watch movies with MX Player.
Is there any method, to stream videos from websites like movie4k, burningseries, anime tubes , etc. through my phone on my TV?
Just noticed that there are many ways to do this , but I don't really get them! Also noticed it's possible with my laptop, but I really prefer it to do it either with my phone or my tablet!
Would appreciate if someone would clarify me!
Thanks in advance
If those web pages have their own in-bluilt movie player then you will be able to reproduce those videos on chromecast by tapping the chromecast icon on the movie player. (Only if you are using chrome on android or windows).
If those web pages make you choose your own video player you will have to install the app "web video caster" and choose it as the movie player.
Also you can install the app "chromecast" and choose its screen mirroing option to reproduce whatever your phone/tablet is doing (movies, games,fb,pics, music, etc). You should know that screen mirroing demands a stronger internet connection (more mgbytes) and more stability. Also the very 4 or 5 times you try to do screen mirroing it will end the mirroing or disappear the sound but not the video. Its normal.
Pd: the "chromecast icon" i told you to tap on the in-biult video player you will only see it when you have a chromecast connected to tv and finished its software setup (easy to do). So dont worry if you dont see that chromecast icon yet because you dont have a chromecast yet
@Bruno_Tec Thank you very much! So the easiest way to stream movies on my TV would be with the app "web video caster"?

All the ways are easy so dont worry. The method that demands less internet is web video caster app
vGet already supports streaming to Chromecast AFAIK.

As long as you have adblock and a flash browser, you can mirror and stream live sports games too

Wondering what kind of remote desktop everyone is using. Which is relatively lag-free and real-time? Can you watch videos on it? Does it have audio?

I'm using the LogMeIn Beta. I have no clue why this is still beta as it is every good as the iPhone version. Needless to say I will be buying it once it goes live.
As for watching videos, I've never seen any RDP good enough to watch a video off of. Could you? I guess but the better question is, why would you want to?
Yes it has audio.
I'm using remote Remote RDP
audio plays flawlessly over wireless and pretty good over 3g... (but its REALLY low bitrate)
as for videos... i haven't seen any app that can render fast enough
wait i have :| its Window's built in RDP in win7 over a gigabit connection >.<
Xtralogic is what I'm using. It's full featured and works very well. I would reccomend it highly.

It's fast enough to watch videos on? How about audio?
If you're trying to watch videos on your phone, you'd probably be better off with something like Orb that handles video streaming and does on-the-fly transcoding.
Phonemypc is pretty much real-time if you're on a good wireless connection but it doesn't have audio.
+1 for Xtralogic Remote desktop. I use it quite a lot for work, and it works pretty well

There are no remote desktop apps that can do video. You can't even do this in a lan environment, let alone over the net.
Audio works fine with the Xtralogic client.
RDP isn't really built to stream video or provide a fast refresh rate.
If you want to watch movies either sync them with your PC or stream them with a slingbox.
i used logmein...

logmein ignition still works great for me
I have streamed video with Phonemypc and it's flawless. There is no audio and for some unknown reason you can't see the mouse movement to click on files and folders lol. Been using various platforms of vnc for years and all of them are very slow in the bitrate department. Gonna try Xtralogic.

Guys, I don't know if you knew this already but this is really cool. I saw one of my friend using iTouch and wondered if I can have that feature too. Luckily, it did. Putting lyrics on the song and you can view it also while playing the song via stock music application.
Tried it on Samsung units and epic fail. Great feature LG! ) Haha.

i can help you if you dont mind using realplayer
download latest version of realplayer and :
Let it scan all songs and then search the song you want to add lyrics to.
right click on it and you will find some option like edit song information ( i haven't used it from a long time so i dont remember it ).
when you get a small window to edit songs artist, album, title n all so look at the right there will be cloumn named lyrics....paste your lyrics in it and save....move it to ur OB and enjoy
can be dont on itunes too....just go to edit songs info....in the small window you will see some tabs like artwork, lyrics and all....simply open the tab and paste the lyrics and save......n ur done
i've added the lyrics through itunes but it won't show up when played on the phone.
There are many videos and method to getting flash player on your Nexus 7 tablet... but the easiest way I've gotten mine to work was threw this method here... I've tried the dolphin browser 8.5.1 method, and i didn't want to use the stock galaxy nexus browser as it required me to root and for me to tamper around with system files, for which with an error on my be halve will cause me serious problems... the XScope Pro browser worked great for me.. and here's to hoping it will do the same for you! 8)

Got Flash installed through side loaded apk, runs great through Firefox. Most streaming media will play video but no audio. Has anyone noticed better results through different browsers?

"Google's $35 Chromecast fared well in our review, but something that could make it even more useful is the ability to stream pictures and video from mobile devices. Users have been able to work around that on PCs by entering info for locally stored files into the Chrome address bar, and now ClockworkMod developer Koushik Dutta is showing off a solution for mobile that closes the gap with AirPlay. Demonstrated in the video after the break, his Phone to Chromecast app can fling pictures or videos stored on the phone directly to the dongle -- apparently thanks to web server software he'd already created for Android. There's no specific word on the codecs or resolutions tested, but he reports videos work at full framerate "like magic." The only bad news? The preview SDK terms mean he can't distribute the APK without written permission from Google, so this demo is as close as we're getting for now."

Sorry, YouTube tag wasn't working.
Let's just hope either Google agrees to push it through! Sounds awesome though.

could only take month
Do you guys think Google will actually approve it though?
Could this be integrated as a general 'share' feature with other apps like gallery, quickpic, etc?

My fear is that if they don't approve it, and it gets released anyway, Google will take steps to block it to appease content providers like HBO, Vudu, or whoever else they're trying to get onboard.
Outstanding........
hope google will approve this
So this would be similar to Samsung's AllCast? I know allcast uses DLNA while this uses a webserver, but functionally it would offer the same ability.
It seems with this method it could be easier to connect with and cast networked shares.

what's the name of the video? I can try it here once my Z1 arrives.
It may not play back properly because the resolution is actually a bit over 4k and that could cause these defects. Who knows?

Okay, I've tried the video on my new X1 with both stock player and mx player...I have the same results as you! On my laptop it plays fine.
I guess since the resolution is a bit over 4k, the phone can still play it but messes up the colors during playback because the resolution is not supported. Or something like this.
