I know some of the G4 variants are losing exFAT format capability on their SD card after rooting. It seems the LS991 does not have that problem - at least I had no issues with exFAT formatting after rooting. However, Titanium Backup would not write to the SD card. I had to run SDFix. The latest version of SDFix is for kitkat, but it worked on my phone (rooted, ZV5).
I've used this one
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.devasque.fmount&hl=en
only need to run it once, then after reboot you can uninstall it
I just successfully rooted my H815T, and it looks like exfat support is broken now.
I ran SDFIX and it didn't fix it.
*edit* I'll probably just format it to EXT2 or something

SDFix will not fix the exFAT formatting issue that many 815 variants are experiencing - I noted in the OP that I did not have formatting issues. SDFix modifies the permissions to write to the external SD card - in this case allowing Titanium Backup to write to the SD card.
exFAT working fine here on the H811 variant (T-Mobile USA) with root.

[Solved]Okay, I currently have a 2gb (don't even know the brand) MicroSD in my rooted Dream/G1. I am running SuperD 1.10.2. I have Apps2SD setup already. I just bought a PNY 4gb Class 4 MicroSD yesterday and I want to use it. How do i transfer EVERYTHING to it? And will I have to re-install all the apps that were installed on the 2gb card?
Thanks, xKr4zex

The possibilities.....
You could do it the hard way or the easy way.
Hard way is by using adb and do
command prompt
adb pull /system/sd /sdbackup/sd
and partition your new card using amon_ra recovery
then
command prompt
adb shell
mount -a
exit
cd c:\sdbackup
adb push sd /system/sd
and that should do it.
Easy way
Make a nandroid backup with ext,
save the contents of you sdcard (especially nandroid folder)
partition your new sdcard with amon_ra recovery with your desired ext partition,
restore your backups from your old card,
place new card in phone,
nandroid restore and reboot.
You should be good.
Thanks for the reply. I also wanted to know, if I already have apps2sd and Linux swap enabled, do I have to disable>power off>new card>restore>re enable apps2sd and Linux?

You shouldn't have to re-do anything once your partitions are in place.
If your card is setup like FAT/SWAP/EXT3 (using EXT3 for example) for card 1 then as long as your partitions are FAT/SWAP/EXT3 for card 2 then everything should work just fine. Even if your swap partition is a different size it should be alright. The only thing is that if card 1 (old card) EXT3 partition is 500mb and if you are using 300mb of that card you need to have 300mb+ on card 2 EXT3 partition so that all of your data can fit on there after you do your nandroid restore.
I did this method personally when I went from a 8gb to a 16gb.
Old card was 8gb composed of ~7gb (FAT)/64mb (swap)/500mb (ext3)
New card is 16gb composed of ~13gb (FAT)/96mb (swap)/1gb (ext3)
I simply performed a nandroid+ext backup
Backed up my entire sdcard onto my desktop (including nandroid directory)
Put the new card in and repartitioned with Amon_RA recovery as posted above.
Restored the data from my backup that was on my desktop
Performed a nandroid+ext restore
Done. Very easy.
Just do it. You'll be amazed how complicated your making this.
I just did this this morning before seeing this thread and i did exactly as it says here. I only encountered one problem...My Music playlists didnt transfer how do i get those? I still have my old sd card with all the stuff in it by the way.
Thanks! Solved.

I think there are third party apps that will do that. I'm not sure what file that is exactly.
I use a Class 6 8GB AData microSD Card, and used it for around a year in my Blackberry Bold 9700 with no problems.
When I purchased my N1, I quickly rooted it and installed CM 5.0.0.53 with a 512MB ext4 partition for my Apps. It worked fine for around 2 weeks, and one day I woke up to a message saying SD Card Corrupted, please format your card. I could still access the card via mounting it to Windows, and was able to back it up (and the ext partition worked fine) but nothing I could do save for formatting the card completely and restoring a nandroid would save the FAT32 partition.
I decided to format again using ext3 this time and install CM 5.0.6, both of which I heard were more reliable. Again, a month later, I have a corrupted FAT32 partition (only on the device, not through mounting) and cannot access any of my data on the device itself.
Is this my activity, or could it be something else? I am at a loss to explain it, since the card seems to be fine in Windows. Is this a CM problem?
Thanks in advance for any insight you may be able to share.

I'm facing bootloop when i'm trying to create two partitions on SD Card (Sandisk 32gb class 10).I tried same thing on Xperia L & ZR (both stock rom / kernel, rooted, stock recovery), but i'm facing bootloop on both of them.
Created two partitions with minitool partition wizard- 1) FAT 32, PRIMARY, 27gb (2) ext2, primary, 2gb
After creating two partitions, inserted sd card, installed link2sd, asked for root permission, granted it, chose ext2, reboot and then it goes into bootloop.
i have to delete both partitions and re formart it to avoid bootloop.
also can i choose partition type again in link2sd, if i recreate partitions?
i think once the mount script has been created initially on 1st run of link2sd, it will detect ext2 as secondary partition from now on.
Pls help how to make link2sd functional w/o bootloop.

But for link2sd you can try to reboot fix before apply and detectthe 2nd partition

here you are
it supposed to stop bootloop you need to use it before installing scripts that makes phone goes into bootloop try it i hope it will work with you
Good Luck
i didn't know about this script earlier. so i partitioned sd card as fat32 and ext2 inserted card and installed link2sd, reboot and then goes into bootloop.the only way to avoid bootloop is to format card and insert it.
Now i have installed reboot-remount fix and it restarted phone successfully. But still link2sd is not working. Now it's saying "Mount Script cannot be created.Invalid argument". I have tried both ext2 and ext3.There is no bootloop with ext3, but if i format it as ext2, it goes into bootloop agian (even after installing reboot fix).

Don't use Link2SD with Xperia.
Instead use folder mount.
If you do anything wrong in L2SD you may get into deep trouble. Also it requires emulated support which is possible only in Samsung phones.
With Android 4.4.x update and above Apps to SD has been disabled!
Hey guys!
As you may know, the XSP has slooow internal memory. So I devised to install system on SD Cards.
Is there any chance to install Lollipop on SD Card?

Actually it could be possible by tweaking the kernel to mount the SD card partitions to /system, /data, /cache etc., but I'm not sure.
Thanks Tomoms
Year ago i saw universal method (without kernel support).
so can we have this thng working plz
I have a rooted Fire Tablet 5th generation 5.0.1, i used the one click script and it worked like a charm. I've used Link2sd (the free version), created the 2nd partition, and moved everything I can, but it hasn't changed the amount of free space on the device, for that matter it doesn't seem to have increased the amount of space on my external sd card either, so I'm still getting out of space warning/messages. When I look at the list of programs in link2sd almost all of the programs I've added say: on sdcard, linked->sd card. I had rooted with an earlier method (not one click using twrp) and had started using link2sd then without a 2nd partition. After I used the one click script and created the 2nd partition, it's recognizing it but when I try to move something to sd card in link2sd it looks like it's sending it but it just hangs and never completes. My sd card has 11 gigs free in one partition and 2 in the other, my internal storage is down to 256mb or so. I used the debloat version of the script and have about 12 apps I've added either prior to or after the script.
Any help or direction would be appreciated.
Did you enable the links in Link2SD? You have to do this as it won't enable itself.
I have been using it and it works fine. I only have the free version currently.

Ok, this is gonna sound like a dumb question: Is it possible I set it up wrong? when I look at storage info in link2sd it shows:
internal 11% free
Sd Card 11% free
External SD 93% free
SD Card 2nd Part. 78% free
could I have setup the internal sd card (item 2 in list above) rather than the external SD (item 3)? If it's even possible to do that how can I tell? I can It be fixed or would I have to start all over?
Thanks
I just realised that I am using FolderMount, Thought it was Link2SD.
Sorry.

No worries, btw, I have been "enabling links" or "linking to SD" for everything I just haven't seen a decrease in the storage consumption on the fire's internal storage. I'm not familiar enough with the file system to be able to tell what is on the device and what is on the external sd card. When I ran the script I did choose the "de-bloat" version so I'd expected to see space free up.
Is there a decrease in free space on your SD Card?
Not as much as I would have thought but I haven't been able to add any programs or games of any size as I keep getting the out of storage message when trying to download from an appstore.
By far the biggest space consumer on internal storage is TWRP which I used to root. I'm still on 5.0.1 and my understanding is if I deleted it and ever updated to 5.1.1, at least currently, that TWRP would not work any longer. Not that I'm using it.
I've installed Link2sd but having few problems.
Just as I got everything running smooth and apps on the sd card i've started to get ' Sd card unexpectedly removed' errors which means I have to reboot each time.
Never had the error before so i'm not sure if it's link2sd causing it, or just a coincidence and that my sd card is actually failing. Tried removing the card, cleaning contacts etc.
link2sd working?
Hi,
How did you get link2sd to work?
I'm trying to get link2sd working on a Amazon fire 7 5th gen.
When I try to get the app to link to the second partition I get 'Mount script error. Mount script cannot be created. Mount no such device." I thought it was because bootloader was locked down but if you guys have link2sd working maybe I'm wrong.
I've rooted the tablet using Rootjunky's video which works well.
The os is 5.1.1

When I tried this it said my device wasn't compatible. Looking for a tutorial.
UPDATE: Found a APP2SD (All in one) which did work perfectly.
