I want to upgrade my Camera.I bought the camera last version for the M7, 13P1BS402. Both phones are supposed to use the same, but not working. any suggestions?
Didn't work for me either. Old m7 camera with purple tint did work. Strange! I tried different roms and firmware but nothing
It's a hw issue. There is no software solution for this.

Hi All,
I was wondering if anyone else expect similar or same issue as I do.
I recently updated to 4.3 soft No: 3.62.401.1
Today I was in need of using the front facing camera and when i switched from main camera ( which works perfectly fine) the front camera shows purple'ish lines from top to bottom in horizontal view, they are all over the screen and I can just about make out some shapes behind them.
Front camera functions work and I did test the camera when i got the phone and it was working perfectly fine as well.
I havent drop the phone nor hit it with anything, there are no viable marks on the front camera as well.
I wonder if this is due to software or not ?
Anyone could shed some light on this issue ?
Many Thanks
Kind Regards
I don't have that issue, but I swear since updating to 4.3 the Front facing camera has ****tier resolution or something, waaay more noise going on even in the brightest light - whereas before it was crisp and sharp. Hangouts video calls now look like **** too..
tnx mate
well I'm now thinking if I should get my phone replaced, I got extended warranty on it with insurance so I could get it fixed/replaced in no time.
Still wondering if this not a software issue or not.
I forgot to mention that I have a carrier free version with sim unlocked in factory.
I really think they messed up the FFC by trying to "software fix" their purple tint issue on the back cam
Something they did to the way the software runs the cameras screwed up the clarity and created new issues. That's my guess
I have the AT&T HTC One which I fully converted to the Google Play Edition. It is currently running stock 4.4.2. I don't remember noticing this problem prior to updating to 4.4, but there are purple clouds/streaks that show up in pictures I take with the stock camera app. They show up more in darker pictures, but they are still there in brightly lit pictures, you just can't really see them. Please see the attachments for examples.
I tried wiping the lens off and then cleaning it, but it seems to be a software or hardware problem. I am planning on flashing the AT&T RUU when I get a chance to see if that helps, just really hoping it's not a hardware problem that I have to send back. I flashed ViperOne Rom on it with the same problem (didn't change firmware though). I also refreshed the GPE RUU and the problem persisted. Has anyone else had this problem? I looked around and didn't see this problem referenced anywhere.
Ghosts.
Doesn't look good!
I had the same problem out of the box.
It's an internal camera hardware fault, you should ask for a swap
Exactly. Mine were the same, replacement helps
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app
i think its a hardware problem
Hello,
So lately when taking pictures in low light conditions I've been noticing purple spots in the right top corner of my pictures.
I did some research and I found a problem with a purple haze but I think this is a different problem.
Here is an example of what I mean:
Picture 1:

Picture 2:

As you can see it doesn't matter when or how I take my picture the spots seem to be in the same place.
I have the international version and i'm running Viper One 6.2.1 android version 4.4.2.
Does anyone know what this is and if there is a way to fix it?
Thanks on advanced!
No FIX.
I had same issue with the phone (at&t version). since i was under warranty, at&t replaced me with a Refurb one. Try installing AOSP based rom, or ARHD and see if the issue still persist.
HTC replaces phone with another defective one
I recently discovered my HTC ONE M7 has dead pixels on the top of the screen (notifications bar, which sucks as you cant access any shortucut to the notifications and need to look for the app on your own) and in the middle of the screen (when there is something to click on that spot i have to scroll up or down where the screen actually works. In some cases the page can't be scrolled down or zoomed therefore I am just screwed without options).
Turns out this happens 6 months after I got this phone exchanged by HTC (because the original phone I bought had a defective camera with purple color bug). This means the screen of the "new" phone I got has a life span of 6 months without defects only. SIX MONTHS!!
It seems when HTC replaces your phone for a new one they are just giving you defective products or refurbished products, which will break shortly after.
So nobody knows what is causing this problem and if its hardware or software related?

Hardware hardware hardware hardware hardware........ And so on
I am having a problem with my HTC one M7 (Rogers) . I am running Android Revolution HD 84.0 (and I have tried the last couple versions without any change in the problem). When recording video the colour information seems to be horribly skewed relative to the brightness data. The screen shows the video properly, the problem is only visible when playing back the video. Here is a video of the problem, and yes I see the irony in using a broken camera to record a video of another broken camera:
It looks like it is either reading a bunch of garbage data before the colour data, or starting partway through the colour data and reading off into another section of memory (I don't know if it is read top to bottom or bottom to top).
I tried changing ROMs and cycled through the last few versions of ARHD without any change in behaviour. I did a factory reset and there was no change. I am not sure what provoked the problem as I don't frequently review my videos so I don't actually know when it started but it was in the last 2-3 months.
My hope would be that the next step is to re-flash the camera firmware but I haven't any idea how to do that on this phone or where I would obtain camera firmware.
Has anybody run into this before? What should I try next?
After some searching I see 2 other people have had this problem with no solution:

This is a known issue with the HTC Camera App. Not a Rom issue or an problem with your camera.
Recording at 1080x720 works fine. It was something to do with HTC implementing the eye experience on the M7 Camera app. You can replace the camera app with an older one but you will lose the eye experience. Or record at 1080x720

I wish known issues like this were better disclosed - I could have avoided wasting people's time.
You seem to be correct, I have changed to the google camera and it seems to be working properly.
Hey! I got shipped used soft bricked M7 today, fixed software, updated to ViperOne 8,0,0 and noticed that when i open my camera, only front camera works and it shows everything in highly saturated pink. Also - there is no option for rear camera.
Any advice?

Pink saturation is a weeeeeellllllll known issue. The solution is to replace the camera with the newer module. First model all had this issue caused by heat.
FOr the other camera its looks like its not detected to it probably another hardware problem. Maybe its not connected correctly or the module is dead.
Advice: send it for repair.
