I got my hands on an old Incredible S and found this great forum. I started following the steps in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1705913, but stuck on the section 2 because revolutionary.io is unreachable atm and the key cannot be generated (though I got the revolutionary-0.4pre4.zip file from somewhere by googling it). I have no idea if I'm forsaken... It looks like the site has also been gone up and down a few times before, but I'm not sure if it's going to come back to life again.
1. Did anyone experience this before? How many days did you wait for revolutionary.io to come back up?
2. If revolutionary.io is really gone for good, can I still write a custom ROM on my Inc. S? If so, what are my options? (Many custom ROMs seem to require S-OFF...)
3. Assuming revolutionary.io comes back again later, I'm thinking of using one of ARHD 6.0, VivoKat, CyanVivo X Reborn, or even the old cm-7.2.0-vivo.zip one. My No.1 priority is stability and battery life, but I'll be keeping wireless on most of the time (without automatic syncing). I don't value eye-candies or animations (I'll turn them all off), and want maximum free memory. Still camera and FM radio should work flawlessly. What will be the right choice in such a case?
Got the same problem here, although I want to S-OFF a Desire S. But this time there is no DNS-record for the website, which looks more like "someone hasn't paid their bills" than "the server is just offline". I hope it will come back shortly!
OK, I gave up on S-OFF path and took the other path described here. I tried ARHD 6.0, VivoKat, CyanVivo X Reborn, and also the original ICS rom from HTC. All worked fine.
Edit: sorry, wrong information

The team took down their old services and are only supporting the newest sunshine which is a $25 cost
Its for newer devices idk if it works on vivo and saga but thats why you dont get the connection anymore

neither beaups nor myself had anything to do with revolutionary, nor did we have anything to do with (nor even know) it being taken down
spreading erroneous info like this, just pisses people off, and makes me deal with drama that has absolutely nothing to do with me. Something that i would rather not have to deal with.

yes but do it from a linux box, or else you will get the wrong site from some reason.

I have been trying to get this issue fixed for the past month but nothing seems to work.
I've spoken with Ale Baba and he tried helping me but he has not responded to my last two PM's (I assume he is extremely busy).
The camera will not load. Once I click the Camera app or any other app that relies on the camera, I get a black screen and I have to Force Close the app.
The Full Logs are available in the attachments.
I hope someone can lend me a hand. I thought that trying a vanilla (stock) ROM might eliminate other issues but I cannot get my hands on one.
Quite easy: Your hardware doesn't respond at all. That's what I essentially already told you in PMs.
There are plenty of (stock) RUUs in this forum, all rooted. Choose one and see if you sensor works.
I very much doubt that, for me this looks like defective hardware which no ROM developer can fix. I might be wrong though.

Well, then I completely misunderstood your intention.
Your last PM was this:
This really seems to be a problem with the kernel. I used a stock kernel, maybe HTC changed something in newer hardware revisions.
HTC might have fixed that error in the kernel sources they provide. Please try Azure 0.5 (available via ROM Manager).
For Azure I compiled the kernel and if you are lucky this error is fixed.

I apologize if you sent another PM and I did not receive it. From this message, I understood that if I try a different ROM, I may have more success with it accessing my camera, which was not the case. I've tried many ROMs and it seems they all suffer from the same issue with my device.
I will try one of the stock RUUs around here, if that fails, I will unroot and send it in for warranty purposes.
Actually I got your reply about Azure not working either and am pretty sure that I recommended trying 2.03.
But I usually do a lot of things concurrently, so maybe I just thought I send that reply and didn't check whether it was sent at all.
Ok so I've seen this both on the One Max and One M8, just curious if anyone knows or thinks it'll work on the M7.... Here's the thread link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2725455
Anyone with any knowledge or insight on this, lemme know, I'd love a simple little mode like that, actually made by htc and part of Sense. I'm on a Verizon M7 4.4.3 and we don't have it, and I know that the Verizon M8 doesn't either...

I don't have the One mini, but I know in the One Max forums they flashed it n it worked n I know they don't have 4.4.4, just trying to get some feedback before flashing n avoiding having to do a restore of possible. I'll probably give it a whirl within the next day or 2 if nobody knows. Been curious about this 4 a while now

Just looked under all the sections under settings about phone and nothing about One Mini, just HTC6500LVW . I dunno, it doesn't seem like it's something that could break anything, especially since it appears to be just a launcher of sorts that's dependent on the Sense 6 framework.
On a unrelated topic, I just flashed the new Moto Droid Turbo Control Center Widget and it's lib files, and that works... (look at me , going OT in my own thread) anyways, point being, I'm just gonna go ahead and flash it 2morrow morning when I wake up. I've got a good nandroid , so it can't really hurt.

Don't say that. A nandroid is not a complete fail safe.
Just figured I'd let everyone know it installs fine, and for the most part, it works. As stated in original thread, when u click messages, it says app not installed, and it disabled the little green unread msg count that usually pops up next to the msg icon when u get a new msg
Update: 3/10/15- FOUND A SOLUTION THAT EASY MODE WORKS PERFECTLY ON MY M7 (Verizon). . When u flash the EASY MODE zip, it messes up the stock HTC green unread count u have on sense... BUT- If u extract the apk and install it normally, it installs , it WORKS 100 % , and doesn't mess up unread count.
Hi guys,
After a couple of weeks trying to solve my problem, I couldn't help but submit it to you all. What a shame!
I received an old HTC one m7 by a friend who is so rich he can afford to give away such a smartphone he gave up using it since he has a problem a few months since he bought it. The phone stopped working, so he asked a friend to repair it so he could use it again. Well, the guy who modded the phone (I don't know who he is) said the phone could not be reset, and he should have modded it with a cooked ROM.
And here we are. He flashed a ROM I still can't identify, with an improbable CWM recovery in Thai language. This ROM is jelly bean based, it's widely bugged and speakers don't work. Since my friend couldn't use the phone to make calls anymore, he switched to an iPhone (heart attack!) and abandoned this amazing phone.
Now I have the phone, and I'm going crazy trying to find a solution to bring the phone back to it's old glory. Since I'm a poor owner of Sony devices, I have no idea of how to mod an HTC, and unfortunately many guides on the internet expect that every single person on this planet knows what they're talking about.
Here are my troubles: I don't know how to check if the phone is S-off (and I have no idea of what it means) or what is its CID (what's that?!). I can't flash a twrp recovery, and I can't speak Thai, so I can't use the current recovery. I don't know if the phone is branded. Bootloader is different from the ones whom I find the screenshots on the internet.
Can anyone solve this enigma?
Here are some screenshots.

that baseband is something ive never seen before
everyone on here is going to ask you this question, and so am I, we need your fastboot getvar all without the IEMI and serial number, but as you probably don't know how to use that, then do this for now:
hold down the power button and select restart, whilst the phone is shutting down, hold down the volume down button, don't let go until the phone comes back on, should come back on to what is known as the bootloader screen, please take a picture of this and post it.

Also tell us what your phone's original Model ID is. It will be written on the back end, at the lower side.
That way we will get the idea of your query from which region the phone was made to work and on which network.
Because seems like it's firmware was converted.
Here it is! Does anyone know Thai? Or Chinese? Or whatever the hell is this?
Model PN07100
Does it sound legit?
I'm gonna try to obtain the getvar thing by googling some guides.

That's Chinese. And does not look like the HTC One M7 bootloader screen. The ROM also did not look like stock Sense 5 (bits of it did, but that might just be HTC apps installed from the Play Store). Get the fastboot getvar all results, but for now my suspicion is that it might be a very nice looking clone.

Guys I'm amazed! :'D
Well, it's probably a clone. I've just found this on the internet, I've checked the battery and... It's 1600MAh!!
Damn, those Chinese guys take cloning pretty seriously!!
Enigma solved!
I'm wondering if there is any chance either to flash a ROM or to update it, because speakers and Bluetooth don't work.
It's an HDC clone.

Yep sorry to tell you but this is a fake HTC One No software or firmware for HTC One will work with this device.
I wonder if the rich guy bought a clone or the friend who tried to "repair" it swapped it for a clone LOL
I bought an HTC Desire 510 few months ago cause my Xperia ARC died (was the best phone I ever had).
Now I am very disappointed with the HTC 510, mainly cause of it's awful operating system bundled by google ALL OVER the place
The user interface is a one big disaster, so much annoying and unnecessary stuff... besides the annoying bloatware (parental control app? srsly?)
I really wanna root this phone and change it's OS to those similar of gingerbreed, cyanogen etc but I don't know how to do this with my current phone
and don't even know what custom operating systems are available for the model I have.
What annoys me about the user interface:
*Often lowers the earphone music volume without my permission then gives me this annoying warning that making it higher will damage my hearing - srsly?
*Screen tends to lower it's lighting and back again by itself while I use the phone
*A button at the bottom of the menu that looks like a "home logo" will open somekind of useless google page each time I drag that button up by mistake.
*Terrible and irremovable Gallery app, not to mention it displays images in uncomfortable way, it also features a slideshow which often plays automatically without me asking it to each time I enter a photo album.
*Poorly made irremovable alarm clock app
*Other forced google apps installed on my phone which i don't use and can't just get rid of
*Bad just bad option of organizing apps, well for me atleast, back on my Xperia ARC I used to organize my apps by "commonly used apps" feature, went great, here it's just wacky, it doesn't do it automatically after you set it to organize the following way. So I find myself surfing through all the useless apps to find the app I need at the app menu.
Can anyone give me guidance or recommendation for an alternative Operating System I could replace this horrific google product infecting my phone since I bought it?
I presume this phone would become amazing with a new custom OS, did anyone changed the OS on their HTC 510? if yes what you use and how is it?
Also I know to root this device you first need to unlock the bootloader, is there anything else important I need to know when rooting it?

Dude really. Maybe you should have checked out the forums of this model B4 you bought it. That being said, since you say you are unlocked and rooted then doing a quick search should get you everything you need to rid yourself of all that is bothering you. Depending on what you have and with whom there are some pretty good options out there to use. Check it out and start doing it.
Or you could just throw your phone in the lake, buy and Iphone and forget about it. Bam!

I actually planned to buy Galaxy 3, heard it was good but also had slow loading problems, then I was offered an alternative of this HTC for the same price and faster working system. It was a spontaneous buy.
And I thought buying an Iphone but changed my mind cause of the "itunes" thing.

Ok, how do I deal with the "menu" thing where I want to authomatically always to arrange my icons by last used but cant right now?
I tried themes, but those are so intrusive and full of advertising, well those I tried so far.. (if there are any good ones to recommend I'd give a try) and how about disabling the annoying requests of updates I don't even need? <--(forgot to mention this issue) And how about issues 1-3 I mentioned? any idea how i deal with those then? You talk as if it's so easy, show me then.
About the lake.. better to throw to those who came up with this terrible phone idea

All I can say (and I never said it was easy) is for you to subscribe to all of the HTC 510 Forums and start reading thru the threads. In your case, the most helpful one being this one..."Help & Troubleshooting" if you can not find answers to your particular questions then I would assume that means we just aren't there yet. This is a pretty new device after all. I wouldnt know about themes being I am on custom ROM and that is not an option. You should maybe go for the Unlock and root your phone method. Try out some of the ROMs available. I believe that will alleviate many of your issues since the stock ROM that came with these units have multiple issues. Many of them are the same ones you are experiencing. I wish you well and Read, Read, Read.
Good Luck

You should definitely read through the forums if you haven't so far. I have read/skimmed every thread here about our phone and I almost have no questions or concerns except for some ideas for a couple of issues that haven't been brought up yet or just not yet done.
I only use Sense Home or Dodol Launcher and they both don't have the option to sort by last used, check out Nova, Apex, or some other launcher.
As far as the update is concerned, you can follow this post by LarryBoyG, if you plan to stay on stock. I'm sure a custom ROM will be built that includes the update, unless everyone just wants to wait for Lollipop.
Hi okay um I have never owned an android, nor have i ever tried to root or unlock a bootloader. I have jailbroken an IPod so many times, SO many times. I want to cry because of how confused I am.
I followed this video: How to Unlock Bootloader on HTC Desire! Works on All HTC Devices (livingandroid)
I did perfectly, no hiccups
I then followed this video: The Easiest Way To Root Any Android Device Without A Computer (2017) (The Android Guy)
This is where i STARTED to mess up. My phone wouldnt go past the HTC screen (It would start up the metro opening screen but then go back to the htc screen)
So in my genius i thought (well dang why dont i just wipe everything and it'll be good "just like my iPod")
Guys i want to cry from how dumb i am. I've never posted here. I have never had an android much less messed with one. It tells me that if i reboot the system I will have no OS. That sounds extremely bad in my head. Is there anything i can do to somehow just fix this. Anything at all? Thank you so much for any help.
From
Someone that will never try anything ever again
Yeah, going through with that last part sounds like a pretty poor idea. I don't think you're totally screwed yet, though. Try finding the *RUU* for your version on the HTC website, paying close attention to the model and carrier. In theory, the RUU alone should reset your OS back to the factory state, but it apparently doesn't work 100% of the time. If it doesn't work, say something and I'll reply with new instructions.
Good luck out there, man.
Jake
P.S. I think all you had to do to root this thing is flash SuperSU. At any rate, there's a tutorial in this forum that makes it pretty easy; you shouldn't be able to do this again if you follow it. Check it out if you get the chance.
EDIT: This tool should be able to do everything you need after you fix your current issue: https://forum.xda-developers.com/devdb/project/dl/?id=17244
