i recently attempted to downgrade my Samsung Galaxy S5 AT&T (SM-G900A) back to 4.4.2 using odin . After everything was finished , odin told me it failed (succeeded 0 / failed 1)
when i tried to reboot my device , right when i turned it on it said "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again .. I download Kies 3 To my computer and tried to upgrade/update , they told me the lasted stock firmware was 4.4.2 and i tried to update it and they told me that i needed to go to emergency recovery . my device did not show up . Someone please help , i just want my normal phone back

Im assuming you were on lollipop(5.0), you cant downgrade from that, theres files in the general section for you to use to odin lollipop back.

can you post a link to where the lollipop firmware for SM-G900A is? I've been looking around in the general S5 thread, but I still couldn't find it. I'd like to odin lollipop back to my phone. Thank you

They're in the AT&T S5 general section, the S5 general and ATT general section aren't the same.

Hi guys.
I am unable to update my Galaxy Note by any means. Kies says that my device does not support software upgrading via Kies. When I tried OTA, I get a message saying Failed to update firmware.
This is not the ICS upgrade. This is a 72.29 MB upgrade rolled out months back. I have tried everything with Kies. It refuses to budge.
I have browsed several threads but none provided me with a working solution. I read that sometimes the firmware is flashed when you give the phone for repairing. I DID give my phone at the service centre once and was handed back a completely fresh install of the software.
I am very noob-y in matters related to kernels and CSC and odin. A detailed answer would be really helpful. Your patience and effort is appreciated.

You can update to the latest version of ICS for India using the PC Odin. Thats the fastest way of upgrading. Follow the instruction that Dr Ketan has for upgrading to the Indian Rom of ICS.

download pc odin
enable usb debugging
unknown sources
open pc odin
just open pda and browse to the tar file and do not change any other options and flash

download indian ics and use pc odin to update..

will wait for OTA update.. waited for such a longtime already!!
Karthikdoc - U dont have to wait for OTA update. It is already there.. Just keep refreshing .. I did a OTA update of Note to ICS almost a week ago .. and some even more earlier.
Profest - It would be good if you can go into
Settings --> About Phone
and provide us the Android version
Baseband version
Kernal version
Just want to make sure the samsung guys gave you a right flash and also to guide you in the right direction ..
Maybe factory reset will help.....
Afterall you will have to do it before upgrading to ICS.
Hi,
I have got my S3 few months back from US and currently I am using it in India. Its an international version unlocked phone which is running with Vodafone service provider.
I connected my S3 to Kies and I got a notification that latest firmware avaiable. I clicked on upgrade. And my device was neither in Download mode or Recovery mode when connected to kies via PC.
Kies downloaded the latest firmware & completed, but I cannot see the 4.1.2 on my S3. And now even Kies is not showing me that there is latest version available.
Below are the details
Current firmware version: PDA:LJ2 / PHONE:LID / CSC:LJ2(XEF)
When dialed with keypad @#1234# Now I get-
AP : I9300XXDLJ2
CP : I9300XXDLID
CSC : I9300XEFDLJ2
What is AP & CP. It must be PDA/PHONE. & I think LJ2 still means my android version is 4.1.1 only. How do I update my S3 to 4.1.2 using kies.
I dont want to use Odin as i want my warranty not to be broken.
Note: When i was downloading the firmware through kies, my device was not in download mode. Is that why the upgrade is not applied on S3.

Sorry for posting my thread in wrong section. But can you please tell me in my case if I have to upgrade to 4.1.2 using kies what can I do.
I tried to downgrade my galaxy s5 (thru at&t) back to 4.4.2, the problem was that I have received ALL oAL upgades.
At first the phone said encountered upgrade error so then I flashed 5.0 and now I have a phone that just goes to the first logo page and stays. Does anyone have the LATEST OAL 5.1.1 zip file or Odin file for at&t galaxy s5?
Or suggestions? I just need this phone back working Thank you all for your help!

Hi. There fellow android users, I am currenty plagued with an Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & Try Again Samsung Galaxy SM-G900A (AT&T) and i'm trying to get my phone back in working order. I've tried using Odin to flash AP_G900AUCU1ANCE_964333_REV00_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5 back on to it, sadly it fails everytime. If, anyone has any tips or pointers to help a noob out that would be great. xD.
Currently what i can do on the phone:
Get it to go in to download mode or Odin mode as it says at the top.
