The ZTE Axon is now officially released and available to order direct from ZTE, Amazon, EBay or NewEgg. Has any one gotten their hands on one and if so, what is it like? I pre-ordered one direct from ZTE on July 14 and have yet to receive it. Order has been "processing" for five days. If ordered, please list vendor, order date and status. I had requested a forum for this device and thankfully, the request was granted.

ZTE Axon Order
Ordered Zte Axon and case on Monday 7/27 direct from ZTE USA. The case shipped yesterday. Over the phone with ZTE I was told the phones should ship this week.
My phone order status is now "partially shipped". Not sure how you partially ship a phone. Hope it doesn't show up in pieces.
I have the device in hand and setting it up currently. Ordered silver, received blue. Build quality is decent but not on par with my other devices, Z3 and M9. Snappy, nice screen. Real test will come later when I test audio through headphones. This is my reason for adding this device to my collection.
Edit: Audio is rich and well rounded. Very happy with audio through headphones.
Edit2: A ZTE crystal case just arrived, shipped overnight, with a letter stating an apology for the delay in initial shipments. Nice touch and case is quite nice.
Bootloader
Perhaps this is a bit early but - does it look like it is possible to unlock the bootloader?

No clue yet, let me have a look after work.
Edit: No familiarity with ZTE, this is my first device from this manufacturer. I would assume the bootloader could be unlocked but can't say for sure.
You need to wait a long time, this is China's marketing strategy.
Just finally spent a few hours listening to music on this device. Audio reproduction through headphones obliterates Z3 and M9.
I ordered mine last night through zte the gold one hopefully it gets here this week. I was going to try and wait on the moto x pure edition coming out this fall but the specs on this seemed on par with the moto and around the same price so no waiting just wish it had th expanded storage.
Battery life is impressive as well. Easily lasts the day with moderate usage.

I agree, no SD slot is a detriment but if you're selective about what is on the phone, 32GB storage is sufficient. Really 24GB accounting for system files. the Lux model at 128GB would be nice but I believe that is for China only.
Just got mine on Friday and I'm very much enjoying mine so far. The phone does get warm when playing games, but I'm not getting any slow down or lag in the games themselves. The phone feels really nice in the hand and I can get some good photos after playing with the settings. All in all, I'm liking it more than the locked down note edge I'm coming from. Also, I'll agree with augie7107 on the audio. With the JBL earphones, the audio on this thing is spectacular. Now to see if we get any custom roms or root. There is the OEM unlock option in the dev options. Sorry, have been lurking for awhile, but I felt like I needed to chime in on this phone.
One question for those who already have theirs. Does the 4g lte work on At&t slower, faster, or about normal?

well I have 32gb Galaxy S6 so I'm used to the storage issues thank goodness for cloud storage and I started to leave some of my music off the phone so that takes up less space.

Faster than what I got on both M9 and Z3 in same signal area.

Ordered mine today from Amazon. I'll have it tomorrow. Did anyone who *didn't* pre-order get the JBL earbuds? My understanding is they come free with a pre-order, but are a $50 accessory otherwise. I'd love to be wrong about this.

Happy to hear that they allow the bootloader to be unlocked. That means at least getting root should be easy.
As a comparison, I ordered mine on July 14, about two hours into the pre-order period and just received it July 30. Well worth the wait though

Well I did the overnight shipping so maybe they'll refund that money since they have not shipped it out yet and does not say when they will ship it. Trying really hard not to cancel this order and wait for the MOTo X pure edition but I have the feeling they are just pre-ordering in september and shipping in late october.

Below is specific only to the orders from the first day the Nexus 4 was live.
Limbo 1 order fulfillment: ~99%
Limbo 2 order fulfillment: ~99%
Limbo 3 order fulfillment: ~91% (the majority of orders fall into this category)
"fulfillment" = shipped
Above is my educated guess on the status of the shipments that have been going out. I'm constantly tracking this and several other sources for continuing information.
Current status of orders and shipments:
Points below are confirmed:
First major batch shipped Nov 19 (upgraded to Next Day Air).
All orders that took place on the 13th that were back-ordered will be upgraded to Next Day Air for free.
Play Store Customer Service do not have any relevant information about your order. Calling them is nothing short of a complete waste of time.
Orders have not been shipped on a first-come first-serve basis. There is no pattern to the shipments, it is seemingly random. We have indisputable evidence of this.
Addendum to above: It is believed that we are finally going in order. Some of the later orders were shipped first due to an incomplete manifest.
Many people have noticed the last updated date on the Play orders page has changed. No one is certain yet what this might mean.
Points below are likely:
Logistics have been outsourced to UPS.
Order mechanics "slid" during the initial rush of the first few minutes of the product going live. This caused several issues (including an incomplete manifest sent to UPS).
Status of your order (limbos):
1) Order placed. No e-mail of any kind (including order confirmation) received.
2) Order placed. Order confirmation received. No other e-mail of any kind received.
3) Order placed. Order confirmation received. Back-order e-mail received.

Tentative US order time: 09:00AM PST
Changed "confirmed" to "tentative". 09:00AM PST is most likely, but you should be watching out regardless.
These are some of my favorite threads here! We all heard that the Nexus 4 is now official but I'd wager that a lot of us are waiting for preorders to open up on the Play Store.
Post the usual "I ordered!" "It shipped!" etc. here! I, personally, cannot wait for this guy. Just sold my S3 for it.
I did call Google to ask if they were going to open pre-orders for the device. Doesn't look like it this time around, but I was told that you will be able to purchase on November 13th and that stock would start shipping "either on the 13th or the 17th," whatever that means.
Current information (as of Nov 12):
No one knows what time the purchase will go live.
Best guesses are sometime in the morning of the 13th (office hours), or at 00:00 PST. I'm personally leaning toward the former. (NEW: see below)
There will be no pre-order on the Play Store.
Check here for specific country availability.
Check here for more information on shipping and handling for your country.
A Virtual Credit Card (VCC) cannot be used with your purchase in the device store. Also, at this time, the country of your credit card must match the the country to which you're shipping.
Taxable charges, if any, depend on what state you're ordering from.
We do not know what shipping options will be available. Right now, only 2-day shipping is confirmed. We are hopeful for an overnight option at launch.
News added Nov 10:
Android Police got a little clarification from Google-- the rep said pretty much exactly what we've been assuming for the past couple of weeks. They also agree with me that the button will be more likely to go live in the morning sometime, rather than at midnight. See source here: http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/1...-shipments-start-november-13th-no-pre-orders/
News added Nov 13:
A German Google employee has revealed that the Nexus 4 should be selling at "around breakfast time" in Germany. He also mentioned that would be about 8-9AM. This would lead us to believe that the order form will go live at 0:00PST as originally anticipated. Germany is 9 hours ahead of Pacific Standard Time-- aka, 2AM Central, 3AM EST.[/url]
im guessing on nov 13th but they really didnt say.

I'll most definitely be getting one of these. The price is good, it looks good, and I really dig the wireless charging. I've many times where I'd just put my phone on my desk, forgot to connect the charger, and fall asleep just to wake up with a (mostly) depleted battery. Finally a worthy replacement for my ageing Nexus one.

It's not too big of a concern. The wireless charging is a more of a luxury than anything. The most important thing is the option is available; the aftermarket solutions either adds thickness or look just plain ugly.

hey everyone, it looks like AT&T is shipping the galaxy s6 4 days ahead of their official shipping date. I got mine shipped today and estimated delivery is on Tuesday! Hopefully most other AT&T devices shipped today as well. Also, this is my first Samsung phone since the galaxy s2. I want to know somethings I need to look out for in this new phone, regarding software, the locked boot loader on AT&T models etc.
Thanks,

Because we monitor progress on the device in hopes that a means of rooting will be found. That way we know what is going on in the community and are aware of existing issues so we can hit the ground running rather than posting a million noob questions (thus minimizing the number of 'google that, noob' posts clogging well developed threads).

I just bought a refurbished one used, for 200€ . As a play store refurbished unit it comes with 2 years warranty and it s like new. Here in Europe Google refurbish devices when you RMA it for some problem, and gives 2 years of warranty so now I have a brand new nexus 6. It a great it a like to have an unlimited warranty. I bought a nexus 6 from a nexus 5 only for the warranty and to have a battery that last all day. That said this phone is great in everything and I start to get addicted to the enormous screen. In hand it feels better than many other phones, it a fast , good battery, good camera, and awesome display. My only problem is the bug with 7.1.1 with loudspeaker calls, and auto volume reduction when is too high. So if you can live with an enormous screen , I can tell you buy it ,you will not regret

If you can find one for 250$ at most then go ahead, buy one. I bought the 32Gb version in 2015, black Friday on Amazon for just 200$ and I couldn't be more happier. You have lots of ROM's to choose from and the development community is awesome.
Could be a problem for the future though, since its internals may not cope well with the future versions of Android, being a 32-bit device and all.
Anyways, hope this helped.

I got mine for 156$ USD last summer. It was used 32gb in mint condition. Guess I got lucky with the prize. I'll have to say that I'm impressed with the community and this phone will definitely be supported by the community for a long time. Look at Nexus 4. It still has great support. Either way Nexus 6 is truly a legendary beast. The media experience is what got me. For the prize is hard to find a phone with as good community support and good for Nexus consumption. I'm sad that Google ditched dual front facing speakers on the Pixel. If I ever upgrade next year or at the end of this it would be to the 6P if the prize is right. If not I'll keep the 6 until it dies. They don't make phones like these, these days.

I can't deny it's a great phone and probably will get you through 4-5 years, but if I were making the purchase now I would just get a 6p. It is quite a bit more expensive, though. I would think it's worth it. But I can't say for certain because I don't have the device
I got mine a year ago at 250 brand new on amazon, so I would say hell no for 275. I got tired of the Nexus 6, great phone and all, but I started to feel like I bought a phone that never worked at 100% and had to tinker it all the time to be happy with it, and still there I wasn't totally happy with it.
Hell, I bought a huawei p9 last week and it's working better than my nexus 6 ever did (worse screen and speakers of course, but dont care), but it's a way better phone that just works, and it's fast, and shoots great pictures, and battery lasts.
If you NEED a developer phone, get a 6p... If you just want a good phone, check huawei and honor phones, great options for good prices!
Thank you everyone for your time..
If N6 is not an good choice now, Can anyone tell me a phone running PURE ANDROID and in the same budget i.e 278 USD ( INR - 20000) and having a great community support..

When it comes to smartphones, ebay is the worst choice. For all you know, the new device you supposedly bought was actually a repack with Factory Reset Protection triggered. On ebay there is no control and no protection from the unscrupulous. Swappa is much better, as each phone put up for sale must be approved by a member of Swappa, plus unless the phone is in the Swappa boneyard, the phone is guaranteed to work without hassle. Otherwise you send the phone back and get your money refunded.
Having used Swappa once to purchase my S4, I'll never use ebay to get a phone. If Amazon didn't have new 64GB devices at this time last year, I would have used Swappa again. Ebay never entered the discussion.

Moto G4 was my initial choice.
But, seeing the cases Motorola is doing with their phones.. I feel that Moto has lost their sheen..
My dad recent wanted a phone, I choose Moto G3 Turbo, thinking that It would certainly get the Nougat update and regular security update. But, sadly, Motorola dropped the entire G3 series from the Nougat update program, even not fulfilling the 2yr update promise.
My choice for N6 was that even though both phones has will get nougat, N6 would have a nice development scene in the coming year.
Also, Moto G4 is plagued with heating issues.
Can you give me another recommendation..
It's a great phone but I'm sure you can get it for less, 278 is a ripoff even for 64gb.

Pay with PayPal, then you're insured if anything happens :good:
If you preordered your Note 9 between 8/10 and 8/23, you can choose between AKG noise cancelling headphones or the Fortnite Galaxy skin with 15,000 V-bucks for free (or both for $99).
Samsung says the easiest way to redeem you promo (if it didn't ship with the device) is to download "Shop Samsung" app and login. Then go to your "my inbox" tab under the hamburger menu at the top left. If your doing this from your new Note 9, it asks for some permissions, then checks your device specs and device ID's, then Samsung will verify your preorder status and send you a confirmation email.
I say all this to say that I ordered the AKG headphones for free, and that Samsung sent me an email saying they would be sent out around September 3, 2018.
Did anyone already get their promo stuff? Are the headphones awesome? How about the shipping dates for everybody else?
Mine came with the phone and I was never asked if i wanted them. I assume all sprint orders have the earphones.

Those are just the normal headphones that come with the phone, NOT the wireless headphones that Samsung has the Promo running for.
I did it through the Shop Samsung app and it was approved in about 10 minutes. Also shipping the week of the 3rd.
A note on the AKG headphones that come with the phone, they are nothing to write home about. I have the B&O headphones that I got with the LG V30 promo and it is a night an day difference. The B&O are WAY better sounding and a lot more bass.
Oh yea? Let me go ahead and sign up then lol. Good thing you said something.,
Boom.....shipping week of Sept 3rd.

Thanks dude I was wondering about this
Mine just came in today and the headphones are pretty sweet. If you ever tried the Bose QC25s I'd say the AKG N60 is a notch below that in terms of noise cancelation but it makes up for it in audio quality compared to the Bose.
I ordered mine through Amazon. Unlocked version.
Anyone know if the offer applies to my situation? The phone is supposed to arrive today (24AUG18)and I really didn't give a hoot about either the headphones or the game bucks - I ordered via Amazon because they threw in the new wireless charger and a dex unit for free with the pre-order. But what the hey - if I can get the headphones for free too, I'll let my son have them or something.

The free headphones or Fortnite offer will apply. I also ordered through the Amazon website, they have the Blue US unlocked 512 phone in stock where Samsung doesn't? There should be a mailer in the packaging or they will send an email with a coupon code to redeem the offer.
just did mine with the shop samsung app, and will ship the week of the 10th of Sept.
I'm curious about the Vbucks. What if you use the phone and get the Vbucks on your Epic account then return the phone? Will they charge your card the $150 which is the estimated value? [emoji848]

I do recall seeing something like they will charge you for the freebie if you return the phone.
That would suck. Either way I tried to redeem my promotion which is the Vbucks with skin through the Samsung app it says my device is not eligible. Even though I'm doing it form my note 9 that I pre-ordered on August 9th.

I ordered the headphones through the Samsung Shop app when I recieved the phone on Tuesday 8/21. I got the approval notice instantly with a ship date of 9/1. Then on 8/22 I received a tracking number for a FedEx shipment and they just arrived 15 minutes ago 8/24. Pretty damn fast!

What makes you say that? I don't have them yet but I have watched several reviews on them and they say they are excellent noise cancelling headphones when used for that purpose. As in flying and traveling where there is a lot of background noise. When not using them for NC purposes they are a more mid level unit with decent sound.
The AKG headphones that come with the phone in the box are just your run of the meal headphones that don't sound very good at all compared to a good set.
Has anyone confirmed that Samsung will honor the promo for phones shipping after 9/13?

No they aren't. They are fantastic for air travel. I'm sure anything that doesn't appeal to your super "audiophile" ears is utter garbage, though.

Samsung shipped the headphones with the phone from Samsung.com but I'm not sure how it's going to work through the app. Despite them not being audiophile quality, they are excellent noise cancelling headphones.

I don't own any noise canceling OR BT headphones, so I'm actually excited about them. It would be really disappointing if I missed out despite pre-ordering...

I've gone through the samsung promotion app for the S7E, S8 and Note 8 and always received the promo items. Just submit the receipt and you should be good.
Just thought I'd create a thread for those of us that ordered the Almond color. Ordered mine the day it dropped on the site and it appears it'll ship around the 24th. I really thought this one was worth waiting for. You guys who ordered it like I did please chime in here.
I received it last Sunday. It looks class. Gonna rock a clear case with it which is arriving today.

Where are you located?? I'm in the USA and when I ordered it said ships in 14 days. Later I chatted with support and they told me limited edition models ship from select locations which takes longer. After seeing a few YouTube reviewers I like unbox it I thought that's the one.

Yes, I did. Will be here next Wednesday.
I'll add that I am anxious to get my grubby paws on it. All these years have been black phones starting with the OG Droid A855. But the A855 had gold accents that made it look elegant. I got used to the old 24k theme on it and have themed my phone with FFCC66 ever since. When the HTC One M8 came out, I went for the gold one, but soon after Motorola came out with the Nexus 6 and I had to have some Motorola again.
I first started a trade-in with my 6T then found out that the Almond was a limited edition. So I figured the next day I would change it from a voucher to a cash back trade in. Talking to CS was a chore for me, the girl clearly did not really understand a word I was saying, she only knew how to catch on to like one word and then quote from her script. The script was the part of the FAQ that said they don't change the trade ins from voucher to cash back. I went on to tell them to just cancel the trade in and save them some money. She just kept saying Yes, yes, yes. Arg! Asking for someone else with better linguistic skills, I was told there are no others. Hehe.

I guess we would be safe to assume that you are NOT waiting for one then? Anybody get where I'm going with this comment?

And I guess this thread is pointless clutter since there's already a waiting room thread made weeks ago...... But that's how xda is no one uses the threads already created so we just end up with clutter... Just because it's a different color doesn't mean it needs it's own thread.... There's already a waiting room....
Hmm, I just did a search for the waiting room thread, can't find it anywhere in my searches. Since the Almond was not released at the same time and is a limited edition, I think a separate thread is well warranted. So I suppose the only thing that could be clutter is someone who is not waiting for this color of phone.
But what do I know? I've only been around these sites for 10+ years.

Oh I am as well. Finally got shipping info and I'll have mine Tuesday or hopefully sooner. Can't wait to see that beauty. I feel your pain man, it seems as if every darn company goes across the globe for service center workers which is seriously annoying. While I am sympathetic to OP in lieu of some fast growth they should have thought more about the reps talking to the world and having some good English knowledge. Thanks for sharing your smartphone walk here. In my case I started with the LG G3 (BLACK), went to Note 5 (black), S8 (black), note 8b(black), so (blue for 30 days then sold it). Op5t (black), op6 (black then red), 6t (mirror black), stint with a Mi8 (blue sold after 2 months - wanted to try Xiaomi), gotbq P2XL (black)b my current 2 dailys are P2XL AND OP6T. Looking forward to a limited edition 7 Pro myself ??

I'm going to have mine Monday according to the tracking info I have now. I will post some pics as soon as I have it up and running the way I want. Or sooner, lol.
Suffer me this. My smartphone 'walk' actually started with the Motorola A4500, code named Napoleon, also known as the Q9n. It was a Windows Mobile 6.1 phone that we had to hack to unlock the GPS chip for third party apps. It was probably this first phone to really run google maps on Verizon. It was never released, maybe about 200 or so were 'leaked' out to the public. It was cool because it said "Engineering Release Only" on one side and "Not for the Public" on the other.
My Android walk was the A855, then the Galaxy Nexus, toyed with the Motorola razrM just because I got one that the bootloader could be unlocked on, then the HTC One M8 because it could be unlocked as well and the Gnex was getting old. Samsung doesn't make phones to last IMHO. Then Motorola with the Nexus 6. Motorola makes phones. I didn't see anything with what I wanted in a phone that would outdo the Nexus 6 until the Oneplus 6T, four years later. And here I am now. The 6T has been a finicky beast when it comes to flashing ROM's and such. For me, especially restoring Nandroids. So when I got soft bricked recently, I saw the 7 Pro and then in Almond and figured, I'll get that one, rock it, root it, rom it, and then just enjoy it for a few years. Screw all the updates. I learned on the A855 that although being able to run the latest on it is not always the greatest as the hardware was pretty much designed for the software available at the time. It might go one or two steps, but then your performance is going to fall off. That's why my Nexus lasted four years. It's still on Lolipop 5.1.1 and running well as it is again my daily driver while I wait to get this one.
Well, its here. I'm on my nexus 6 right now so I hope I can figure out how to post the one picture. The almond back is sort of pearlish and I really like the gold outer band. I've got it charged and now to go full speed ahead, damn the torpedoes and unlock the bootloader etc.
