I'm having a weird issue with my Moto X. Since flashing CM12 from stock 5.1 everytime i shoot a video with it all I get is a very high noise. Here's a sample: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B6XghJqtd5-cQnZWcmtMY0xtYUE/view?usp=sharing
This happened on both stock CM Camera and on the Moto Camera I flashed. Then I flashed the stock system back and the problem persists.
The issue is not happening with calls, voice recording or anything else. Has anyone had this issue before? Thanks.
Any ideas?
On WhatsApp calls I also have an issue, the mic volume is very low, so low that people think im not speaking. On regular calls the mic is fine.
I think it's a hardware issue with your microphone. What about speaker during calling? Can they hear you fine? If it is happening on two different roms, then how could it be software right?

I'm with the same issue, but it only happens on Custom ROM ( i tested many of roms, all based in Android 5.1.1 ).
Same issue here, only noise in video on custom ROM's, on stock all is fine, I think...

So, you think it`s a hardware problem, not software?
And b.t.w., my Moto is 1056. You can check yours in fastboot/barcode

I don't think it's hardware, because when i'm in Stock, i don't have any problems. But when I install any custom ROM the problem appears :/
My moto is 1058
Nobody with news about this issue?
in my case since it happens on both stock and custom rom I'm pretty sure is a problem with one of the two microphones in the motherboard, if so it should be pretty hard to fix. (at least none of the local repair centers I called could do it). I'm waiting for my new Z3 to arrive goodbye moto =(

I just picked up my pair today, and I'm already having a minor issue. Everything works perfectly, but I can't hear/be heard when I make a phone call.
I'm hoping that this is a problem with my phone, and not my glass, but when I try to call a friend they can't hear me and I'm unable to hear them. I'm using a rooted SGS2 that's got CM10.1 running.
Anyone run into this, and if so how did you fix it?

I've been having issues for a while now (about 3 month) where anyone I speak to on the phone can hear their own voice echoing back. I don't hear anything on my end.
It started happening at a point where a made a few changes to my phone (upgraded to JB, new battery, replaced the charging circuit and flashed a custom rom) so im having trouble pinning down what is causing it.
Has anyone else experience similar issues and know how to solve it?

Open call dial -> call settings -> additional settings -> tic on noise reduction
OR during having a call, press menu -> noise reduction on
..
Makes no difference.
I forgot to mention that I'm on the Stunner 2 rom but have tried a few others all with the same problem.
try different modem, maybe modem issue? That usually doesnt change inbetween rom. Which modem are you on? Try reflashing it, or different version. At own risk

I have tried XXLSA, XXLSС, XXLSO and XXLT3 taken from this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1645202
You have just reminded me that since this started I have also had some issues with not being able to get a 3G signal in areas where I once could without trouble.

Ok if none of that helps, as well as new/different rom/kernels, maybe hardware.
Perhaps the modem with which you didnt have any issues if you can remember.

It was last working when I was on Gingerbread. As far as I know I can't use the same modem while on JB can I?
EDIT: I meant to say Ice Cream Sandwich not Gingerbread

in that case you can try, but I suspect issues. Modems shouldnt matter at all which why originally they arent supplied with custom roms. I am really just guessing now.
I preferred lp5 with all roms untill Jb, now lt3.
I think maybe give mobile odin a try with flashing the modem, versus flashing the zipfile.
Also keep a lookout for logs, maybe it gives some details as to what is going wrong with your phone. Try logcat, elixer2 or android tuner (paid) for that.

Guys I need help, when I made voice call people can hear echo when talk to me on phone, but I speak normal and everything is clear? Can anyone give advice?
Try turning the incall volume down a bit. I usually have the reverse issue and that squares things away. Might help for your issue as well.

Uhm.. If its so as you said; probably carrier or hardware issue. You better try(if not yet) another sim etc.
In case; the same issue occurs for me, and some users who uses T-Mobile based rom on their international variant devices. When in a call, I dont hear an echo but other people hear their voices again. Never mind sitriw, you knocked-out me No idea.

Same issue here, except it's with Salt Mobile here in Switzerland. My impression is that while in handsfree mode, the microphone picks the voice. Looks like a very cheap hardware that is not capable of delivering a proper user experience

So I updated to 7.1.1 today, lost night mode. And to top it off when I'm on speakerphone the other person can hear a squealing sound while talking. Anyone else having the problem?

Same problem here. I thought it was a signal issue. Until I flashed the 7.0 radio on top of 7.1.1 and the same issue. I think the official release of 7.1.1 has some bugs.

Good finding. I'll try out.
I'm also experiencing this issue, I've tried downgrading the Phone app through "Play store uninstall", unfortunately on 6.0.13 the bug is still here (current version is 7.0.14), dunno about downgrading it further, but had it been related to the Phone app, we'd hear reactions from Pixels / Nexuses 6P/5X, so it's definitely our update to 7.1.1, which is bad news, I don't know how quick Google will be with the next version now that we're past our official updates period.

Were you using the speakerphone? Do people on the other end complain when just using the regular built-in phone (not on speaker)?

Its not only on stock 7.1.1. I've got the same issue on PureNexus 7.1.1 (january patch). The speakers are working fine when hearing to music or watching videos, but with the speaker phone its awful on the other side. They are also squealing when getting notfications.

post some photos of the blurry image here. Post a landscape and portrait photo of a close subject. my friend also had same problem, he changed the camera module himself and all is good now. luckily the module is cheap if u bought directly from china. not degrading in picture quality overall.
I've seen a similar issue on other users phones in OnePlus forums and elsewhere. Everyone seems to be having this issue on the 4.5.XX update. Do a clean flash back to 4.1.x and see if it's fixed. If not, your focus sensor is dead.
As thes3usa mentioned, Seems like many users are facing issue after OOS 4.5.x update. But still its not confirmed whether the issue is related to hardware or software.
Its also reported in the OnePlus community that flashing old version of OOS doesn't help either
Can anyone tell me whether can i claim warranty for this camera issue ?
Any update to the issue friends?

Hey,
Where did you buy your device from? OP Store? or a reseller in your country? Whichever it is, unless you've given the device a hard drop or something like that, I think you should be able to claim warranty on camera failure, since it's an internal error, and not done by your own hands.
P.S.: Next time, use the reply function when you're replying or quoting another post.
Cheers!
