Can't install any ROM - Galaxy S III I9305 (4G LTE + 2GB RAM) Q&A, Help &

Hi, I've a big problem with my S3. I wanted to install 5.1.1 Cyanogenmod but every times I got infinite loading (I wiped/factory resetted after but it din't work). Then I wanted to back to SlimSaber 4.4.4
Currently:
- I can get into TWRP recovery
- I can get into download mode, but it contains "Secure Download: Enabled"
- my phone gets infinite loading with SlimKat logo
- It looks that my sd card and internal storage became read-only. I can't copy any file to it, even 100kb image (separately, sd card is also read-only, even having button at "unlocked")
- When I want to use Kies to emergency recover my phone, it downloads files and then always stucks at 0%
- When I want to use Odin it stucks here (tried with few ROMs downloaded via sammobile): http://i.imgur.com/29sHKnU.png
Could you help me, please!
edit: I can write on sd card now, but I've problem with internal storage.
When I wanted to install RR Rom i got this message:
unmount of /system failed ; no such volume
script succeeded: resutl was [0.200000]
Click to collapse
It looks that I've problem with mounting system. I tried to use "Mount" at TWRP but it didn't help....

Hi! Please !!!!!!! Exactly I have the same problem. ... If u get solution please contact me or leave me replay. . I get crazy from search. ... if i get any solution i will pm u ...Thanks. ..

Copied from my own post:
1. Flashed 4.4.4 nordic version of stock (I9305XXUFNL1_I9305DNFFOB1_I9305XXUFOA1) in ODIN, and let it complete with its setup-wizards and so forth
2. Flashed clockworkmod for i9305 (v. 6.0.4.5) via ODIN
3. I flashed nameless nightly 09.07.2015 in cwm and booted it (without gapps)
4. Rebooted back to recovery and installed tk-gapps.
5. Well everything works

Help, please: Boot loop during Cyanogenmod zip install

Hello,
I'm not gonna panic, as I think Ive not bricked my phone YET.
Here is what I have done, I have a GALAXY S I9000.
Have been using it for quite some time now. 2 years ago, I have flashed it with - hardcore's kernel with the ClockworkMod Recovery - using Odin.
Today I decided to give Cyanogenmod a go, followed the steps here. - http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/Samsung_Galaxy_S:_Full_Update_Guide
Since I have the hardoce's kernel, I skipped this Installing the ClockworkMod Recovery - and moved on to - Flashing CyanogenMod.
I will go step by step from here.
Download the latest version of CyanogenMod.
Optional: Download the Google Apps for the device.
Place the CyanogenMod update.zip file on the root of the internal memory.
Optional: Place the Google Apps .zip on the root of the internal memory also.
Boot into the ClockworkMod Recovery.
Once the device boots into the ClockworkMod Recovery, use the side volume buttons to move around, and either the power button or the trackball to select.
Select the option to Wipe data/factory reset.
Then select the option to Wipe cache partition.
Select Install zip from sdcard.
done these, no problem so far.
[*]Select Choose zip from sdcard.
when I chose this, phone rebooted, it was so fast something may have come up and I didnt see.
Now I am stuck in a boot loop:
- Galaxy S I9000 samsung screen comes up, goes away for a second, comes up again.
- A page with code appearing from the bottom comes up really fast ( logo in the middle changes quickly) then it disappears.
- whole thing starts again.
UPDATE: I got a picture of the fast screen that comes up. : http://localhostr.com/files/b5NzFRy/2012-08-27 05.07.32.jpg
Some observations.
- I can go into download mode when opening it with the key combo.
- loop only stops when I unplug the battery
I need advice on what caused this and how to fix this, please help me.

are you not able to get into recovery? If only download than you need to get back to GB and than do a progressive update from GB to ICS to JB
Flash it again. From what I've heard, it only flashes the kernel the first time.
I had the same problem today with CM7 today. Just reboot in recovery and flash again cm zip, form there on everything is gonna run smooth!

I think this pb is very common
1) DON'T WORRY !
2) Unplug the battery when bootlooping
3) Put the SGS in Recovery Mode (the CWM's version has changed)
4) Select the CM .zip and flash it AGAIN
5) When it's done, reboot system
This time, everything shoot be OK
Just be carefull with your IMEI (always have a backup of EFS folder !)

Anyone have a trick yet for CM 10.1 v.22 Nightly, I keep getting a bootloop on all their versions except the original one. This is so frustrating because I have to keep going back to stock and then update to ICS.

Same here, after the Samsung and CM logos, and splash animation, it says :
"Encryption unsuccessful.
Encryption was interrupted and can't complete. As a result, the data on your phone is no longer accessible.
To resume using your phone, you must perform a factory reset...."
After I tap Reset phone, it goes to CWM recovery.
Do the factory reset and the same thing occured in loop.
I came from JVU and CF root.

How long should the first boot take after following these steps? And does it have to be from SDCARD, because I can't get the rom onto my sd card, I can only do it via usb otg cable

nightly cyanogen 10.2 rom is getting stuck installing

Hello,
I tried to update my galaxy s via the integrated update screen on cyanogen mod to todays nightly rom update but during the android install animation it got about a third through and then went into quick recovery screen data which i couldnt read and then rebooted but to my existing version...in other words it didnt install properly.
Can anyone guide me through how to get this to update properly?
Thanks

A few nightlies ago there was a bug in the integrated CM-updater...
Have you tested it with download the zip-file ,put it on your device and flash it via CWM-Recovery ??? That`s my favorite way ...

It should work ,but i know with some of CM10.2-nightlies there was a bug and pawitp (the dev) makes a warning not to use the inbuilt updater ...but i think with the last nightlies it should work ...my way is flashing over CWM with the zip-file and not "over the air" ...
Is there any error?

SOLVED
Thanks for your help.
I managed to flash via CWM and now everything is great - and it sorted out my earlier problems which included lack of mobile internet, constant rebooting when turning on and problems with receiving sms texts.
For all those people having similar problem - here are the easy steps to get the new nightly 10.2 rom up and running on your Galaxy S:
1) Download the latest zip file for nightly ROM and latest GAPPS zipp file onto your computer.
2) Connect your mobile to computer and turn on the storage function so that you can see your phone's storage option on my computer.
3) Copy your 2 zip files from above to your phone's storage as zip files without extracting.
4) unplug your phone from the PC, turn off and then go into CWM via volume down/home and power buttons.
5) Select install zip from SD Card and then you should see error message something like 'partition is incorrect/different and you need to wipe data - don't worry about this as you will keep all your apps, ringtones, pictures etc.
6) Install zip from SD card a second time - this should now start the install process. Install the GAPPS file once this is done.
7) Reboot and you should be faced with a Cyanogenmod registration page. Go through the completion process and then your ready to go.
8) check in about phone in your settings to see the latest update in your settings.
I hope this works for you all but as always...this is what worked for me on my Galaxy S and any mod is at your own risk and I wont accept any abuse.

Problem rooting P7310

As the title says, I have a problem rooting my friends Samsumg Galaxy Tab 8.9.
The model number is GT-P7310.
The Android version is 4.04 Stock (I don't know if stock means the original version, or just untampered with; I say stock because it hasn't been tampered/flashed/root/etc. We just updated it into 4.04 version).
The compilation number is IMM76D.XXLPV.
Total space is ~13GB.
The problem:
I've been browsing this subforum for the last hour, checking the "Root guides" (the main one has been discontinued -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1287205), searching for the problem, with no solid help or hint on what is the solution. I have an idea what needs to be done, I'll get to it:
I've downloaded the root_original.zip file and put it on the root folder, and even created a folder SDCARD and copied it into there.
When I get into recovery mode, it gives these options:
*reboot system now
*apply update from external storage
this gives an error (red) message "E:unknown volume for path [/sdcard] and the recovery mode only allows me to go back to the menu
*wipe data/factory reset
*wipe cache partition
*apply update from cache
I think the problem is either
* The Tablet simply doesnt have an sdcard (which makes sence, we looked for a hole for the SDCard and it doesn't have one, unless we need to take off the whole back of the tablet)
* We have to flash it using ODIN/etc, which the main thread doesnt really mentions anything about it.
I have flashed and rooted my Samsung GIO about a year ago so I can simply check for tips on that thread if I need, but I am wishing that we don't need to flash it.
Thanks for the help.

Stock recovery won't allow you to install the zip. First you need to use odin to flash a custom recovery...both twrp and cwm are available for you device.
For cwm:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1312218
For TWRP:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2602188
The links are the threads with the said recovery images. Download the one for the p7310 and flash via odin. Then reboot to recovery and flash the root.zip that you have on the sdcard.
Note that odin requires you to be in download mode. Hope this helps.
---------- Post added at 09:01 AM ---------- Previous post was at 08:58 AM ----------
And this tablet does not have an external sdcard....you're stuck with whatever internal memory thats included with the device, in your case 16gb but only 13gb or so is available to the user.

[TuT]How to install the needed CWM Recovery 6.0.8.2 on s5830i to install CM11

Ok, I see many of you have tried installing CM11 but with "Status 7" on the installing process
See this thread how to install CM11 http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-ace/s5830i-develop/rom-cyanogenmod-11-0-androidarmv6-t2805309
But I've figured out that many of you have not completely understand this process..
First let's install the Clockwork mod Recovery onto our phones:
1.Download this zip onto your SD card Click!
2.Boot into recovery (hold vol + vol- and power until the screen goes on)
3.In recovery select Apply update from SD card and select the Clowermod_Recovery_MTD.zip file and it will install it
4.Select Reboot system now in your stock recovery, or if you have temporary CWM recovery select advanced and Reboot Recovery...
5.Install the CM11 zip from your SD card through the CWM recovery
Second way for installing the CM11 without the bugs and that you can run your phone with SIM card and some bugs fixed also:
1.Follow this thread Click!
2.Go into Odin and put this file in your phone place without PDA and CSC Click!
3.Hit start and boot into stock ROM with that modem
4.Follow the above instructions
And that it is you phone is now running 4.4.4 Kit Kat
Addon:
If you have any trouble during the process (if you didn't go through the explanation very well, if you did there wont be any problems) do this process from this thread
Click!
I am not responsible for any damage done to your mobile phone!!
If you want you can donate to me for this only by clicking nothing else:

I wish you success !
rom link dead
the link to the cm11 rom doesnt work. I cannot find the cm11 rom for s5830i anywhere. Please help
Best Tutorial I've found! Works perfect. Thanks.
Windows 7 is the most recommended OS to do almost all work without any problem, So I recommend you to activate your existing OS being purchased its license code from ODosta Store
Which is distributing license for almost all types of Microsoft Products with good customer support. I personally use it and have a good experience.
You can upgrade your windows 7 or windows 8.1 pro to windows 10, But you can face some technical issues, So I recommend you to have clean installation of Windows 7, windows 8 or Windows 10 and activate it using legal license.

[ROM][ULB] CM-13.0 for Xperia T Beta

Hello and welcome to CM-13.0 Beta 1 !
first of all a BIG thank you to @Adrian DC wich had constributed also to this rom (he fixed the camera and helped me with the other stuffs )
Known bugs:
- sometimes the device will bootloop (only in starting phase )
USE THE FLASHABLE HOTFIX for that
- sometimes RIL may not start (on bootup)
if you encounter one of these bugs please press and hold vol+ and powerbutton to FORCE SHUTDOWN and then reboot again
Other "bug":
- selinux disabled until i patched it
Sourcecode can be found on my git:
github.com/sdtbarbarossa
How to install:
1. make sure your internal SDCard is formated to exfat (you can use Whiteneos TWRP to get that)
2. clean install the rom ( wipe cache & data & system ) [alternativeley dirtyflash.... but then dont report bugs!]
3. flash gapps (i use OPENGAPPS - ARM - 6.0 - PICO )
4. reboot
5. wait several times

Got that myself, it doesn't work with TWRP 3, you need an older version, i used TWRP 2.8.6.0
(fix) flash it with philz_touch_6.12.8
Q: how do you install supersu? It doen't work from google apps and I tried to flash it from TWRP and I got a bootloop
For me installation works with TWRP from 12.1 kernel. After creation of dalvik files it never ended with "apps are starting". Killed the device (Vol+ & Power) and got never ending boot animation... tried to reinstall. Now got "Operation not supported on transport endpoint". Restored "boot" from last 12.1 nand backup, rebooted to (that funny colored) revovery, wiped again, reinstalled (BTW open_gapps-arm-6.0-pico-20160403 in queue) and now..... hey, I get a PIN screen! Wifi & Google sign in works without problem. Developer options, root access, adb shell, seems alright for now - good night and many thanks to SdtBarbarossa!

From Xperia M I know it's very tricky or nearly impossible... For me the "onboard solution" for root access is okay. (did not try yet if it really works...)
Actually you are right, I didn't enable the root access from developer options the first time.. but it works and you don't need supersu
But I had no service and after a reboot it started to bootloop again..
bootloop after a reboot
Reinstalled again.. and after each app install I rebooted to see what might cause the bootloop
For me at least, it started to bootloop after I installed and gave root access to titanium backup.
1. the bootloop is a known bug lile i said ( it is that the mediaserver dont start for a unknown reason... depending on the random queue of loading librarys )
atm i prefere everyone to reboot not often x)
bootloops should be solvable by hardboot ( vol+ and powerbutton )
then there are 2 cases:
1.lib a gets loaded before lib b => it boots
2.lib b gets loaded before lib a => it loops
there is nothing how i can controll that atm
2. if you habe trouble flashing the rom please send me a log
3. guys can it be that the no service bug only appears on first boot?
Sent from my Xperia T using XDA Free mobile app
Here's an example logcat for a boot-loop. All boot loops I got were ending with that "Waiting for service media.audio_policy..."
BTW In my case has nothing to do with Titanium Backup, it seems to be random
I'll probably test the rom today. Keep up the good work SdtBarbarossa.

First impression's really good. Much snappier than 12.1 - expected. It was a little tricky to change the 'sdcard0' to vfat. As suggested I tried to do it with the 12.1-kernel-TWRP... first did a backup to ext-sd but after copying with TWRP-filemanager it crashed, automatically rebooted the 13-ROM, killed the dalvik and boot-looped At least sdcard0 data were transfered!
So restored kernel & data from nand backup and after successful boot, tried to format sdcard0, mentioned "corrupt" in settings-Storage&USB but ERROR occurred. So I tried with adb shell
Code:
newfs_msdos -F 32 /dev/block/mmcblk0p15
OR
Code:
mkfs.exfat /dev/block/mmcblk0p15
BOTH returned Errors (that's why I tried both) but can't remember which one was successful
In settings-Storage&USB still "corrupt", but after reboot (without problems) there was sdcard0 with 11 GB free - yeaaaah!
Pushed back all the Osmand Map Stuff and so on and now also
Camera does not complain any longer because of missing sdcard and takes photos.
GPS fix is fast and stable... That's all for now!
Ahh and yes, I can do phone calls & sms (aber das ist ja nebensächlich)
hi!
so tried last cm13 beta, thanks for your work first of all.
had same problems as @mankokoma trying to format the sdcard to vfat via WhiteNeos latest twrp (same problem I reported multiple times in the old thread if you remember), it simply does not work, sdcard stays in ext4.
then I did run the commands mankokoma suggested in adb and then I could see vfat for sdcard in twrp. but now in twrp sdcard is not accessible at all. it doesn't mount etc had to use usb otg to install cm13. and in twrp 3.0 provided with cm13, again sdcard is not accessible at all ;(
btw, I full wiped (system, cache, data and dalvik), and thanks to otg I installed cm13 beta. upon very first reboot, phone optimized all apps, but then got stuck at "Android is starting - Starting apps message" forever. I had to force shutdown and reboot, then it booted fine and could pass the wizard.
sim was detected fine.
but I see internal sdcard always damaged in settings. rebooted countless times, didn't fix the problem. and camera app FCs, probably because I don't have any sdcards available...
If I click on the sdcard damaged, and then configure and format, I get an error message, and it doesn't work.
so the rom is still not usable for me atm very sad because the rom seems very promising and so fast!
EDIT: settings do FC here when trying to enter developer settings so can't enable builtin root?!
seems that your issues are all because of the sdcard not formated to exfat... you can "revive" it by formatting to ext4 but then you can only use it in twrp... try again to format it to exfat

yes but how?? please tell me how to do that... in twrp 3.0 it keeps giving errors...
and by the way in twrp I see file system for sdcard is already vfat now! :silly:
nvm! trying again and again in twrp I always got error messages but now in settings it seems it is recognized! great! and camera started to work now will test it wonderful!
ps: FC in developer settings is still there... how did you get root? with supersu?
EDIT: and recording videos does not seem to work?
