A few months ago, I compiled and flashed the Android M developer preview images for Sony Xperia Z3 Compact. Now, I want to go back to the stock version of the OS, but I can't find the resources to do so! Does Sony make an image available that I could just flash? Anything?
Wouldn't you just flash the 4.4 - 5.1.1 (whatever version you prefer) of the Z3 Compact FW using Flashtool?
you could try to 'repair' your phone with pc companion,
or as mnguyen127 suggested, download flashtool and use it to flash a stock rom [either from xperifirm which is now embedded in flashtool or by downloading one of the firmwares here ]

After releasing ROM update, there’s some people asking about DoCoMo ROM and how to flash ROM version 10.1.D.0.343 with root for locked bootloader. This won’t be a problem for people using custom kernel with recovery support as they can flash root in recovery. However, it’s impossible to get 10.1.D.0.343 rooted with locked bootloader through normal FlashTool methods so here I’m proposing solution for all Xperia Z DoCoMo lovers here.
This package contains three files. One for Flashtool file having system partition and wiping removed. Two for files in system partition of ROM version 10.1.D.0.343 having identical files removed. Three for optional wifi fix for people using DooMKernel as WiFi driver is different to ones in DoCoMo ROM.
Requirements:
1. Working Xperia Z having DoCoMo ROM version 10.1.D.0.333 flashed
2. Rooted
3. CWM/TWRP Recovery support
4. Latest FlashTool for Xperia Z
5. DoCoMo ROM version 10.1.D.0.333 Flashtool file in case you’re screwed up
Installations:
1. Copy xperia_z_docomo_10.1.D.0.343_update.zip to storage. If you’re using DooMKernel, copy xperia_z_docomo_doomlord_wifi_fix.zip as well
2. Shutdown and startup to Recovery menu
3. Flash copied files in 1) respectively.
4. Clear dalvik cache (not cache)
5. Turn off your phone
6. Open Flashtool and flash SO-02E_10.1.D.0.343_update.ftf file. Make sure to exclude baseband if you don’t use Japanese model and KERNEL/FOTA if you’re using DooMKernel.
7. Reboot. Now you should see phone starting up with ROM version 10.1.D.0.343 with root and recovery

Thank you so much!
Can you send me the latest version root for firmware .333 before I upgrade firmware .343?
And I don't use DooMKernel, can you send me the last compatible DooMKernel with my SO-02E firmware .333? How do I do with the new kernel?
I recommend flashing SuperSu v1.25 or newer after rooting. For kernel, just flash v06. It's from global ROM but I made wifi fix so that it can be used with DoCoMo now.

My bad. I made huge mistake forgetting to remove clearing system partition line in WiFi fix. Now it's fixed.
ZL?
does this one works on xperiaZL C6503?
i want docomo system coz im using docomo sim card. but my phone is rooted, chenged roms... lol pls help~~ ^^
My SO-02E is always stuck on the Sony logo after trying this update, I've already tried flashing the zip file with TWRP and CWM, not wiping cache and not excluding any file in Flashtool.
Hi,
I'm using the Japanese model (SO-02E from Docomo). My phone is already rooted and has TWRP recovery.
I just want to confirm that I do NOT exclude anything when using Flashtool, am I correct?

Me too, has anyone successfully got this working?
I did the following:
1. installed xperia_z_docomo_10.1.D.0.343_update.zip via TWRP
2. cleared the dalvik cache
3. flash SO-02E_10.1.D.0.343_update.ftf
All I get is a Sony logo
I have the 10.1.D.0.333.ftf and a nandroid backup so I can restore my backup
I think the xperia_z_docomo_10.1.D.0.343_update.zip is borked. I tried everything and it doesn't work
Yep, I've also tried using OTA Root Keeper but then the official update will have errors, so my SO-02E is stuck at 333.
Honestly there's really nothing from the Docomo ROM that I neither need nor use so I'll test out 10.1.1.A.1.253 explained from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2282415 sometime this weekend.
I already have my nandroid and Ti backups and the 10.1.D.0.333.ftf in case I want (or need) to revert back.
I can't really find info about it (or I completely failed to find the obvious :s)
I have a Docomo Xperia Z with (unfortunately) a locked bootloader.
It got updated to .343 by my docomo shop when I sent it in for repairs... And I lost root in the process.
Could I downgrade it back to .333 by using flashtool? So I can root it, and then upgrade it to .343 with this trick?
Or is that a bad idea with a Docomo phone? Wouldn't want to brick it.

You can easily downgrade back to .333 using flashtool, root it then do whatever.
Personally I'm using the eXistanZ V3 ROM on my docomo XZ :good:

check out my thread on how to upgrade to stock .343 w/root.
You'll have to downgrade back to .333 using flashtool, root it and install XZDualRecovery. From there just use my files and you'll be on a stock .343 w/root and XZDualRecovery. I've tested this on my SO-02E and it works. You won't lose any data and apps when upgrading.
hello fellow docomo so-02e users, for those of you that is using roms other than docomo ones, did you get your nfc to work?

is it possible to flash a custom recovery and kernel in a docomo xperia z?
hello
is there any way for have official update after rooting without flashing the rom ?
is there anyway to unRoot Xperia SP ?
Thanks
You can unroot your phone flashing a stock ftf file via flashtool.
As about updates, many members here upload ftf files once released, so waiting for Sony to release the update on your country, from the moment you can flash the ftf file some hours after the release, is kind of useless l (just my opinion mate).

Custom kernel lets you get the whole control of your device. You can use it for better battery life, overclock etc. All custom kernels in order to be installed, you have to have unlocked bootloader.
But, when you unlock the bootloader you void your warranty, you loose bravia engine and you can't update using Sony pc companion.
You can still though relock your bootloader by flashing via flashtool a ftf file that you can find on development section.
If you want to relock your bootloader, I suggest you to download an ftf file of the update and flash it and after that flash the ftf file in order to relock bootloader.
Flashtool is an app for pc that lets you install ftf files.
Ftf is the extension of the update that Sony releases.
so what exactly is a (the) tft file?
and how can i upgrade the phone?
is it also possible to use new android 4.2.2 (from sdk) like google nexus?
sorry but i dont know anything about original software from sony, always had custom rom on my lg ^^

No, you can't use LG files because it's not compatible with your device mate.
Ftf files are the format of the stock file. When users download an update from pc companion, they create a file so other members can use it even if in their country the update is not released.
You can check how to use flashtool on YouTube. With flashtool you can install ftf files.
i already used flashtool but i just didnt know for what and i just used it to install the xperia Z drivers (dont know why i had to use them for my c5303, others didnt work)
i used this kernel forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=42642971 and flashed via fastboot (just oldschool and how it worked ever on my old lg ^^)
by the way: it was a .elf file, not tft i think ^^
okay i hope i got it now. it is for: - samsung devices (only) and - necessary for using the original rom?!
but the last questions:
which kernel do i have to download to update? (german)
and: do i have to save the data? (dont have CWM on this phone, but titanium Backup)
sry for the dumb questions, but this is all so complicated for this **** phone (i hate it, but lucky it is not mine)
Offtopic:
for my lg i installed fastboot, download CWMrec, downloaded a custom rom, rooted, installed everythink, all done nicely :victory:
for the nexus 7 it was even more simply. used a nexus program, type a few numbers, all done
for this phone i had to install like a bunch of programms, had big problem with drivers, read dozens of sites (the technical one are not so easy for a german guy ^^), had to register imei, unlock bootloader and so on... very much crap for a 350€ phone... with old android 4.1.2
I really don't think you should be messing with unlocking bootloaders and playing with the kernel if you don't even know what it's for.

Hi, I just recently switched to the gnex. to the xperia z, and the last xperia i had was the x10. I vaguly remember flashtool and what not. but the weird part is I have the C6616.. so idk how to upgrade it and be able to flash new roms. I have a locked bootloader and it can't be unlocked. I'm on 4.1.2 10.1.1.A.1.319 rn, is there anyway to update, root again, and then flash a rom (trying to get http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z/development/rom-existenz-v5-0-0-ultra-edition-10-4-t2349656 )
can I just flash any ftf or does it have to be for c6616.. can it be c6603?
Hi.
I'm from Portugal. My operator is MEO. I have an SP model C5303 with android 4.1.2 - 12.0.A.2.254. It´s rooted and it has CWM-based recovery v6.0.3.2 installed.
Received a notification update to oficial 12.1.A.1.205.
Is it safe to update? Is it possible to root the new version?
Thanks

After rooting Never recieve any OTA (Over the Air) update from SONY or Carrier as it will brick your device!
If you want to port to official 4.3 JB .205 Firmware then you should do it via Flashtool. Download your stock .FTF file and flash it via Flashtool.
Warning - While flashing your all data will be lost so it is advised to make a nandroid backup before proceeding!
Did I help! If yes then hit thanks

This thread is for firmware 12.1.A.205 root it with one click
And yeah you will loose your root access but if you're on UBL (Unlocked bootloader) it will stay that way only (your bootloader status will stay unlocked but root access would be lost after flashing the stock kerne)
Press thanks if I helped
I flashed the wrong firmware on my xperia c6606 and now it is softbricked. I was looking the official firmware for the c6606. The firmware I had was the 10.4.C.0.814, and I cant find it in any of the forums on xda unless its in a zip format.
