Let me start by saying I cannot get S-off without Sunshine because I am on hboot 1.61. I don't really need S-off just yet.
I do wish to unlock my sim though. I talked to Sprint and got my MSL and DSU which was surprisingly painless. I actually accomplished this through the Live chat on their website. My problem is this: When I put in a domestic sim other than the Sprint SIM I get an error saying it is an incompatible SIM card. I was expecting a prompt to put in the DSU as shown on many tutorials. I have tried this with my Nandroid backup (made just after bootloader unlocking) of the last RUU from sprint. I have also tried inserting a different SIM while on CM, Team Nocturnal's GE, and NuSenSeven. Even though I knew it will only work on a stock rom.
I have gone into EPST and verified the MSL is good. I was thinking maybe there is a secret menu I haven't tried. I have also only tried an AT&T sim as of today. I will be receiving a Google Fi SIM in a few weeks but I am unsure if that will prompt me either.
Does anyone have any advice on the subject? This would be useful info for anyone that is not willing to S-OFF or even flash a custom ROM at all really.

Hi,
I have HTC one on Three UK network. I took Sim network unlock code from 3 different paid servers, All have given same code but code does not work. It says Sim Password incorrect. Spoken to supplier and he said it is some bug in new android system. Can anyone explain me how to fix this. I appreciate that.
I already 3 tried another source and checked imei etc.

Are you on a custom CID ? On a custom ROM? If yes, change them back to the original and it'll work.

This is purely anecdotal but the phone I had before this was the s2 LTE model on AT&T, when they gave me the code it kept saying it was unsuccessful until I ran out of attempts. However when I actually put in a t-mobile sim card it worked fine and it was fully unlocked. Maybe try that?

You do know that to unlock the phone you need a SIM card from a different company inside the phone so that it asks for Network Unlock Code... SIM Lock is not the same...

Obviously phone is asking for sim network unlock code when we put non accepted sim card. So phone is not unlocked. We do quite a lot unlocking and few phones get this error, we have to refund customer but I am seeking solution for it. It is only in Android phones (HTC and Samsung).. Samsung's we usually unlock using unlocking boxes but HTC One is not supported other than code. (Setool support older HBOOT).
I've read a lot of forum topics and checked many unlocking sites, but I can't find a solution to sim unlock my phone. At first I tried at my provider (Telenor Hu), but they asked too much money for it.
I checked the unlocking sites, but the majority says that they can't unlock phones from Hungarian providers (because they change the factory unlock codes I think).
My phone data:
M7_UL S-OFF HBOOT 1.57, rooted, supercid is set and with Sense 6 InsertCoin ROM (6.09.401.11)
Do you know any solutions I should try?
I read about a small circuitry which is placed under the sim card to trick to phone into thinking the card belongs to the locked provider. Have you heard about a working solution like this one?
Thanks in advance: Bandesz
I have a GPE converted, S-OFF M7, which I tried to sim unlock after getting the official unlock code from AT&T. The code didn't work, so I then:
changed the CID back to CWS__001
flashed a stock AT&T RUU
I still get an "Incorrect password" message when putting in the PIN after putting in a T-Mobile SIM card.
I just made my device S-ON again, but it still doesn't work. AT&T tech support is stumped and doesn't know what else they can do.
Next steps I'm going to try is locking the bootloader, but I don't know how helpful that will be.
I've also tried a method to SIM unlock using a Config.dat file and loaded through a USB OTG cable and flash drive in the bootloader. However, I get an "SD card init fail" message.
Any help would be seriously appreciated.

Do not relock your bootloader whatever you do. Go back to s-off then look here https://www.sieempi.ro/blog/2011/09/22/universal-sim-unlock-for-s-offed-htc-devices-536

I tried this, and I get an "sd init fail" message when trying to do that. Any ideas on how to troubleshoot that? I'm using a powered USB OTG cable with a flash drive in FAT format.
I paid for the S-Off with Sunshine which was by far the easiest route I've had. But now he is were it gets difficult. I contacted straight talk to use my phone and they said it was possible and is currently active. The only thing is...I cannot use it as a phone. They said "sprint has it locked" so I searched and got S-Off, the CID is 11111111, from what I read that should make it possible to work. It still doesn't, and I know it has CDMA but also a SIM card slot which I thought was odd but I still cannot use a different SIM. I looked into a SIM unlock and found something about "am start com.redbend" command and it says it doesn't exist. I don't really understand all this but I read every instruction before I perform it. Now is my phone still just a mini-tablet? Or is there a way to actually use a straght talk SIM card since the phone has the option to use one, or did I just waste 85$ for the whole process of getting nothing done?
i have the same problem i bought a HTC M7 sprint unlocked everything was fine i can use other sim from my country but then
i bricked it trying to RUU diferents roms and S-ON by mistake ( playing wit the toolkit)
now i pay and i have s-off again but i have problem with the SIM when i briked i the bootloader options there is a locksim option i think that i I gave that option
then i have the last RUU i think that would fix everything but i didnt i can not use my sim again another problem is that i notice that i can use wifi
bt nfc but in opction it show the airplane optcion in gray saying turning of is stucked i can turn it on but when i turn it off again it stuck in turning off
i can not use the phone option
i saw a topic that says that i could flash a rom for GSM when i am CDMA but i try to flash 5.0.2 firmware but it didnt work too i still have the same problem and also flash my actual radio too but the same
ps: sorry for my english i am not a native speaker
after you s-off your phone, flash hboot_hexed and downgrade your m7 to 4.1.2 so you can do the "am start com.redbend" command.
Sprint_HTC_One_m7wls_1.29.651.10_RUU.zip is the 4.1.2 rom. after you flash hboot_hexed for sprint m7, you can proceed in downgrading your phone.
Been fiddling with this all day. HTC One M7 from Rogers needs to work with other carriers. Bricked itself a year ago during a system update, put SlimRom 4.4 on it and that's been fine until now. I get asked for an unlock code when I put in the new SIM, I bought one and it won't accept it (Phone has been rooted and reflashed, assuming this is why).
I backed everything up. ADB and such is working. I have an Android 4.4 Rogers RUU that I am assuming will let me unlock the SIM once installed. Also assuming S-Off required to install RUU, and attempting to get S-Off. I tried installing Sunshine (by pushing the APK) and Sunshine opens but says I need a more stock-like ROM for it to work. I'm okay with the $25 or whatever it costs, if it works. I installed htc1guru's Rogers nandroid backup in hopes of it being stock enough for Sunshine or a SIM Unlock. Touch Screen no longer works. I can get an OTG Cable tomorrow and attempt to SIM Unlock or Sunshine, if that is the problem.
Am I doing this right?

Can you please post the output of "fastboot getvar all" (remove your imei and serialno before posting). Your touchscreen issue is for sure caused by flashing a guru reset version way much older than your firmware version (btw what was the guru reset version used)?
