I've read a lot of forum topics and checked many unlocking sites, but I can't find a solution to sim unlock my phone. At first I tried at my provider (Telenor Hu), but they asked too much money for it.
I checked the unlocking sites, but the majority says that they can't unlock phones from Hungarian providers (because they change the factory unlock codes I think).
My phone data:
M7_UL S-OFF HBOOT 1.57, rooted, supercid is set and with Sense 6 InsertCoin ROM (6.09.401.11)
Do you know any solutions I should try?
I read about a small circuitry which is placed under the sim card to trick to phone into thinking the card belongs to the locked provider. Have you heard about a working solution like this one?
Thanks in advance: Bandesz

If you got your phone from a carrier i.e. with a contract it is most likely locked to that carrier.
SIM lock means that you can only use SIM cards from the carrier you are locked to. If you SIM unlock your phone you will be able to use sim cards from other carriers or pay as you go plans without receiving the invalid sim message.
CID Lock means that your phones software is locked to your carrier. This means that you can only flash updates from that carrier. No custom flashing, no cross carrier flashing. Before you flash anything from this forum you will most likely need to be CID unlocked. Read the stickies to find out how to do this. Make sure you follow all the steps. The process works.
If you have not personally CID unlocked your device you must assume you ARE CID LOCKED. Even if someone before you unlocked your device it will not hurt to do it again. If you have any problems flashing your device this is the first question back that you will get when you ask for help.
god dammit. there is a wiki and nooooooo one reads it.

Great advice and gently put....!
Asking questions is ok but do your research 1st! 90% of what you need to know has already been discussed, so the answers are here. If you don't find an answer, by all means ask...it is a forum.

thanks for your help Zzan now i have understood the CID unlocking stuff
Hello!
I currently have an unlocked phone with S-ON. I know it's quite difficult to get the SIM Unlocked so it would work on other networks without S-OFF, so I have decided to get S-OFF just to get the SIM unlocked.
Before I spend 25 dollars on the Sunshine app, could somebody please direct me to the correct thread? I see a lot of threads here about how to get it unlocked with S-ON, and with a lot of different types. I've tried one, it didn't work so I'm not going to try the others.
I would like to be directed to a thread with a proven / repeated method that works for Sprint m8 with S-OFF.
Thank you. I really appreciate the help and I do apologize since I'm sure this was asked before but I feel rather lost with all these threads. I'm not sure which one is the one that works.
Go check out the General forum. There are SIM unlock methods there that do not require S-off.
Let me start by saying I cannot get S-off without Sunshine because I am on hboot 1.61. I don't really need S-off just yet.
I do wish to unlock my sim though. I talked to Sprint and got my MSL and DSU which was surprisingly painless. I actually accomplished this through the Live chat on their website. My problem is this: When I put in a domestic sim other than the Sprint SIM I get an error saying it is an incompatible SIM card. I was expecting a prompt to put in the DSU as shown on many tutorials. I have tried this with my Nandroid backup (made just after bootloader unlocking) of the last RUU from sprint. I have also tried inserting a different SIM while on CM, Team Nocturnal's GE, and NuSenSeven. Even though I knew it will only work on a stock rom.
I have gone into EPST and verified the MSL is good. I was thinking maybe there is a secret menu I haven't tried. I have also only tried an AT&T sim as of today. I will be receiving a Google Fi SIM in a few weeks but I am unsure if that will prompt me either.
Does anyone have any advice on the subject? This would be useful info for anyone that is not willing to S-OFF or even flash a custom ROM at all really.
So I've found a HTC One M7 in the park about 2 weeks ago that was blocked on O2 - I live in England - so I bought a code and unlocked it to work on all the networks, however, it won't read the sim card even if I manually choose the network - it says that my sim card cannot be registered on that network and I'm also having no signal. So I thought that the person who lost it went to O2 and O2 blocked it. So, here comes my question - how can I unblock it so that it can read my SIM card, or, I don't know, register it? Thanks in advance! By the way, I unlocked it's Bootloader, I rooted it, and I installed a Custom Recovery, but I couldn't S-off it cause it is running HBOOT 1.61 with Stock Android Lollipop 5.0.2.
Hello all,
I have a UK HTC Mini 2 locked on EE, I would like to remove the simlock and as such I have purchased a code to do so from ebay. However, the code does not work, I have verified with the seller and he says it is correct so I assume it has something to do with me installing CM 12.1 (NostomoPop).
My phone is S-On, Bootloader unlocked, could somebody advise me how I could unlock the phone please??
Thanks :good:

The unlock works only on SENSE ROMs, so you can't unlock it on CM, AOSP or GPE ROMs. Even after you have unlocked you won't have network in non-sense ROMs.

I'm sorry to come to this thread so late but I've only just seen it. I hope you have already solved your problem but just in case here is my experience.
I have a One Mini 2 which was bought from eBay locked to Vodaphone. I bought a SIM unlock code online and had the same problem, i.e. the code did not work.
Stupidly I had cut down my mini SIM card to a micro card using a template I found online and this turned out to be the problem. I ordered a new SIM card from Giffgaff (their cards now come as a 3-format card which you cna just pop out to the correct size) and, after doing a SIM swap on-line to the new card number, put the new card in and entered the number as supplied. It worked perfectly.
I had already unlocked the bootloader and installed TWRP while waiting for the new card to arrive.
I have installed several different roms, CM12, Carbon, AOSP, Nostromopop (by far the best!), reverted back to stock, gained S-OFF with Sunshine, reloaded full stock from RUU, reinstalled TWRP, reinstalled latest Nostromopop, SuperSU, and on and on and on. I've never lost mobile network since I put in the new SIM card and entered the number I was given originally to unlock it.
So just in case you are still having problems, that was my solution: get a new SIM card!
Good luck
Hi ajlajluk,
I am in the same position as you were - HTC one mini 2 simlocked to vodafone, tried online unlock codes with no luck. I have a giffgaff simcard and cannot get it working, can you elaborate more on exactly what you did to get the unlock code working?
"after doing a SIM swap on-line to the new card number, put the new card in and entered the number as supplied. It worked perfectly"
How do you mean sim swap? tranfered numbers?
Im not having much luck when attempting to flash a stock rom and Sunshine doesnt like the CM11/CM12 roms when I tried to S-OFF (to change CID).
Any advice massively appreciated
