How the heck do I install Xposed on 5.0.2? - Xperia Z1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Info:
- Xperia Z1 C6906
- Stock ROM 5.0.2 (14.5.A.0.270 Customized US)
- Odex, Rooted, XZDualRecovery, SuperSU
I want to install Xposed, but I am having a hard time figuring out how to do it and not cause issues like bootloops and having to wipe dalvik/cache at every boot.
I know I need to flash Xposed framework v69 for ARM in recovery from the Official Xposed thread.
Do I install the Xposed Installer APK first, then flash the framework? Are there other steps to this?
Any help is appreciated. I'm at a loss on how to do this properly.

Flash " xposed-v69-sdk21-arm.zip " First > Reboot > Waiting Upgrade Optimization > Install "Xposed Installer APK" > Done

Stock Rom with Xposed?

I just wanted to know can i use xposed on stock lenovo A606 rom? Do i need a custom recovery to flash the xposed uninstaller?
Anyone? Will I get bootloop if i use xposed on it? Android 4.4.2, someone please tell me.
Anyone? I dont want to get bootloop
Anyone? Anyone? Anyone know how to search?
Of course I did search.. I couldnt get the answer so i needed the help from XDA.
Why do you want to flash the framework? You are on Android 4.4.2. Xposed framework can be installed by using the Xposed Installer v2.7 experimental1 from the Xposed repo. Flashing the framework through recovery is only required if you have Android Lollipop (5.x) or above running.
I mean if i got something bad and needed to flash the xposed uninstaller. Do i need a custom recovery to do that or a stock recovery is able to do so?
There is no uninstaller.zip file for Android below 5.0. You can disable the Xposed files through recovery. The best idea would be to make a backup of your complete system before installing Xposed, so you can restore your system in case something went wrong during installation.
Yeah.. That's what i mean. Flashing the Xposed-Disable-Recovery.zip in recovery. Can i flash it using stock recovery or i have to use a custom recovery?
You need a custom recovery, stock recovery will very likely not work.
The uninstaller.zip is for devices with Android Lollipop. For your device with Android 4.4.2 there is no flashable uninstaller/disabler. You have to disable the Xposed files manually (pretty time-consuming) through recovery or restore your backup (by far the easiest way).
what about the Xposed-Disabler-Recovery.zip attached at the first post on here?

Thanks man! You know which file i'm talking about?
Ah, this file. Well, this file will also be stored on your device when you install Xposed. I didn't know it was called the Xposed-Disabler. This file you have to manually copy (as described in the first post of the linked Xposed thread) to /system/bin/app_process in case you are facing a bootloop or flashing it via recovery. A custom recovery is recommended, as stock recoveries usually don't have advanced options available which are required.
Nevertheless, doing a complete system backup before installing Xposed is highly recommended.
Thanks man! I just get the CWM recovery. Will try it tonight thanks!

To make Xposed Framework work you need to disable Resource Hooks in Settings and reboot.

No, with latest version (>85) you don't need to disable resource hooks

How to completely remove Xposed Framework

Hi!
Before installing Xposed I was rooted in my OP5 with Magisk and SafetyNet was OK, then installed Xposed Framework (official one, not systemless) to check a module but then flashed xposed uninstaller zip to remove it but Safety fails (also desinstalled xposed installer), also dirty flashed full rom, flashed magisk again, but still fails.
How to completely remove Xposed Framework?
Thanks everyone!
Try to wipe system partition into recovery and after - install new rom.

Xposed for Android 8- help needed

Hello guys I recently rooted my xz premium dual sim and I currently have Magisk 22.1, I'm not an expert so
I need help please, what are a proper direct way to get xposed working properly on Android 8.0 ROM?
I mainly need to install XPrivacy, I tried to install EDXposed but it failed though and I'm not sure what to do
Thanks in advance
Since you need to install this with Magisk, do this:
Donwload the attached files
be sure to install the Xposed Magisk apk file first and open it it will show, thats it's not installed
then go to magisk and flash the xposed framework zip
and reboot
then (after your device is completely started with magisk and xposed) go to magisk, and check if the module's enabled. If it's NOT enabled, flash the zip again. If it's enabled, open xposed installer and check. (it's still not fully installed) and then there comes a message, that it's installed, but not really.
For the last step you need a custom recovery (like twrp or something)
Boot into your custom recovery and flash the xposed zip there (again)
Reboot and enjoy.
Another (way simpler) method would be to download it from magisk manager (if you have a older version) online repo.
I attached the Magisk version (with working repo)
In case xposed is installed but remains not active (yellow triangle instead of a green checkmark in the xposed installer app) follow the instructions of post #2 and don't worry you don't have to be an expert for this fix its fairly easy
Magisk + Xposed Framework is installed, but not active (XposedBridge.jar lacking)
Hi, new member here, who happened to lurk into XDA a few times in the past, and finally decided to register, hoping finding someone that would be able to help with my problem. I have Nexus 7 (2012), which became unusable with Android Lollipop...
