He wasn't asking about the Note nor a Lollipop to Kit Kat comparison.

+1 on that
Since Gingerbread update i have been getting at least 10 hours of pretty heavy use (web browsing over 3g and bluetooth music and) first day with only a few apps loaded i got almost 20 hours on one charge 3g bluetooth off and just wifi.

Well, to be fully honest, now that i've upgraded to Gingerbread for Sprint Galaxy Tab, the battery is much weaker? i charged up in the morning, used a little wifi, and a little brosing, it was down to 85% in just 3 hours? may be its just me
Thats how i was before gingerbread. My tab last all day now with gingerbread.

Hi Kosh..I read a lot about your post and threat. Seems you are well known in XDA now. Nice
Anyway, about your question. I'm using stock rom and to be honest before I upgrade to GB, I only have 4 to 5 hour of heavy use. BUT after GB, now I an have nearly 8 to 9 hours with 3g and bluetooth (headset) on .

Samsung galaxy note 3 is a big mess.

I loved my note 2 but I was expecting note 3 to make me more happier, first the boot loader is locked which has already pissed me off. Then so many other issues google map voice was on s voice then it got fixed now WiFi is not working properly then as a business man I need my phone to ring whenever someone needs my service but when it is in my pocket for whatever reason it goes on silence mode and so many other things that is giving me enough reasons to sell it and buy note 2.
Just wanted to share my experience here. The phone is fast but I would still prefer note 2

I thought about going back to a note 2 also when I fist got the ATT note 3. What you should really do is sell your ATT note 3 and buy yourself a T-Mobile note 3, then root, unlock using chain fires region unlock (3 bucks) throw your ATT sim in the tmo phone, change your APN's to ATT and flash what ever you want. This phone has been rock solid for me in every way since I switched to a tmo phone on ATT network.

I'm just sick of "android os" keeping my phone awake 5-6 hours and completely killing my battery in 11..When it's not being used
sEnt from thE noTe 3
Well something is running in the background then (besides android os) cause my battery last's almost 24hrs with 3hrs of screen time and heavy benchmarking.

I agree. When my Note 3 isn't being used, the battery depletes at just 1-2% per hour. That's stock/unrooted, nothing done about bloatware, WiFi and GPS enabled, no power-saving modes used.

I agree. Mine used to be that nice. I can not figure out what's going on. I've uninstalled just about everything..it seems to happen when my signal is weak but android os is strange way to report it. Plus my signal has always been weak at work but this android os/battery drain is only about a week old. It started when I rooted using kingo.
Something during that process or something they have hidden is killing my phone...I'm on m19 so not possible to return to stock.

You should try putting it in airplane mode for a while (when your not expecting any important calls or texts) and see if the drain remains. Or else unroot and do a factory reset.

Gsam, better battery stats, wakelock detector, carat. It seems to be when my signal is weak. I'm good right now but I'm on wifi/lte. When I get back to work..it drops.
Being on build m19 I was under the impression that I couldn't unroot and factory reset..I've read I couldn't return to stock. Maybe I'm mistaken.

You are so right bro, this would be a good lesson for me to wait little longer and not buy a phone which can not be optimized the way I like it.
Nexus 5 and back to note 2,would be my options but I am also thinking about s5 which is around the corner.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using xda app-developers app
I have times when the battery drains faster than others and I'm pretty sure it's because the phone is switching between 3g and lte constantly while at work where the lte signal is weak. When I'm away from work battery drainage is just fine. Do you have a weak lte signal making the device constantly switch frequencies?

Yeah, that's pretty extreme. My battery's been discharging for almost 3 hours, and my Android OS shows 15% usage, CPU total 5m29s, Data sent 24.90KB, Data received 337KB. Stay Awake isn't even listed for it.
Will the tmobile running on at&t get LTE?

I wouldn't wait on the s5, unless it's with another carrier. It's going to be locked down just like the note 3. Heck pretty soon we won't need an AT&T section on xda anymore.

Well I wouldn't buy the Att version if it is gonna be locked like note 3 , hell no.
I am gonna wait for s5 to come out and pay the full price and forget about Att. I agree with you there would no Att section on xda since Att sucks. It pisses me off to check the other carriers note 3 section and how they enjoy customizing it and here we are stuck on att 's B.....SH.....T

Battery Improved Dramatically

Installed the latest firmware for the Gear, light use for about 8 hours today (about 20 notifications on vibrate) plus a 30 second phone call, battery shows 99%.
mk7? I've only ever used it so no idea what the battery was like before that!
Sent from my GT-N7100 using Tapatalk
Wow that's amazing. Only 1 percent in 8hrs? It usually takes me about 30-40 percent. Im on mkv7 version also

Sorry that cant be right
1% over that period
I believe it. If he only got 20 notifications. I imagine the screen would only have been on a few minutes in total..
Sent from my GT-N7100 using Tapatalk
I finished the day with 79% left (18 hours); received about 100 notifications in total (vibrares and screen comes on for a couple of seconds), couple of phonecalls, checked the time quite often. Could be a fluke, but will keep an eye on it for the next couple of days.
Sent from my GT-N5110 using xda app-developers app
I also believe it. I've made it through a full day with most common notifications active with light to moderate use and ended the day with 85%

One thing I have found useful is to check the screen on time in the battery stats to compare usage better. On my phone if I only have the screen on 2-5 minutes all day, even with getting lots of notifications battery life is a lot better.
I believe that the gear will display 99% battery at the end of day 1 but is certainly not accurate - if it were, the battery would last 100 days! My gear also shows 99% at the end of day 1 but after this declines more rapidly - can usually get around 3 days out of it in total

Stock gear with latest firmware, at the end of my 14 day trial. I typically get 3 days battery use, with constant BT on. I set it to update weather every 3 hours. 20 notifications plus 7 calls a day with vibrate or low sound. Don't use many of the apps. Was going to return it to ATT today, until I stumbled on the Gear forums. Now I gotta root and flash

Battery isn't where it should be!

I just got my note3 on Friday and right out of the box the battery seemed way better than my s3. But after 2 days of using it stock and battery life seemed a little low at 3 1/2 hours screen time, I decided to root it and debloat all at&t and Samsung junk and battery doesn't seem to be much better even with greenify and power save on. Does anyone have suggestions to make the battery life closer to 6 hours screen time like I've been reading everywhere.?

My battery got to about 6 hours screen on time after I installed dynamic rom. The best I had was just over 6 hours screen on with a total up time of 1 and a half days.
Edit: currently I'm at 22% after 15.5 hours with 5 hours and 45 minutes screen on time.
I don't want to get to far away from stock. I just want to have "normal" battery life. I checked a few reviews out and almost all of them said they had over 6 hours screen time.

I would say it may be doable stock but it seems pretty optimistic to me. I guess you could turn brightness all the way down and turn on battery saver and other things but that makes the phone a bit harder to use and less enjoyable imo
Yea that's true I'll just wait for my zerolemon to get here :good:

Att Kitkat Battery Life?!

I have a completely stock att flex with the kitkat update. I saw in the notes that there is supposed to be increased battery performance but mine is HORRIBLE. Woke up at 8 this morning and am at 55% by 430. I haven't used it much at all either. Any thoughts or anyone else notice a decrease?
Sent from my LG-D950 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Not so with mine, but i want to day I've read one or two others mention it. After the update I factory reset my phone. Time consuming, don't know if it will add any benefit, but I would suggest it as a possible next step before calling AT&T.
