Enquery of Proper Custom rom with good battery life - G 2014 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I tried CM 12.1 on my moto g 2nd gen XT1068 but the battery life was pathetic. So I got back to stock 5.0.2 . Please suggest me a better rom with good battery life like the stock rom and with great customisation. Many rooms are available now a days calling themselves stable but they r based on CM. very confusing. need help.

I have the same doubt, my last two roms was quantum os and pac rom. Quantum is closed, pac Rom have no updates since 19 July. :\
The rom is great, but if someone knows a better than this one, please tell me.
Enviado do meu Moto G 2014 através de Tapatalk

TeamEOS, SOKP, AICP, Mokee, BlissPop, Team Radium, Resurrection Remix these rooms are based On CM and Tesla, infinitive OS these rooms are based on Slim Rom. These all are demanding to be stable roms. But CM itself is nightly release for Titan. Need help to clarify the confusion. please suggest me a rom with good battery optimisation like the default stock rom. That would be very helpful. Thank you.

I've been regularly having more than 4.5hours screen time with blisspop, and I know I could stretch that to 6 with my use. I don't play games and mostly use XDA, reddit, voat, and chrome.

Today I've downloaded Resurrection Remix, BlissPop and AOSP. Which one should I use in your opinion while battery life is concerned?

I am currently on Resurrection Remix and I must say that the battery life isnt bad its pretty must the same as on a stock rom. I know you said its cm based but give it a go and see, also try to follow some guides with kernel adiutor for better battery performance and when testing it try it for at least 3 days, i dont know why but the first day never gives me good battery results.

People seem to like the ROM in my signature. Although it's never going to be marked stable or be more than a nightly.

Have a look here in the second post: recommended settings for stellar kernel
http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g-2014/development/stock-stellarkernel-v1-t3085277
my advice is you should try the stellar kernel with titan prime v1.1.1, based on stock and very stable .
here is the titan prime rom thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g-2014/development/rom-titan-prime-rom-1-0-0-t3141853

So guys, your opinion on : Stock or CM based ROM? Except the features that CM gives

My phone is running cm12.1 and I'm a heavy user I will get over 5 hours of onscreen time. I do use xposed installer with amplify and greenify. We have been loads of updates and battery life remains stable. Hope this gave a bit of insight.

[Q] Cm11 or Omni Rom 4.4?

CM have about 25 million users worldwide, and now Cm11 is taking a huge step forward by using this new easy way to upgrade the smartphone system. Omni Rom 4.4 is a new project, with great and promising fectures and developers. What is the best way to go? They will be nearly the same?
For me there is only CM I`m a big fan since CM 9 ...but i think you should test both and make your own decision what works better for you ...
sorry for this ,but in the end it is subjective where your own preferences are ...

This boils down to personal preference. They won't be the same - CM will have features that Omni doesn't, and vice versa.

I think Omnirom will be great, they're focusing their attention on under-the-hood features of great interest:
Multiwindows,
Delta update,
Reworked DSP
OmniFile
and their development plan will make Omnirom an really appreciated rom

Multi Windows!!!!? if that 's right then this will be the best ROM for i9000.
But omnirom is still in alpha mode with many issues pending to be solved.
CM nightly have very little minor bugs which can be ignored. I love it. I am using cyanAOSP 1.4.0 KitKat ROM based on CM11 and it is awesome.
this is my 100th post, and finally a senior member on XDA. yippie!!!!

my personal opinion (and wish) for every ROM/kernel developer would be to focus on power consumption. I have tried many ROM and read too many threads...Not a single ROM/kernel can reach stock ROM's deep sleep figures

There is only so much you can do, especially since you're running firmware intended for stronger devices, with dual and quad cores being the norm for ICS/JB nowadays

Speeding up performance?

Are their any mods or anything compatible with this device to help speed up performance?
I have seen some but I'm not sure about compatibility because I'm running Carbon ROM and I'm not sure if that affects compatibility.

Create a nandroid backup and try pureperformanceX. I'm using that with Validus 13's KK rom and it is fast with great battery life. I also turn off all animation in Developer Options as well.
I've used PureperformanceX on my LG P930 and it works quite well.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2360985
Like stated I've turned off animation options and I use Lagfix (had to grab the apk from google) and I run that periodically and also DU Battery Saver has an "optimize" shortcut that ends background processes. I also underclocked my cpu to run at 1ghz instead of 1.5ghz seems to have helped me also.

Yeah, I did! In comparison to CM11, Mokee 4.4.2 has a much better performance than CM11, which used to be a little laggy...
Mokee 4.4.2 has an RC status and is very stable.
Updates aren't released so often than CM's, but the updates are coming with bigger changes. CM11 updates are coming almost each day, but only with translation updates and some tiny fixes, which are causing no mentionable improvements. Mokee's battery life on screen is almost the same (just a little better), off screen very much better, because of Mokee's battery saving toggle, which is a great feature! Mokee also offers some cool UI features/animations.
In the end I can say that CM has always been a good rom for our 4X HD and I've always been satisfied with CM but version 11 is still in nightly state, very unstable and at the moment I recommend Mokee instead of CM11. Maybe I'm going to have a look at CM11 again when a Snapshot or an RC comes out.
(I don't say CM is bad, it's just full of bugs until now)
Hope I could help ya!

Most likely, CM11 based and Omni based require a wipe because, omni is awkward, check out my post in the beanstalk thread, I explained wiping and flashing etc.

Dude, was the question "is it recommended to wipe data?" ? No, so why give that answer xD
Of course it is not recommended, it is not recommended to void your warranty and risk bricking your phone by custom romming in the first place but you've come this far now
Take a backup, and if all else fails, just reflash kdz and start over.. Its fine, experiment, that's how to build experience, you learn what ROMs to wipe data, and which you can get away with...
All threads say "full wipe recommended" or similar, but no one ever listens xD
If dirty flash = bootloop, then clean flash, or choose a different rom, or use a backup method..
I encourage failure, then you build the experience of recovering a device, and then you are more confident knowing you have that back fall.
Thanks guys.

AICP is fastest but not long. I installed 80 apps and it slow down worse than cm12. PAC have little features
Stay on Stock for the moment, or flash Titan Prime.
Fast, stable and RAM issues are non-existing.
Running 50 hours straight already on it, still 25% battery left.
And if you install Xposed correctly, you get all the features found on CM12 based ROMs.
I will switch to AOSP or CM12 based ROMs once 5.1 comes in and settles down.
I am using cm12 official and i like to use cm becoz in that we can apply themes
