I was using a moto x 2014 and it had this behavior:
When I long-hold and select text in an email, or on the web, an options bar pops up that gives me icons for 3 options:
1) Copy Text to Clipboard
2) A magnifying glass that searches in wikipedia, google translate, or google dictionary for the selected text
3) An option that Shares the selected text*
Is there any way to get this in my lollipop 1st gen?

I have check that the Auto-sync is ON for Gmail
Open gmail app, press menu, more, settings, scroll down to notification and check the box. That should do it

I have a Droid Bionic on Verizon running Android 4.0.4. Does anyone know how I can go about sending certain contacts direct to voicemail and vise versa? I've been reading forums all day, talking about a send to voicemail option under the contact, but I can't seem to find that option in my contacts. Does anyone know how can do this for an individual contact without having to call Verizon or use their web page?

I'm using Eclipse and I go to the Contacts App, tape the contact, tap the menu button, then check "All Calls to Voicemail." I'm not sure if it's the same or different on stock Bionic.
Blocker is a free app from the okay store that should work. You can create profiles and blacklists which will take specific actions on calls from specific contacts. Works well for me

Calls Blacklist by Vlad Lee will do something like that to. I seem to remember that the stock contacts app can do that too - but its somewhat hidden and I forget how its done.

It works exactly the same way in stock ICS.
Is there a way to get the Message and Email icons show show a little number when there is either a new message or email? My Samsung Galaxy s4 showed a 1 if I got a new message or 3 if I got 3 new messages right next/on to the icon.
Get a custom launcher from play store. 2 I've used awhile can both do this...smart launcher and Nova prime.

does anyone know how to stop the messaging app from displaying the entire message and the navigation bar and when you turn your screen on does anyone know how to make it just say message message received . I'm wondering if I may have to use a third-party messaging app ?

I had the same problem. Used the default sms app of my note 4. I tried with hangouts app (activated it as my default sms app) and that seems to work great...seems it doesnt work to well with the samsung app...
