Trade g4 for nexus 6? - Nexus 6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Been missing the nexus 6....been thinking of trading my g4 for a nexus 6....should I? Wait for an unknown like the new n5 or something I know and love?

just traded my one-month old htc m9 for and n6, by far im good with it.

I'd trade ya if I could. I love my n6 but I always wanted a g3, g4 even better.

I have been holding onto an AT&T Nexus 6 that I bought so that I could have one on Verizon I bought a 64 gig from Google when the price drops, so some guy just traded me an LG g4 for the Nexus 6 from AT&T. Problem is now I have a phone that literally won't work on Verizon, but I think the phone is worth a little more so I decided to trade the guy. So now my 64 gigabyte phone just went down and I'm waiting on an RMA

SO based on your experience, should he get an N6 or not?

For you, G4 is much better than N6?

Traded a 2 week old One M9 for my N6 at Verizon. Best decision ever.
Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk

G4 is definitely easier to handle, as it is smaller in size...noticeably smaller. The N6 has a brighter and sharper display and no lag whatsoever. It depends on what your needs are.

Well OP has had both. He had an N6, then got a G4 and now wants an N6 again. I think he should just make the decision himself

Why? People tell that M9 is butterly smooth and fast, and has an perfect size to grip.

If you not consider the camera, which G4 is obviously the right coice, isnt N6 best overall? Hasnt it a better battery life?
Thanks

Samsung's approach: Pack as many gimmicky features into crappy feeling hardware and crappy looking ui. yuck! Could they make the phone look anymore cheaper. And that touchwiz ui... WOW does it look crappy.

agreed. It looks like a good phone with some cool features. I like my phone better, but this is probably going to be great for all of those sgs2 users that are about to come off contract.
Mainly camera functions. Maybe Samsung should focus more of their energy into camera.

Happens in every forum. Everybody loves the phone they have and will defend it ruthlessly. When another, newer phone comes out people bash it. Just how it is. The sgs4 is a nice phone. Its not a let down or disappointment. Its just not a nexus. Nexus gets first updates and amazing development. That's what matters to me the most.

After the nightmare of dealing with Samsung and ODIN I vowed NEVER to own a Samsung Phone again. SGS4 looks like more of the same as the SGS3 and as someone called it the SGS3s That is exactly Samsung's strategy. They are copying Apple even more in this regard. They will keep the SGS3 going for another year as the more "Affordable" SGS like they were doing with the SGS2 recently. Notice all the Deep discounts for the SGS3 lately? I can't wait to get my self all on the Nexus Line (as well as my Wife). Tired of all these bad Custom UIs and Carrier Hostage crises.
saw the live event. Its nothing revolutionary as Galaxy S3 was. Most of event focused on gimmick features. It has some cool features but nothing wowed me .

Moto Nexus 5 is coming

Well guys how do you feel about it I was hoping either HTC or moto got it this year. With that said I really do love the nexus 4 design I just hope the next nexus wows me. But I also loved the galaxy nexus too.

Afraid of what CPU they'd put in it. If its Qualcomm, there might be problems with it being open with the Nexus 7 2013 fiasco with JBQ leaving AOSP etc.
I would think either a snap 800 or something like the moto x and the features become standard android in key lime. The funny thing is I hated leaving amoled now I dread going back.

Thats the thing, I want a Snapdragon 800 but I don't want it if the factory images aren't going to be released as well as the GPU drivers. Thats the reason why Nexus 7 still doesn't have factory images available (or binaries).
http://www.androidpolice.com/2013/0...om-ever-being-published-jbq-strongly-implies/
Its not a true Nexus device if those files are missing. Yeah... I really do like the IPS screen. I think they're going back to Super AMOLED if its amde by Motorola. Its a bummer that LG G2 isn't the base of the Nexus 5. LG screens are amazing.
Maybe a LG G2 Google Play Edition inbound?
I think I see what Google is doing the moto x will probably be almost free on contract by the time nexus 5 is out and new nexus will probably be rock solid design and since everyone is fine paying 600 dollars for Google play editions phones new nexus will probably be 499 or 450

Title of this thread is wrong. If Motorola is making a Nexus phone it would be based on their 4 inch screens thus it would be the new Nexus 4 (not Nexus 5). I could see LG making a Nexus 5 based on the G2 and perhaps Motorola making a Nexus 4 based on the Moto X.

Me too. There must be some prototypes already since there ain't so many months left for the proposed release. They can't just make up something in short period of time.
My money is on Motorola, sadly. They have now that thing going on with their manufacturing plants and everything so logistics and all would be so much easier in US.
Still, LG with G2 specs would have been much better choice.

Um no? The nexus device is usually a international unlocked phone so their factory is strictly for the moto x since it is a us exclusive plus it cost more to make it here so the phone should cost more. The lg G2 is nice but it's not all about specs

No way we get two nexus phones and that doesn't make sense one phone to lead the direction of android. Seeing the moto x features and key lime pie around the way I this all makes sense. Now what probably will still do is sell the nexus 4 from lg and maybe 250 for a 16gb. Its not like nexus specs are even dated yet.

LG Nexus 5 is a comin

OK so looks like LG and Google are at it again. I don't even care at this point, either a Moto nexus for probably more money or LG at same price point. Most likely it is LG at this point and we lose the snap 800 in g2 but get the rest.

This is just a made up report based on zero facts. Just like the Moto Nexus rumor. Until there is some real insider information, I wouldn't pay any attention to these rumors.
The thing about a "rumor" is anyone can say whatever they want and claim no responsibility if they are wrong. Being there are about 5 different "next" nexus rumors in this forum, most of these are just brain children of their authors.
Personally, I take everything with a spoonful of salt until Google announces the device.
Sent from my Nexus 10 using Tapatalk 4
Sounds familiar...
The G2 is to big
I like how much space is covered by the screen, but the overall size of the phone is to huge in my opinion. Maybe better a 5" screen?
Everything else sounds great for the same price of the N4. But 32GB would be nice.
Buttons on the side are a must. Those back Button are strange.

The Atrix was released about 2 months after the Optimus 2X. I actually had an O2X, worst phone I ever had. ****ty software support as well, took LG well over a year to release ICS, and even then, it was buggy as sh*t etc. Hardware was decent though
I'd rather have Motorola get a chance to build a Nexus phone with the Moto X design.

IMO Moto X design and size is great, but unfortunately everything else is dissapointment. I would like to see next Nexus will have similar design to Moto X, but better CPU (Snapdragon 600 or 800), and better body materials (Kevlar instead on Moto X's plastic).
Please discuss further in the existing Nexus 5 thread

[Q] Just got the Moto X... few ??

So my old galaxy nexus was overheating and about to catch on fire so Asurion sent me a brand new Moto X still packaged up for a free warranty swap... woo! Now I was was wondering, is this phone good enough to use stock? and will switching from stock to a custom rom in the future will that lose some of the moto functionality? Overall, decent phone? I mean it was a free upgrade from a GN so it can't be too bad eh?

I requested yesterday and got it today. The lady offered me this one right off the bat and said it was really good. She said she would of suggested the GS4 but her supervisor wouldn't let her only because I had already had a samsung and since it was overheating they didn't want to send the same manufacturer. Also the reason why I got a brand new phone instead of anything else.

Help! Should I trade my HTC M8 GPE for a Nexus 6?

Should I trade my 32GB HTC M8 GPE for a 32GB Nexus 6? Would it be worth it?
Trading a HTC M8 GPE for a Nexus 6 without anything extra? Thats a really good trade assuming the Nexus 6 is not damaged or IMEI blacklisted.
Absolutely worth it.
Do it man, do it!!
Yes, I wouldn't even question that!
No brainer, I came from the M8 and vanilla android is great, device beats the m8 in most categories except build quality and camera software in my opinion.

http://www.technobuffalo.com/2014/10/15/nexus-6-vs-htc-one-m8-spec-shootout/
Better soc, 1gb more ram, bigger battery, bigger screen (subjective but I think if someone used the n6 for a week with a open mind they won't go back) and more.
Also it's a nexus device meaning the device is supported well by the community in terms of development.
