Trusted Face "FaceLock" for the Note 4 - Galaxy Note 4 General

Deleted

Flashed it and set it up but the feature never activates when I turn my phone on.

cm 12.1 has the feature enabled, it's pretty useless. Unlocks about 1/10 times.

Nope this is enabled on all android 5+ devices but lucky for us, Samsung removed it..... Maybe try improving face match and different positions. I didn't have a problem with it while I was on touchwiz.... And neither on stock Sense ROM on One M8

I don't understand your, "Nope". It is available on the CM12.1 official rom for the note 4, I know because that's what I'm running. I did try improving face matching multiple times (across various nightlies) by changing the angle multiple times, changing the lighting strength and source multiple times as well as distance and facial expression. Not quite sure how other android devices fit in here, especially not a One M8. I thought this was a note 4 thread.

could you upload th file???. I like to try on GS5 stockrom rooted.

[SOLVED] [Q] (HELP) Permanently disable proximity sensor (tried all apps)

My Nexus 6 now goes off and doesnt come on during call I have to end the call to even see.
I just checked and it has been damaged. I have tried everything and finally thought is there a method by which i can disable it by Build prop or disabling drivers. I have tried all apps so i wanted a root level solution
Please devs help me out
FIX: Finally got the fix in benzo rom, in the call app there is an option to keep screen on during calls (only in newer builds from 25th may onwards). FInally fell in love with N6 all over again
This is very weird.
I have never noticed this kind of radio silence in any of the device threads, but on the most open phone of them all and google flagship was most surprising.
I just wanted to know any root kind of fix for priximity sensor, have googled and tried everything, just wanted some help from a dev
http://forum.xda-dev...-1-rom-t3069031

I've seen a million threads asking for proximity sensor or hall effect sensor being disabled in various device forums and I've never seem one get a working answer

There's a proximity fix zip for this phone too, but I don't think it will help in your situation.

developer-friendly AOSP roms?

Can anybody recommend an AOSP-derived ROMs whose developers are enthusiastic about bringing new developers into the fold & have spent some time making documentation and build scripts likely to be relatively straightforward for someone with lots of programming experience (including Android development) and (desktop) Linux experience... but has never managed to actually **build** a ROM from source and make it all the way to a working phone?
Why AOSP (vs Touchwiz) -- there are certain things about Android that have always annoyed me, and I'd love to try and fix. Like implementing "rotate on screen-powerup" (screen orientation normally locked & indifferent to the accelerometer state, but doing an accelerometer read whenever the screen gets turned on by pressing the power button and changing the portrait/landscape orientation at THAT time if appropriate). Or building a hacked browser that prompts to override website directives to not save credentials. Not to mention, fantasies about putting back features that Google took away from us, like ext2-formatted microSD cards. Or jacking up the touchscreen sample rate to the maximum supported by the underlying chipset whenever a Graffiti-like input method is active. Yeah, nothing hard or anything...
The closest I ever came was building CM10 about two years ago for my S3. From what I recall, I managed to get a daily build to compile without errors using a VM somebody made available... but when I finally flashed it to the phone, it just kept rebooting. From what I remember, there were generic instructions for building CM available, but I'm pretty sure there were additional steps specific to the S3 and/or AT&T that were omitted (but mandatory for a working ROM). Or it might have been eMMC-related (I remember that phone was *always* funky about newly-flashed ROMs, and often required multiple flashes before one would "take"). Either way, I ended up badly frustrated & ultimately accomplished nothing.

Multitouch with +5 fingers

****UPDATE: *****
This is what happens https://imgflip.com/gif/1xvxm0
What can be the cause of this? Does this happen to any of you as well? Should i open the casing and see if there is anything touching the metal casing that should not ?
****EO UPDATE ****
I have been testing with both
Settings -> Developer Options - > Show Pointers (and looking at the top left that says x/x points)
or
Using a multitouch test app like so https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.the511plus.MultiTouchTester
The latter is nice because it has big handlers and you can clearly see the point/touch flickering like loosing and creating point (hence creating a new point ID)
From what i can say in Marshmallow it worked way better, on the last 2 Nougat updates i saw that at the 7th point it started to do the flickering and with this one it starts at the 5th point.
With 3 fingers screenshot disabled (and all the gestures for that matter) as i know it would create a conflict.
Just tested in a Motorola with Marshmallow and it created the 10 points flawlessly.
I wonder if any of you noticed the same or is something off with my touchscreen?
Might it be a Nougat thing ?
Any known solutions?
I searched around and nothing Nougat related seem to pop up
Just tested with both OP2 and a Moto G5 and they both work great, actually it even worked great on my Samsung Galaxy i9000
I have noticed that for the last 2 updates or so multitouch capability has been decreasing.
When are you ever going to use ten fingers to multitask? If it wasn't for the screenshot gesture, we wouldn't even be using three.

That is irrelevant for what i am trying to figure out, what i want to know is if it is a HW problem by default or just my HW is faulty or even if it is a Nougat problem.
It works flawlessly on other less capable phones
Either software or hardware fault I would say. I just tried it out without any flickering with 10 fingers on my 3t running latest unofficial LineageOS 15/Oreo ROM.

Thank you, from what i get so far is a Nougat thing, all the users that have Oreo seems to work fine
Conductive electricity ?
Ok some pretty strange updates...
I accidentally tested it on a metal table and it worked perfectly, which lead me to think that it might be due to conductive energy or something.
So i tried the test on a wooden table and it does flicker and loose touches, so i pressed with a finger on a metal part of the OP3T casing and the points are registered properly.
I had made a video so people don't think i am crazy here is the result https://imgflip.com/gif/1xvxm0 at this point i can say that is directly related.
What can be the cause of this? Does this happen to any of you as well? Should i open the casing and see if there is anything touching the metal casing that should not ?
anyone ?
This is a non issue honestly. If it doesn't change how your phone functions in day to day practical use, you probably shouldn't bother with something like that. The touch display functionally is fantastic especially the screen colors and with the recently fixed touch latency it does happen to be one of the best screens on the market despite its lower resolution. Factually you won't use more than a three touch input so. IMHO

It is definitely a problem did you watched the video ? because it seems like a real hard problem to me, use cases for you might be different from others. My old samsung galaxy i9000 as well as my OP2 did not had that problem
It may be a problem for one and may not be a problem in another's eyes.
To address your issue, have you tried switching ROM's? I don't think it could be a Nougat problem, but you might as well try Oreo or even MM.
This may sound funny, but have you tried with another person's fingers?

I had the feeling that it might be from the updates (still using official OP updates) but right now i think it might be hardware. Yes i tried with other fingers, thinking about opening the phone to see if there is something touching the metal case inside.

Galaxy or pixel rom for p30 pro

Hi,
I have been using this phone for two years and it still works flawlessly but I would like to give it a refresh. So I was looking for some ROMs in the forum but for some reason I don't see anything else than LineageOS. I remember times back 9-10 years when nearly any phone had at least a dozen of custom ROMs available, so I was looking to convert my phone software to samsung(preferably)/google like but with keeping the drivers so I don't loose the super fast charging, camera features/quality, fingerprint reader. You might ask, what's wrong with the current ROM, well, some features for example interfere with Dell mobile connect/microsoft my phone making it unable to reply to messages, problem with syncing etc.
Thank you

Hi Sameer lyf,
Hey, aren't we all.... It appears the Redmi brand has a lot of unfinished quirks and bugs in their devices.... as I am experiencing too....
The hardware seems ok-ish, but the OS and software seems very quirky at moment... most likely due to the bundling of MIUI over Android. As things that used to work in STOCK Anndroid no longer work on these devices and left with features that don't work....
1) Ringtones !! (can only select from the 3x different ones it came with... no option to add others)
2) SD Card Slot, pointless addition as does not work
3) Default Apps, forget that they are the chosen one... and reset themselves as soon as you've configured them.
4) Battery Drain, seems to drain 1% as soon as you tap the screen... lol
5) ..... I'm sure there are more issues, as I've raised a few threads since getting this phone barely a month ago.
With regards to your issue, are you able to upload a sample photo so we can see more what you mean...??
Is this taken with stock camera, or one of the many GCam mods... as we're all still trying to find the holy grail of Camera's for this device...
Cheers, Lister
