I'm talking mostly about att, verizion models working using custom roms meant for other models . would their be any problems, such as receiving signal? just wondering.
Short answer: I would say yes, there will be big problems, if you don't have the correct baseband flashed, that's needed by your phone.
Take a look over here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/mot...ata-messed-t3175563/post62272869#post62272869
Just as long as you flash a GSM version if using GSM and Verizon if you have the XT1060 model. Right now I'm using a 5.1 rom for model xt1053, on my Rogers xt1058. I did this because there's a version that doesn't upgrade the bootloader to lollipop for that model only. I do have one problem and so does everyone else that flashes the wrong version, the speaker phone doesn't work if I'm away from WiFi and most people it doesn't work at all. Other than that everything works and I even get LTE

The reason it didn't work in this case is because he flashed a GSM rom. on a CDMA phone or verizion phone. Only Verizon uses CDMA that I'm aware of so don't flash a XT1060 rom if you have a GSM phone., or vice versa. I do think you can flash the radio but that I'm not 100% sure

OK so I have a HTC One M7 on Verizon, I recently Rooted, Unlocked the BootLoader, and S-Off'd the device. Now I'm wanting to transfer this phone to T-Mobile. I currently am using a MC11 Rom and feel pretty good with flashing and such. I have seen a couple different post some saying that a Verizon M7 will work on T-Mobile, others saying that the radio is different and others saying that you won't get 4G LTE. Can anyone help me out and give me some solid answers? I really don't wanna brick my phone and I definitely want 4G LTE. I'm sort of confused on what RUU to get and also is there a way to see the specs such as radio info and such to make sure everything is compatible? If anybody could help me out i'd really appreciate it. Lastly if I put this in the wrong section i'm sorry, this is my first post

Verizon & T mobile have different hardware partition layout
so confirm that first then proceed
you can brick your phone careful !
OK well how would I do that to check? Is there any forum you can link me to that shows how to do this? Sorry to ask basicly a step by step but I just wanna be saf through this. Thanks BTW.

Only phones with MID starting with PN071 (GSM M7_U or M7_UL) can be converted to other variants having MID starting with PN071 (GSM M7_U or M7_UL).
For example, you can convert a WWE GSM variant (PN0710000) to a Dev edition GSM variant (PN0712000)
You can't convert a Sprint CDMA variant (PN0720000) to a GSM variant (PN071XXXX)
Afaik, (I might be wrong, confirm if your partition table is the same)You can't (?) convert a Verizon CDMA variant (PN0731000) to a T-MOB GSM variant (PN0713000)
Afaik, MIDs not having the same 3rd digit have different partition layout and different hardware. Make sure before proceeding.
---------- Post added at 09:31 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:15 AM ----------
Ok, it looks like Verizon variant have the same partition layout as the GSM variant
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2416038
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2317621
So you should be fine changing your MID from PN0731000 to any PN071 MID and flashing a RUU.
But you will probably not have LTE because flashing RUU doesnt change frequency bands.
Hi, I was just wondering if its safe to flash a LMY47x or the LVY47x on a Sprint LMY47D?
Is there a difference between the LMY and LVY and any other series?

I'm using LMY47I on Sprint without issue. It seems most of us Sprint users have had the most success with the 95r radio, which is included in most of the builds. The 98r radio is included in LMY47E which was supposed to be Verizon specific.
Where are you seeing LVY47? I only see LMY47.
Edit. I see one ROM claimed LVY47H but also talked about LMD47 so I think its a mistake.
---------- Post added at 09:20 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:09 AM ----------
Never mind I see some others. If it is for the Nexus 6 it is safe to flash.
LVY47H is possibly leaked, possibly something else. I can't find any confirmation. It was not released on the Factory Images page. LMY47I is the latest generic Google rom for most carriers. LMY47M is for T-Mobile only. I am on LMY47M but no one has been able to say specifically what code makes it T-Mobile only. If you wish to be stock-rooted on SprintI would go with LMY47I.
LMY47M isn't so much T-Mobile only as it was only released to T-Mobile. Difference being I've ran it (as have others) on AT&T and other networks fine. Its just T-Mobile did something in it to enable VoLTE on their network.
na, im on tmobile, and on I, and volte is working fine here.
OK so I have the xt1050 variant, bootloader unlocked. LTE isn't fully supported on the GSM side of the phone and no CDMA carriers in my area will activate the phone, the only one that would doesn't exist anymore. I was wondering if I could flash the modem from another variant, could I use LTE on GSM? Or will it mess everything up? If I can do so, which variant do I need to take the NON-HLOS.bin from?
My device info=
My original OS: Android 4.4.2.
My original system version: 161.44.31.ghost_row.
ACG.en.US
Bootloader: 30.B4
Current OS: cm13 nightly 9/21
Another thing, will flashing/updating modem fix the speakerphone bug? Not sure where that comes in but I was reading the forums and saw that it would but I would have to update my bootloader also, and I can't ?

As you are bootloader unlocked you can update the gpt partition use any latest gpt partition, i will suggest you can try xt1053 lolipop stock rom for all your above problem.

I'd rather stay away from the gpt partition, last time I messed with it, I ended up with a brick. But I will try the NON-HLOS from the xt1053 stock ROM. Thanks for the help ??

Please reply back. I've tried everything I know to get LTE on GSM but it's still sticking with H+. And when trying to flash another variants modem and it still brings up CDMA on here. Any idea why when I'm grabbing the modem from the xt1053 and xt1058. Neither are CDMA.
I went ahead and flash the gpt so the speakerphone works now. That's the only good thing that's come out of me flashing this phone.
I've flashed NON-HLOS and the fsg. From both xt1053 and xt1058 variants. What should I do?

Buy god damn XT1058
Modem exchange gives nothing. And when you speak about LTE, you don't say anything of the bands available on your carrier(s). Get this information first.
XT1050 LTE bands = 700, 1700 MHz (B13/B4)
XT1058 LTE bands = 1900, 1700, 850, 2600, 700 MHz (B2/4/5/7/17)
XT1052 LTE bands = 800, 1800, 2600 MHz (B20/B3/B7)
XT1053 LTE bands = 700, 1700 MHz (B13/B4)
etc.

H+ (HSPA+) not so bad mode. LTE usually doesn't have prefect area cover, and weak signal will force phone to spend more energy on reconnection/switching.

Mine is CDMA unlocked too. But straight talk wouldn't activate the CDMA side because it's not a Verizon or Sprint phone. I know Verizon works and it gets LTE on my phone. So why not on GSM. I noticed when switching to LTE only, it has a lock beside the network. Contacted them and they said it was a device issue. Is LTE locked on the GSM side? This is a weird phone but I love it bc it's bootloader unlocked.

No. Just make sure your carrier supports XT1050 LTE bands.
I would also replace SIM card to newer. It helps sometimes to get LTE.

I would suggest to forget about modem exchange. It won't give effect, and won't turn on XT1050 into XT1058.

I have searched these forums but have not been able to find an answer to my questions.
I recently bought a Sprint N960U unlocked in Canada. I am using a Rogers SIM and it's working but I am stuck on Android 9 Nov2019 firmware.
I want to update to Android 10 using Odin. I have a few questions
From reading these forums I understand I can flash any snapdragon firmware. is that correct? I am planning on installing the sprint firmware just to be safe
Will flashing a new firmware lock my phone (I don't know how the phone was unlocked originally)
I am planning on using the instructions from Sammobile to flash the firmware. Anything else I need to be aware off
I suppose you can do a CSC reset by *#272*IMEI#
Select Rogers or XAC for fully unlocked. This will wipe off your phone though.
Hi, I am now having the exact same situation as yours. The new Note 9 with Sprint stucks on Andriod 9. How did you resolve the issue? Thanks.
Have you checked with Sprint that they show the phone as being unlocked?

I recently purchased a Note 10 liter to replace my broken note 8. I am on Verizon and I bought a carrier unlocked phone.
I do not see the wifi calling feature to enable it on the phone and the seller told me that I would need a carrier locked phone for this feature.
Is there anything I can do to enable this feature? I am ok with installing a ROM in order to do so.
Thanks in advance for the assistance.

Hi, I don't know if Verizon is similar to AT&T but I had to not only flash the AT&T bloatware, I had to use my old SIM card that had previously been used in an AT&T carrier branded phone & in their system for a time (for me it was over a year) to get all of the expected features. Wifi calling, visual voicemail, HD voice & video.

I am using the SIM card from my old phone in the new Note 10 lite. Maybe I need to wait for a while.
Is there a site I can download the Verizon apps from to install them?
thanks

I assume this is an International or Latin American version?
I'm guessing you can use the Frija app to get the firmware & a specific Odin to flash the software. Search here on XDA for answers. Maybe you won't be able to flash us carrier software on a foreign model?

The Note 10 lite is an International Device. There are no roms to flash as there is no Twrp. The only way a rom can be flashed is creating a rom that is like a Magisk module and flash it that way. As of now none exist. Usually you need a At&t csc zip or whatever carrier you are using and flash the csc with Twrp. And i don't believe there is a carrier version of the 10 lite. The 10 lite already has volte. I have been using mine on At&t with At&t sim and there is no wifi calling. You can unlock the bootloader and root. I wrote up a how to guide on rooting. The only thing you can do is call your carrier and see what they can do. But I know I have tried this before on At&t with an international device and they said they were unable to activate wifi calling on that device

The only time I have seen wifi calling work on a International device used in United States is with a custom rom with csc from different carriers cooked into the rom. In my experience International phones do not support this right out of the box. So yes its easy to say "works for me" when you live in the region the phone was made for..lol.
