Hello guys!
After bricking my first Xperia Z thanks to Xposed, I decided not to root my second XZ. Used stock for about a year till yesterday, when i decited to root with kingroot + script.
Everything went well, i am now rooted, managed to change the dpi and the font. Hurray!
Now, I'm trying to remove some bloatware without getting into bootloops after, but i do not know which is safe or not..
I did not install any recovery, rom is stock LP.
My question is if there is a list with the safe apk's to remove taking in consideration the way i rooted + no recovery work done.
Please excuse me if this is a wrong section and thank you in advance!

Well, there is a usual sense as to how to remove apps. Apps which you do not see icons on your drawer/dock are USUALLY A BIG NO. Apps which you do see on your dock/drawer can be removed safely , however, try not to remove camera, settings or such things.
If you can send me screenshots, I can easily tell you which are safe and which are not. Do understand sometimes the apks are odexed which means they need another apk to function fully so if you remove on apk, it might affect another.
This usually tells you which bloatware is safe to remove

How did you brick your device with xposed?. Just asking so I won't do the same
Not that much to tell.. I was on 4.4.2 i think and i rooted with Towel Root app.
After rooting, i installed xposed and busybox. When the phone asked to reboot, i clicked ok and the phone just died.. RIP.
I tried to bring it back to life but no success. Even sent it to a service center, but same result. I was very lucky that i could get it replaced with warranty.
So my advice is to be very careful what you do..

Hi everyone,
I've just gotten my note today and it comes pre-installed with LOTS of bloatware by telco.
Is there anyway to remove them? I tried to uninstall via applications in settings but it doesn't allow me to remove them.
Googled but can't find the answer too, so very much appreciate if someone knows of a solution.
Thanks.
Using Titanium Backup, I pretty much removed the same stuff from my Note as my S2. I got info from this thread. Also, there's a reference for S2 apps with comments on how safe they are to remove here.
If I flash to a custom rom, it will remove all bloatwares as well right?
Im new to Android, just gotten my phone and have not root yet. Was thinking of playing around with my phone for awhile before i attempt to root and flash, im worried of screwing up and bricking

A custom rom will only come without bloatware if the developer chose to remove it from the rom. Just use titanium backup. It only takes a second to remove the app.
thx for the help.
Ive rooted and installed titanium backup, used it to remove quite a few bloatwares.
However there are some bloatwares that cant be removed (ive removed it, but when i restarts my phone it comes back again).
But at least there's alot of them thats gone now

Yeah check whats safe and not safe first dont wanna end up untieing a knot you need..
Hi all, hope anyone can help.
My phone was all rooted no problem after unlocking my bootloader etc.
I did the latest OTA update and it went through all fine. I saw I still had superuser on my razr i so didn't think much of it.
I came to use a particular app the other day and realised it wasn't working.
I rebooted my phone and noticed for the first time that the unlocked that appears under the motorola sign (when I unlocked the bootloader it started displaying) was now missing.
I tried to update the binary settings on the superuser and it kept on failing. Then I downloaded root checker and it said my phone was incorrectly rooted.
So couple of questions if I may:
1 - how do I go about properly rooting my phone again....has my bootloader re-locked?
2 - how do I scrap the whole thing and go back to stock i.e removing superuser completely.
Thank you all and Merry Xmas!

Hi,
everything you described is normal after an OTA update. The unlocked image at startup is replaced by the standard one but your bootloader stays unlocked. Root access gets lost after the update but you simply have to re-root it as you did the first time. (root exploit or root zip for cwm)
look here:

I hope this helps.

Nice one thanks for your help. If I want to un-root my phone - can you or anyone advise on how best to do it from where my phone stands now?

hey
1. go to settings/apps/ and search the app superuser and deinstall updates (only if you had some,if not skip this)
2. use rootexplorer or another with same functions, go to System/Apps and delete the Superuser.apk
3. go to playstore and install the Superuser app(yes its right)
4.rootexplorer again, go to System/bin and delete SU
5. go to playstore and deinstall Superuser.. done

Cheers but I won't be able to do this I think as superuser is a system file that I cannot remove without being fully rooted first so therefore I guess I will have to re-root it to unroot it lol.

yep i think so.
Hello guys,
I had rooted my One and unlocked the bootloader but then for 4.2.2 i have relocked the bootloader and also unrooted it and also installed the stovk recovery.
But after flashing the stock rom i see the SuperSU installer app in the notification bar, app drawer and in system apps also!
down below are some pics!
I want to remove that app but without root
please can anyone tell me what to do??
have u find a solution
have u find out how to remove supersu installer?
same here
have you found a solution?
Please don't tell me you have to unlock the bootloader, again to do this...
The Less-Than-Obvious Solution
This was an initially annoying catch 22. You need to flash to go back to an unlocked stock, and then TWRP places the SuperSU installer on your freshly-returned-to-stock phone! NO! :crying:
The less-than-obvious solution is to actually install SuperSU, and then go into SuperSU settings and choose "Full Unroot". This removes all traces of the phone being rooted, and the phone also remains locked and without the tamper flag set. :silly:
I hope that helps you guys in the future, considering I'm kind of late to the party.

Ive removed supersu from the phone with 'Full Unroot' option but on factory reset it asks to install again.

1- Please don't double post, just get's everybody confused
2- if it's popping back up after a reboot, then you probably have a stock kernel (ie with write protection), and that will revert any changes to /system after a reboot.

Hello,
I have some questions about the root.
I'm actually, with a custom rom, Ultimate PureXP. But, since some days, I have some lags, so I want to reset my phone, installing back the original's sony rom.
When, this will be done, and I root my phone with the towel root app, can I install after app like "clean master", folder mount"... and install themes from the store ?
Thanks

If you plan on going back to stock and you root it successfully, all root apps should work just fine.
Sony themes will also work if you're on stock or a stock based ROM
Ok, thanks for your answer
I have the C6906, 14.3.a.0.757 and I rooted my phone about a year ago, and I noticed about a month ago, that all my root applications ask for root permission. I installed root checkers, and they have say that my device is unrooted. I have XPERIA XPOSED installed, and I'm really surprised some of those apps function perfectly. (Flashlight, 5 nav buttons, blue color theme, etc.) I do not remember what method I used to root my phone. Can you please help me find it again?
All I can remember, is I'm pretty sure it was a tutorial here at XDA
I ONLY ROOTED my phone, I did not flash it (by that I mean all my data was not wiped)
That's also where I found out about XPERIA XPOSED (the tutorial linked to it)
I think the app I was using, was white, and there was a horizontal status bar that let you know when your root was completed (I remember I forgot the drivers and it said FAIL!)
(see attachment, sorry it's all I remember)
Also, if I update to 4.4, will I lose all my data? Thanks

Well, when I look at the pictures of Odin, it looks nearly identical to the software I used to root my phone.
All I know it, that I had to select a file, (that I needed to download from somewhere)
Then I pressed a button, and my phone was rooted!
What other software can do it that way? I know it wasn't flashtool
