Hello guys,
I had rooted my One and unlocked the bootloader but then for 4.2.2 i have relocked the bootloader and also unrooted it and also installed the stovk recovery.
But after flashing the stock rom i see the SuperSU installer app in the notification bar, app drawer and in system apps also!
down below are some pics!
I want to remove that app but without root
please can anyone tell me what to do??
have u find a solution
have u find out how to remove supersu installer?
same here
have you found a solution?
Please don't tell me you have to unlock the bootloader, again to do this...
The Less-Than-Obvious Solution
This was an initially annoying catch 22. You need to flash to go back to an unlocked stock, and then TWRP places the SuperSU installer on your freshly-returned-to-stock phone! NO! :crying:
The less-than-obvious solution is to actually install SuperSU, and then go into SuperSU settings and choose "Full Unroot". This removes all traces of the phone being rooted, and the phone also remains locked and without the tamper flag set. :silly:
I hope that helps you guys in the future, considering I'm kind of late to the party.

Ive removed supersu from the phone with 'Full Unroot' option but on factory reset it asks to install again.

1- Please don't double post, just get's everybody confused
2- if it's popping back up after a reboot, then you probably have a stock kernel (ie with write protection), and that will revert any changes to /system after a reboot.

Hi all, hope anyone can help.
My phone was all rooted no problem after unlocking my bootloader etc.
I did the latest OTA update and it went through all fine. I saw I still had superuser on my razr i so didn't think much of it.
I came to use a particular app the other day and realised it wasn't working.
I rebooted my phone and noticed for the first time that the unlocked that appears under the motorola sign (when I unlocked the bootloader it started displaying) was now missing.
I tried to update the binary settings on the superuser and it kept on failing. Then I downloaded root checker and it said my phone was incorrectly rooted.
So couple of questions if I may:
1 - how do I go about properly rooting my phone again....has my bootloader re-locked?
2 - how do I scrap the whole thing and go back to stock i.e removing superuser completely.
Thank you all and Merry Xmas!

Hi,
everything you described is normal after an OTA update. The unlocked image at startup is replaced by the standard one but your bootloader stays unlocked. Root access gets lost after the update but you simply have to re-root it as you did the first time. (root exploit or root zip for cwm)
look here:

I hope this helps.

Cheers but I won't be able to do this I think as superuser is a system file that I cannot remove without being fully rooted first so therefore I guess I will have to re-root it to unroot it lol.

Hello!
Already got iHackers 2.0 + .290-kernel running (complete installed system) on rooted Z1 (C6903)!
Wanted to grant some apps SuperSu-permission and wanted to check within SuperSu which apps already got granted SuperSu-permissions. SuperSu showed up a message: binary must be updated! So I checked update normal way but install/download failed!
So I've searched www and found that someone mentioned to another guy (got same problem) to download Chainfire 1.51-flashable-SuperSu and this guy mentioned: flash in recovery and do update later on!
I tried and now ROOT HAS GONE!
Is it possible to use KingoRoot now again to get Root-permission back without loosing something (data, dual-recovery, xposed-stuff which is already installed, ...)?
How am i able to get binary for SuperSu up-2-date?
Thanks,

I got the pro version of SuperSu which fixed that binary problem for me.. As always make a back up of everything just in case. As far as I'm aware you do not have to factory reset or wipe data to root with KingoRoot.
Try it, otherwise I'd personally just go through the procedure again (and wipe data if needed) to get the root back. If you make a back up, it won't be a problem. Just a little time.
Hi!
Do have Pro-Version, too, but SU-Binary will not be updated! So I do need a way to get that SU-Binary updated without loosing Root, ...!
Thx,

Strange, I had exactly the same message. Firstly have you got Busybox Installed? Try installing this then updating again.
I'm researching it, a lot of other threads saying you may need to reroot to get it working, but try the above first.

thanks for your reply
but i just want uninstall the program.
vroot puts ads on the screen (when updated, not the original )
and theres no portuguese language (I'm from Brazil).
To put vroot in english, I have to put my system in english too.
I want to keep using original room.
I want to take it off out and then I'll try other root procedure.

Hello guys!
After bricking my first Xperia Z thanks to Xposed, I decided not to root my second XZ. Used stock for about a year till yesterday, when i decited to root with kingroot + script.
Everything went well, i am now rooted, managed to change the dpi and the font. Hurray!
Now, I'm trying to remove some bloatware without getting into bootloops after, but i do not know which is safe or not..
I did not install any recovery, rom is stock LP.
My question is if there is a list with the safe apk's to remove taking in consideration the way i rooted + no recovery work done.
Please excuse me if this is a wrong section and thank you in advance!

Well, there is a usual sense as to how to remove apps. Apps which you do not see icons on your drawer/dock are USUALLY A BIG NO. Apps which you do see on your dock/drawer can be removed safely , however, try not to remove camera, settings or such things.
If you can send me screenshots, I can easily tell you which are safe and which are not. Do understand sometimes the apks are odexed which means they need another apk to function fully so if you remove on apk, it might affect another.
This usually tells you which bloatware is safe to remove

How did you brick your device with xposed?. Just asking so I won't do the same
Not that much to tell.. I was on 4.4.2 i think and i rooted with Towel Root app.
After rooting, i installed xposed and busybox. When the phone asked to reboot, i clicked ok and the phone just died.. RIP.
I tried to bring it back to life but no success. Even sent it to a service center, but same result. I was very lucky that i could get it replaced with warranty.
So my advice is to be very careful what you do..
Hallo,
managing some different devices and run them mostly with custom ROMs, rooting was again and again a topic in this endeavour. During this course I've came accross so many resources but it isn't 100% clear for me. This is an attempt to get any uncertainties resolved.
Any input is welcome.
There are many explaining what rooting means, gaining administrative rights on the file system of your phone (in linux, root or superuser is the username of the master admin). With root access, you can install and uninstall anything you want on the phone. But resources what rooting actually does on modern Android are widely scattered around but I haven't found place yet where it all is well explained in one decent post. I've gone through some articles but still don't fully understand what it does and how can I hide later on as it certain apps won't run if they detect if a phone is rooted. These are my resources:

depending on the method and ROM, root related modification could be overridden when flashing. This is one of the reasons why I kicked off this thread. I want to outline it in more details (as soon as I have some spare hours)

Uninstall it should not be a problem, the su binary already in /system (system way) and in boot image (systemless way). But if you remove SuperSU from that app you will LOSE root!

OEM Unlock will allow your phone to root. If you are rooted and you disable this option, your phone will brick (as it will enable the device to check system signatures). I had this mistake and my SS phone said on reboot "Custom binary blocked by FRP lock"
The fix would be full stock ROM flash.

Yes, it's a permanent root. You can unroot if you want.
