Hi guys and thanks for taking the time to read,
I decided to factory reset my note 4 the other day, and no for some reason it will not connect to my service provider at all(T-mobile). I tried inserting the sim card into other phones and they work fine and pick up service. I am not sure what to do. I bought this phone off craigslist a few days ago, so I just wanted to factory reset it to wipe it. It was connecting to my provider and data was working prior to the reset. Another thing I noticed that is my IMEI changed. It was some random 15 number before but now when i check it it is 15 consecutive ones like so : 111111111111111/01
Specs for the phone as follows:
Model number - SM-N910F
Android Version - 4.4.4
Baseband Version - MOLY.WR8.W1315.MD.WG.MP.V34, 2014/09/30 12:06

Does anyone know how to get my note back up and running again?
Thanks for you're help

Hi I need some help hopefully some one can help me get this figured out. i got a S4 Active that is unlocked, didn't know that I would have to do anything to get 4g or 4gLTE. so I followed the guide listed in these two links:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2441211
http://galaxys4root.com/galaxy-s4-t...aws-bands-on-att-galaxy-s4-sgh-i337sgh-i337m/
everything went fine up to after the back up using QPST. when I went to restore using QCN file “337_AWS.qcn” i got about 5% then got this error message "received and invalid command from the phone. "
I've attempted to get this to work on different PC's with the same results. I've even tried to use the backup that I created with the same effect except it went to 6%.
the phone spec's are:
android version 4.3
Baseband version I537UCUBML2
KERNEL VERSION 3.4.0-2244695 [email protected] #1 WED DEC 4 21:42:36 KST 2013

If anyone a way to help please let me know.
ok so after a lot of digging i found the solution worked great.

Hello guys,
I bought a shattered-screen D4 off eBay for spare parts. It was listed as not booting, but it actually boots fine. The problem is it doesn't recognize the SIM and as it was wiped before I got it, I can't get anyhow get inside the system. I tried Airplane mode, but still the initial SIM unlock is needed to get inside. I can get to settings though.
Dialing *#06# or looking into settings shows the correct MEID/IMEI.
I tried switching the SIM & micro SD part from my working D4 to this one, to no avail. If there is a HW problem, it has to be on the main PCB - but it doesn't seem to be broken anyhow.
ADB shell won't let me into most folders including data (not rooted ofc):
Code:
C:\>adb shell
127|[email protected]_maserati:/ $ ls /data
ls /data
opendir failed, Permission denied
I can browse contents of sdcard0 via USB Mass Storage - not that it would help though.
Do you think there is a way to root the phone and install safestrap?

hi LuH,
I hope you will still read this. I have exactly the same phone, with exactly the same problem (does not read any SIM, at least italian ones)... did you manage your D4 to work? Was it sim-locked or not? I don't get any messages from mine...
Thanks!

Sorry to disappoint you, but I never got it to work (and didn't really try as this was a second unit for spare parts and testing that wasn't even supposed to boot according to the ebay listing) in GSM. Everything is fine except it doesn't recognize SIM. I tried switching the piece of PCB with SD and SIM terminals with one from my working phone, to no avail, so I suspect something's wrong with the main PCB.
I don't think it's any kind of simlock - that would have gone away when I sbf-restored it IMO. I suggest buying new unit, or claiming warranty for this one if applicable.
What I tried to solve here was how to get past the activation screen (which doesn't work without SIM, it requires it to be inserted for activation) so I can root the phone and install safestrap and flash different ROMs - which can be done using the 4-corner trick to skip activation.
Aha, many thanks for your answer ... at the end I sent back the phone to the vendor, as it was clear that the problem was the PCB/SIM slot. I suppose that a little number of D4 was defected in production, as some other people reported a similar problem here and there...
Hope next one will work

Is the IMEI really the same as on the cover of the Note box. Maybe there was a problem and had chsnged.
Sir .......I am also having same problem in my GT N7000 since last 3 times. Last two time, i had to spend 1500 buks at karol bagh. This time again i am facing same problem. Whenever i tried to call any number i got following message "NOT REGISTERED ON NETWORK". However, wifi internet is working good. My IMEI number have changed bcoz number behind battery and *#06# are different.
I have also gone through previous posts of this forum. I downlaoded Odin-v3-09. and selected PDA file (INU-N7000DDLSC-20130311113640). But problem not solved. I am a learner and not aware about much technicals.

Pls help me understand the same problem again and again and provide simplified steps to solve the problem.
Many Thanks
I bought a used Note 5 64GB yesterday. I put my 7-11 Speakout sim into it, and it worked great. I also tried a Wind Mobile sim and that worked well too. After I got the device home I noticed that there was a software update for it, however, I couldn't install the update due to "unauthorized software having been detected". The error message suggested I use SmartSwitch. I proceeded to download SmartSwitch, and once I installed it and plugged in my device it began updating. Unfortunately, once the update was complete my device's phone could no longer be used, "Could not connect to requested network..". When I manually search for mobile networks I can find WIND/Bell/Rogers and Speakout but, like I mentioned, I can't connect to them.
Any idea what I've done wrong? I've tried flashing the device a number of times now (custom roms + stock roms) and I can't seem to get the mobile functionality working again. I have tried a Bell / Rogers / Wind and a Speakout sim card and all result in the same thing.
Any help you could offer would be greatly appreciated!

I'm not sure if you are having a similar problem to the one I describe here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=64872537&postcount=22
so far no solution has been offered. I've contacted Bell via their 'escalation' request.... silence
It seems like the software upgrade to 'N920W8VLU2AOK5' has caused mobile connection issues for some Note 5 users.
I will let you know if / when anything happens
Have an xt1254 (bought at Best Buy/setup with Verizon). After screen replacement, the microphone does not appear to work during a call. The problem appears to be very specific to when using the phone as a "handset" in both regular and speakerphone modes. I can talk on call OK via Bluetooth connection in the car and when I have earbuds/mic plugged in. Mic seems to function OK from the handset when NOT in a call. For example, Google can hear me when I do a "hey google" and ask a question.
After screen replacement, I was receiving "google play services has stopped" every couple of seconds. Was able to overcome that issue eventually by doing a force stop on google play services and then uninstall updates. After all the apps got updated as required, all seemed fine... Until I received my first call and I couldn't answer!
Problem still occurs when I boot into safe mode.
Here is all the version info:

Any suggestions for troubleshooting this would be greatly appreciated. I'm still hoping its some sort of software issue/corruption/inconsistency somewhere. Have not yet tried factory reset. From my readings, it didn't appear that did anything for others, but if that is the suggestion, am willing.
Updated info from further testing:
When in a call, the handset microphone acts like its sending the voice to the speakers instead of "over the wire" to the phone called. In other words, when I speak into the microphone in the handset, I can hear what I said back in the speakers at the top of the phone, but the person I called hears nothing. Very odd.
Same issue
I got the exact same issue. I have factory reset, and even installed update using Verizon update repair tool.
micro works on video recording and bleeds back to ear speaker on calls. But will not work on voice recording apps. Calls work o.k. with headset but not mic or speakerphone.
Droid Turbo XT1254 Handset mic not working
I also have the same issue with my Droid Turbo XT1254. I have factory reset it multiple times while working with Verizon support. I also used the repair tool to reload the OS. No change at any point after these attempts.
The one thing I did isolate is that the problem started after the software update
From version - 24 . 81 . 5 . quark_verizon . verizon . en . us (January 06, 2017 11:00 am)
To version - 24 . 91 . 5 . quark_verizon . verizon . en . us (March 08, 2017 11:12 am)
I most recently discussed this with a Motorola tech and his obvious answer was to go back to version - 24 . 81 . 5 . quark_verizon . verizon . en . us. But I had ask Verizon this before and they would not release that to me. At least now I know that this is a software issue because there are at least three of us out there. Does anyone know where that past version might be available to download.?
My phone info is exactly the same as SudoTechie:

We have all the firmware posted in this forum, and if not here there are 3rd party repositories for Motorola firmware.
But you can't cannot downgrade if you bootloader is not unlocked. Every Motorola update has a "newer" bootloader and you can't go backwards unless you have unlocked bootloader. Even then you have to omit gpt.bin from the flash commands. But you can then downgrade firmware, with unlocked bootloader. You can go all the way back to KitKat 4.4.4 with unlocked bootloader if you wish.
