Okay, so I've rooted. On the first screen, when booting (where it says "Samsung Galaxy S6"), there is now tiny, green text on the top left corner. Is there any way to remove that? Or am I stuck with it? I can get a pic if you have no idea of what I'm referring to.
Thanks.

Nope. Sorry.

Did you guys flash the engineering bootloader? If so, that's why and you can't remove it

Thank you, sir or madam.

If you would like it to go away flash the stock bootloader for your build. However if you have a custom kernel or recovery it will just be replaced by a red message instead.

Yup, this is an option but as you said, red letters will appear with custom kernel, not to mention it will trip knox. I automatically assumed they wanted to keep the eng bootloader

Yeah I want to keep the eng bootloader. I didn't know it was because of that. Not a big deal, I'll just have to return to stock if I ever have to return it for any reason. Thanks

You can try flashing the attached file with ODIN (as PDA).
This will do a factory reset to your phone and hopefully make it boot normally.
The file is taken from the following thread so all credits go there!

it worked
Thanx very much

I believe you need to flash an official rom again to remove root.
After that, do a factory defaults reset.

If you have mj4 I don't believe a downgrade is possible
Though you can downgrade from mi5 no problem.
The stock mi3 file is still up at the Samsung update website. I don't remember the link at the moment.

Yup I knew that was previously the case, and was pretty sure there was no workaround.
I hate when they do cap like that to the bootloader.
I'm going to take that as confirmation, as I knew back when mj4 first came out and I was maintain a Knox safe root thread. There were a few issues of people tripping Knox Even on a complete stock uprooted phone attempting to downgrade to run the Vega files.
Just hadn't looked into it since then wasn't sure someone hadn't worked around it.
Though why you would want to go back to mi3 is another question.

im in the same boat sorta. guy wants to buy my phone but i wanna give it to him as clean as possible. im on mj4. is there anyway to go back to a stock stock version of that?

Yup, there are a few stock mj4 options (with or without root)
Check the development section.
I personally usually use Odin to flash the full official Samsung mj4 tar.

Just to go Security>Permission control > disable root permission
If you are using any third party root permission managers like SuperSu
Just uninstalling them would work.
Hello, does anyone know how to change the battery icon color of the note 3? I have mine on KK right now, and it's green, I would like to make it white. I know you can make it white by using wanam and using the circle battery, but I don't want that.
I want to make it look like the international note 3 kk's white battery icon.
Thanks in advance.
You will have to be rooted to do so. There is no known root for 4.4.2 without tripping knox.

I'm still on KR, the dev got banned, and i heard you can't downgrade so I think i'm kinda stuck on this rom until theres more NC2 roms.

Odin root may or may not be possible on the ATT variant, only time will tell.
It time to return s5

I saw a post from Chainfire indicating he was releasing auto-roots for a bunch of variants today(he didn't mention which ones but I've got my fingers crossed). Apparently the current bottleneck is Sammy's crappy d/l servers.
Looks like no dice with Chainfire, at least for now. https://plus.google.com/+Chainfire/posts/JVxv5298wdU
Apparently he needs the recovery extracted from the firmware. I checked sammobile.com for our firmware and they haven't put it out yet. I sure hope they do.

Yeah thats the part I'm not following. Can't I pull this from the Phone with Odin and send it to him or does the dump function not work on the S5?

You can't usually dump the recovery partition without having root...usually a custom recovery is needed...hence he needs the firmware which contains the recovery partition.

Just curious if we will be able to root without a unlocked bootloader. With other devices I don't recall that being an issue. But then again this is the first one I've had that's been this locked down.

CF root likely won't work if the ATT BL is locked, but the only definitive way to check is to get the firmware and extract the recovery, send it to CF and have him package something up and then have someone flash with Odin, if the BL is locked, then it will either fail to flash, fail to boot, or worse, also once you flash anything not deemed official you trip the knox warranty flag and your without a warranty..

I'm pretty sure root will break some things. I was able to sign up for Isis and get the $50 credit, but my wife wasn't able since her Note 3 is rooted. Google Wallet might still work though. Ready to root though.

I don't have it any more. Not sure what removed it, but if i had to guess it was installing xposed, then going to Security Hacks and changing checking the Fake System Status box.
Grab Wanam off the playstore with Xposed installed. It'll do that for you.
This method works.

I used Triangle Away this worked for me.
I'm in a different boat where I like to see the custom lock at startup lol. I see it time to time but doesn't do it that often. Not asking for help because who really gives a crap anyways.
Also confirm that using Triangle Away works for me.
