Hi,
Got consumer cellular XT1064 and upgraded to lollipop last year. But I am not able to get OTA since then.
Baseband: MSM8626BP_1032.3105.93.00R CCAWS_CUST
Android Version:5.0.1
Kernel: 3.4.42-gb44b5b3
[email protected] #1
System Version: 22.21.25.titan_retuaws.retuaws.en.US cc
Build #: LXB22.46-25
How do I upgrade to the latest lollipop version? Do I have to restore it to stock? I recall doing that and unlocking the bootloader to get to 5.0.1.Please advise.
http://www.filefactory.com/file/59ybh5cdni4p/XT1064_TITAN_RETUAWS_5.0.2_LXB22.99-24.4_cid9_CFC.xml.zip
not sure if this is CC but the firmware is for xt1064 retuaws
this needs to be flashed via fastboot method its not a zip for custom recovery

You won't get an ota if you're on Consumer Cellular service. They haven't pushed out anything later.

reefuge: Thanks for the link however is it still 5.0.2 not 5.1.1 on XT1064? Also i dont know why the cc tag is coming along as I recall reverting to stock and apply lollipop firmware
Tel864: sim unlocked using on tmobile.
There is no 5.1.1 firmware rolled out by motorola until now. So 5.0.2 is the highest lollipop version you can get. I´m from europe so I don´t know anything about the comsumer stuff.

Ah ok...Tmobile. Like Wolfcity said though, there's no 5.1 out for this phone and if rumors are true, there never will be a 5.1 for the 2nd gen. If you want 5.1 you'll have to go with a custom rom. It's rumored that the 2nd gen may get "M" and skip 5.1 completely.

Its because the 5.0.1 and 5.0 updates were for an earlier version of kitkat. No way to manually update or no ota yet. Must wait it out because there is not a great was to downgrade firmware

The version is Consumer Cellular Version 21.11.23.titan_retuavs.retuavs.en.US reus Build: KXB21.85-23, which is a upgraded version that from what i have read in these threads is NOT getting Lollipop ?. I use the first link to flash but downloaded loaded Blur_Version.21.11.17.titan_retuaws.retuaws.en.US or Retail version someone uploaded because Moto link has not worked since 12/12/14, from the second link .

No OTA, but you can use the TWRP Backup of 5.0.1 on your XT1068.
Here's the post:

Nobody know, even Motorola or maybe they just don't want to tell us.
However you can check this page to get news about the update to your device:

Probably late January or Early February. XT1068 will probably shoot straight to 5.1 since that update is due soon with critical bug fixes for the Lollipop Memory Leak!
So Its 5.0.3 or 5.1 for XT1068. Whichever comes first. Its highly unlikely we'll see 5.0.0 or 5.0.1 on XT1068
I think It will be straight 5.0.2, since they are testing 5.0.2 right now, if my sources are reliable.

Yes. But you can always restore to stock and upgrade via the OTA
ok so i upgraded to 5.1.0 (LMY47D) when it was officially released but i want to upgrade to 5.1.0 (LMY47E) because my nexus is actually a sprint nexus 6. when i tried to upgrade manually i was denied so im asking do i need to downgrade back to 5.0.1 so that i can upgrade to 5.1E?
Also i have unlocked/rooted my device and i had to use the boot image from 5.1E because it wouldnt accept the image from 5.1D when i wanted to unroot to try and upgrade. sorry just looking for help on what to do so i can actually get 5.1D

The D build is the one that Sprint users have received via OTA. I'm personally using the "I" build whose radio is the same as D. The " E" build is supposedly for Verizon users and the "M" build is for T-Mobile. If anything, consider using the "I" build.
Since you're unlocked, download the factory image and use fastboot to flash the files separately. Don't flash userdata and you won't lose your data. The instructions for this method have been posted numerous times but you can find them in the factory images thread in general.

Also, questions go in the Q&A forum, not in general.
I agree with evolution , I am also using the I build and my battery life has been great. No problems at all only I'm an att customer switching to tmo or sprint soon.

Hello everyone,
I have several Verizon variants of the Moto x (XT1096) all on stock 4.4.4. In all of them I am offered the OTA to 5.0.2 which is 678MB. I don't want to download sooo much times the same OTA for each one. Is there a way to capture the OTA to apply it to the rest of the cellphones?
Thanks in advance!

You can use Motorola Device Manager to update your phone from your PC or Mac. More info at the Motorola site: How do I update the software on my phone or tablet using a USB cable? There is a link on that page for the software download page.

What do you mean Verizon variants of the Moto X XT1096? What network are you using your device on that you are being offered the OTA to 5.0.2?

I thought 5.02 was the current Verizon version. I just got my XT1096 a week ago from Asurion as a replacement for a dropped XT1060Dev. It had 5.02 installed when I got it. The fxz from which we have made our mofo images is 5.02. I had presumed that the 2nd gen MotoX (which I wasn't following closely until very recently) had gotten its 5.02 update a while ago and the OP of this thread had just not taken it.

Another thought here. Aren't OTA updates usually free, in other words they don't count against your data usage?

No, it is 5.0. Go to Settings, About Phone on your phone and what does it say? Mine says 5.0.

You're right, I stand corrected. I really thought when I got this phone last week that I looked and it said 5.0.2 With the previous 1st gen MotoX I was running cm 12.1 which was 5.1 Lollipop and had previously been 5.0.2 so that might be where my confusion come from as well.

The first generation Moto X (2013) are still on 4.4.4. They are getting 5.1 soon though, probably sooner than the MX14 b/c I suspect Verizon is not going to give the MX13 HD Calling so it will be a quicker process for Verizon to test the OTA for the MX13. It really sucks if the MX13 won't get HD Calling but Verizon is not giving the iP5s HD Calling so I doubt that the MX13 will get it either. Also, if you noticed the announcement of the 5.1 update for the MX14 did not include the Verizon XT1096, just TMobile, AT&T and PE. I am sure that is due to Verizon.
Anyhow, the reason I asked this is b/c if the OP is being offered a 5.0.2 update, I doubt he has a Verizon SIM card in his phone. If it is the 5.0 OTA, then yes, but 5.0.2 no. I don't know what would happen if he tried to take a 5.0.2 OTA on a Verizon MX14. I worry that he would brick but maybe it would check the model number and then abort the installation.

Yes, I'm watching that. Since the XT1096 is still a current Verizon phone, hopefully they won't hold it up too long!
Last week I flashed my Claro Chile Moto Maxx to Retail Mexico to update to Android 5.0, at the mment everything's perfect, but my question is: am I going to receive OTA's normally through the phone or should I have to flash every time a new update is available?
By the way, before updating to Mexican Lollipop from Mexican KK I tried through System Updates in Settings, but it said "Your device's software is up to date" but Retail Mexico was updating to Lollipop, was it because my device wasn't in the system yet, or because I can't receive OTAs?
